Fifty million credits total.

Adult males had to make their own way financially. Being a rare Purifier, Thorne pulled in two million credits for purifying one contaminated zone. Paynt ca only after completion though, and the work completely wiped out his spiritual energy.

Two million seed impressive, but galactic soil contamination was severe everywhere. The work was brutal. That money ca with blood, sweat, and tears.

Thorne’s jaw clenched with rage. But those two worthless idiots were his younger brothers. He had no option except to fork over the ransom.

On his latest visit, Xander finally appeared behind a mask. He didn’t toy with Thorne this round. He grabbed the cash and released the brothers imdiately.

Xander wasn’t an idiot. Pri residents all had wealth or influence. He could squeeze them only because they dreaded public humiliation. Push too hard, and he’d face serious consequences.

When they dragged Vance and Jasper out, insects covered every inch of them. Roaches dropped off with each movent, while flies circled them in the sweltering heat.

Thorne imdiately backed away, his revulsion obvious. He gestured quickly, and a service robot doused both brothers head to toe with a pressure washer.

But he’d forgotten this was Waste-mire World. Waste blanketed everything. The ground beneath his feet only appeared clean because it was dried filth.

Now, fresh water mixed with the refuse, and the stench slamd into him like a freight train. Thorne staggered backward, lost his footing, and crashed down. All three brothers were equally wretched now.

"Elara, I’m going to murder you!" Thorne bellowed.

But he got a mouth full of that revolting sludge and retched violently.

Elara’s POV

I sneezed.

What moron is talking trash about ?

I yawned continuously, my eyes barely staying open. But thinking about my massive paycheck, I had zero complaints.

After yesterday’s excursion, I understood this world way better.

First, Glimraven Port’s food markets had zero leafy vegetables, no potatoes, and barely any flowers. I filed that information away ntally.

I checked my device when I returned ho. After confirming the Valerion Empire lacked these items too, I crashed.

To rake in cash, I needed market knowledge—and who doesn’t want more money?

Second, I researched wages for various careers. Purifiers topped the list—an extrely rare profession. Cleansing specialized terrain paid 1.5 to 2 million credits.

Purifiers also held ergency authority in the Valerion Empire and reported straight to the royal family.

No surprise Beatrix, an S-class, had targeted those three worthless A-class guys. Everything clicked now.

I figured I could handle that work too—I just couldn’t bail yet. Plus, I despised being micromanaged.

Other regular positions, like mine, typically paid 100 to 150 thousand credits.

But I worked at Voidferal Feral Territory, so my compensation had gone through the roof.

Five million credits monthly!

Just the thought made giddy.

I knew my salary was absolutely insane, but I didn’t give a damn. Anything benefiting was perfect. Anyone trying to con would face my complete wrath.

I was simply a cheerful, dedicated worker.

Most importantly, I suspected my enormous salary connected to those so-called husbands of mine.

Obviously, that was pure speculation.

I splashed water on my face, cleaned my teeth, switched outfits, and did basic grooming. Then I rushed directly to the kitchen. The n in the sanctuary weren’t just my husbands—they were my cash cows.

Where else could I land work paying 5 million credits monthly?

Absolutely nowhere.

I bounced and glided down the corridor. Everything had been falling into place lately. I grinned and began humming unconsciously.

My soft, lodic voice floated through the hallway into the patient rooms—quiet, but perfectly audible.

I had a lovely voice. None of them had heard this tune before: Though they’d be embarrassed to confess it, just listening sent shivers down their spines, like gentle electricity dancing across their skin.

The patient wards fell dead silent. Everyone strained their ears and listened intently.

Then... I stopped cold.
