Now, combined with the Saintess’s high regard for him and seeing him as the human representative of a god, the islanders’ attitude toward him grew even more respectful.
Wu Chang smiled at Erin, aware of her intentions. If possible, he wanted to give Erin a hug at that mont, but he restrained himself to preserve Erin’s goddess image.
Having resolved the major crisis brought by Morena, he smoothly shifted the topic back on track, continuing to speak to Morena:

The substantially large and orderly fleet had an appearance of preparing for war, with one part being the Kingdom’s elite navy and the other led by Archbishop Gelman from the National Church Knight Order.
More elite soldiers than islanders as a whole flooded the island, easily seizing control of the small town.
The soldiers detained all islanders and massively searched the island, seeking traces of Erin and Wu Chang.
Hearing this, Wu Chang could infer the motivation behind the Ogre Kingdom’s actions.
It must have been that his act of rging the Great Saint Mother into the Saint’s Legacy Mask and resurrecting Erin with the Great Saint Mother’s help was too rebelliously disruptive, causing the Great Saint Mother to order the Ogre National Church to wage war on Briff.
