Upon entering the Peaceful Town Dungeon, he exhausted his last usage of the World Painting Scroll. Fortunately, he slled the scent of a spatial travel item on the Managent Bureau mbers who entered the dungeon later.
He opened the display cabinet and took out the Universal Portal.
As he stroked the Universal Portal, a pleased expression appeared on his face. His current state was more enjoyable than watching a chosen model gradually be consud by his desires and finally explode into a grand display of fireworks.
The usage limitations of the Universal Portal were significant. In the hands of the Managent Bureau, it was rely an ergency rescue item of great cost, a complete waste of its true potential.
Only in his hands, by extracting its essence and breaking the shackles upon it, could it truly fulfill its potential.
Lu Langfeng stored the Universal Portal in his personal space and glanced toward the other glass display cabinets around him.
The Wanghai Branch was just a branch in a re second-tier city. Aside from the Universal Portal, there was nothing else here worthy of his attention. But since he was already here, he should take a few more items to not waste the efforts of the nine helpers.
With that thought, he reluctantly decided to choose two more items.
While Lu Langfeng was selecting items on the sixth basent level of the Managent Bureau, Wu Chang was still waiting at the Emotion Art Gallery for Lu Langfeng to return.
As ti passed by the minute, an ominous feeling in his heart increasingly grew, making him a bit anxious.
He looked at the young man learning painting from Lu Langfeng and asked, "When Owner Lu goes out, about how long does it usually take for him to co back?"
The young man shook his head and replied, "I’m not sure. If Teacher Lu hasn’t returned by seven in the evening, he usually just tells to lock up and leave."
"Does he frequently leave you alone and not return?" Wu Chang inquired.
The young man answered honestly, "Often."
Wu Chang slapped his forehead, holding back the urge to curse, "Then why did you say earlier that Owner Lu should be back soon?"
Feeling slightly embarrassed, the young man scratched his head, unaware that paint was getting on his hair.
"Because you seed quite anxious, and I was afraid that my answer might cause you and Teacher Lu to miss each other. That would upset Teacher Lu."
Wu Chang almost laughed in exasperation, thinking, ’So if I can’t wait, it’s got nothing to do with you, and Lu Langfeng won’t bla you, huh? You’re quite the clever one.’
He had a premonition that Lu Langfeng wouldn’t be back today, so he exchanged contact info with the young man on Giant ssage, telling him to inform him imdiately if Lu Langfeng returned.
After leaving instructions, he quickly left the art gallery.
As soon as he exited the gallery, he accessed the Managent Bureau’s backend system, pulling up surveillance around the Emotion Art Gallery to track Lu Langfeng’s movents.
He found that Lu Langfeng had driven away an hour before him, behaving normally the whole journey, directly returning ho and not leaving afterward.
Lu Langfeng’s actions seed ordinary, but Wu Chang subconsciously felt sothing was amiss and decided not to follow him. Instead, he kept his phone screen on the surveillance around Lu Langfeng’s house and returned to the bureau to report the current situation.
It wasn’t that he feared whatever preparations Lu Langfeng or the mastermind might have, nor was he afraid of running into trouble recklessly. He was more concerned about revealing too much power, especially if the approaching Director Gao or Sword Star saw him.
Wu’s status had already made him a target for the Four Major Organizations, with the Bright Society watching him closely from across a plane. He needed to maintain an identity that could live openly in reality.
As Wu Chang drove back to the Managent Bureau, the young man in the studio sighed and shook his head slightly.
Young people are so impatient, unable to sit still after waiting for just a short while.
What’s the use of being anxious? You can’t see , so how are you going to find ?
The young man paused for a mont, then continued humming a tune while completing his unfinished painting.
On the canvas was a dark island, with scattered flickering lights within the abandoned buildings at its center.
"Light is a safe haven for so but becos a shackle that limits others. A body that cannot be bound by any hardships may still be hindered by others’ gazes. I wonder if he will like the little program I’ve arranged."
Upon returning to the Managent Bureau, Wu Chang imdiately noticed the tense atmosphere, with an inexplicable pressure emanating from below, resembling an Erosion Dungeon.
He spotted Spirit Fox hastily heading out and quickly caught her, asking, "What happened in the bureau?"
Spirit Fox, who initially appeared troubled and anxious, felt a sense of safety upon seeing Wu Chang, calming down a bit.
She said, "The bureau was attacked by an unknown force, originating from the underground. According to instrunt detection, an unknown Erosion Dungeon appeared below, isolating the underground space from the surface completely."
Wu Chang frowned. An Erosion Dungeon spawning in the Managent Bureau? Is this intended to escalate matters quickly?
Or did soone deliberately orchestrate this to cause trouble within the Managent Bureau?
He asked, "Where’s Director Gao?"
Spirit Fox replied, "Just monts ago, Instructor Zhao returned from outside and went directly to the Director’s office. I’m not sure what he said, but I saw him, Director Gao, Deputy Director Lei, and Sword Star take the elevator to the lower levels together."
The next mont, alarms ca from below. When we approached, we only saw the empty elevator returning to the ground floor, with Director Gao and the others having disappeared inside. Now, Director Xia Jia is in charge of the bureau."
We just contacted Professor Shi and inford him of what happened. It was through Professor Shi’s remote detection that we discovered an Erosion Dungeon had appeared underground, although it hasn’t spread yet."
