Elara’s POV

After Silas settled into his seat, I watched him switch out the vine bracelet wrapped around his wrist. The mont he secured the new one in place, he pivoted toward with that devastating smile.

That single look and grin left breathless.

I gulped hard.

Alright, I’ll own it—my mind’s the one in the gutter. So...

"Dr. Pendragon, are you so kind of pervert?" I blurted out.

Silas exploded into laughter. He abandoned his al, rose gracefully, and glided toward the food hatch. His voice dropped to a husky whisper, warm and dangerously seductive. "Can’t you see, Ms. Sterling? I’m not perverted. I’m simply... irresistible."

Simply irresistible...

Dr. Pendragon, that wicked streak of yours clashes completely with your angelic features. You’re breaking character entirely.

I spun around to flee, but Silas’s lengthy arm shot through the food hatch, snagged my collar, and yanked backward.

He continued, his expression remaining tender, but his voice transford into the devil’s own murmur. "Ms. Sterling, I already told you—you’re allowed to have feelings for . Because I have feelings for you, too."

My face blazed crimson. I was dissolving.

He’s overwhelming. I can’t cope with him.

"I... I understand. Please release ," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

What happened to my fierce, outspoken attitude?

My inner angel and demon battled once more in my thoughts.

Snap out of it!

You’re pathetic. The other two are attractive as well, and you didn’t crumble.

The other two can’t even compete with him. Don’t be ridiculous.

This ti, my inner angel erged victorious.

Silas’s smile broadened as he observed my flustered expression. His long, elegant fingers traced gently across the nape of my neck. The cool sensation rippled through my entire body. I stiffened and pulled away.

"Dr. Pendragon..." I could hardly form words.

Silas’s voice beca even softer, chuckling quietly. "I’m right here, Ms. Sterling."

His silver fras glead, concealing his possessive gaze. I could sense sothing darker beneath his gentle exterior, though I couldn’t quite place what it was.

"Dr. Pendragon, will you release ?" I was prepared to surrender. I’d never been in a relationship—I’d never experienced this kind of pursuit.

"Why would I? I’ve finally captured you. Why would I let you escape?" He adjusted his glasses on his nose. I noticed the gesture, and my heart plumted.

How could I have forgotten? He’s the dangerous lop-eared rabbit.

"I still have duties to attend to," I protested.

Silas whispered, "But I need you..."

I gazed at him in bewildernt.

Did I misjudge him?

Silas released his grip, and his voice suddenly trembled with sorrow. The abrupt change left completely bewildered. I couldn’t think clearly, as if I’d consud two potent drinks.

He claid he needed ?

Silas spoke, "I apologize deeply. I overstepped. You don’t despise now, do you, Ms. Sterling?"

His eyes sparkled with moisture, his lashes trembled, and he regarded cautiously—as though the ravenous man from monts before had vanished entirely.

He truly mastered manipulation.

I shook my head, too dumbfounded to process anything. "No, Dr. Pendragon. Don’t be so hard on yourself."

Only attractive n escape consequences like this.

Only Dr. Pendragon can affect this way.

Silas continued, "I’m completely isolated in Chamber Seven. The room opposite mine sits vacant. I experience such profound loneliness constantly. That’s why I wanted you to remain. I’m sorry. Please don’t despise ."

I blinked in surprise. Is he actually crying?

Silas tilted his head slightly. Warm golden light illuminated his features. Beneath his platinum hair, his eyes appeared red-rimd. The glasses ceased their glinting, allowing to witness his remorseful, tearful, vulnerable expression.

It seed like he’d shatter if I spoke a single harsh word.

"I don’t despise you, Dr. Pendragon. You don’t need to apologize," I assured him.

"Then could you use my na? You consistently address as Dr. Pendragon. It creates such distance between us."

I remained silent.

Once his hold disappeared, I returned to my senses. I lowered my gaze, suppressed a smile, and said, "Si."

Then I genuinely fled.

Silas didn’t pursue —he was occupied wiping away his nosebleed.

He sniffled, then glanced at the tonic on his table and smiled.

When I returned, Finnian’s curtain remained firmly drawn. Alistair faced away from the door, his shoulders trembling slightly as he ate.

Dorian had completed his al. Food covered his mouth. I retrieved a wet wipe and beckoned him over. Dorian couldn’t explain why, but his feet moved independently the instant he spotted .

"Elara," he called gently.

"Your Highness, you have food covering your face," I said tenderly.

I crouched to the food hatch’s level and cleaned his mouth thoroughly.
