Looking at the Great Saint Mother returning overhead with full strength and an unfriendly deanor, Wu Chang was not frightened but rather delighted.
They were in a cooperative relationship with the Great Saint Mother, temporarily companions, and if Wu Chang had been contemplating betrayal from the start, scheming against his teammates, wouldn’t that make him seem despicable?
After all, she’d just praised him for being upright; backstabbing her imdiately afterward would be quite embarrassing.
But since the Great Saint Mother also held back and chose to strike first, Wu Chang went from actively betraying to defensively justified self-defense, instantly relieving any psychological pressure.
With no psychological pressure, morally superior, he had no hesitations in taking action.
Wu Chang felt ecstatic inside but wore a dumbfounded expression on his face, asking:
"Great Saint Mother, what do you an by this?"
The Great Saint Mother resud her divine deanor, speaking in a lofty tone:
"In light of the major trouble you helped resolve, I offer you an opportunity to rge the Eternal Light Church you founded with the Ogre National Church as one of its branches, and I can acknowledge Erin’s status as the Chief Angel."
Upon hearing the terms offered to Erin, Wu Chang’s expression beca odd. They were being made enforcers, no, turned into Dharma Protectors, guarding the house while enjoying so soup. Wasn’t this the condition he’d offered to the Sea God before coming?
Unexpectedly, the boorang returned to hit him, making Erin a recruited party.
Before Wu Chang could speak, the Great Saint Mother turned her gaze to him and continued:
"As for you, mortal, after Gelman assus the role of Pope, you can replace him and beco my Archbishop."
Wu Chang felt the burning intensity in the Great Saint Mother’s eyes but was puzzled — what did this woman an, was she coming for him?
Could it be that after awakening as the Primordial Seed, he also triggered the Succubus Talent?
Compared to Erin, the Great Saint Mother indeed valued Wu Chang more, not because she was bewitched, but because she valued Wu Chang’s fortune.
As her vessel in the lower realm, Erin was almost raised under her watchful eyes, with Erin’s Holy Mark in her body, capable of real-ti feedback on her growth.
She was more aware than anyone of Erin’s worth; as a puppet, how could Erin integrate her soul, awaken divinity, and ascend from Powerful Angels to the pinnacle of Power Angels, just a step shy of Principal Angels?
And how did she acquire the Pillar of the Divine Kingdom, sothing even the Great Saint Mother couldn’t condense after years of fosterage?
The answer was obvious; it was all because of Wu Chang.
This mortal was full of riddles, managing to penetrate her Pure Battle Armor and inflict damage with rely a mortal’s body.
He could continuously accomplish feats like finding the Pillar of the Divine Kingdom, summoning the Martial Star Monarch, which defied common sense.
No matter what ans he used, it proved his extraordinariness.
So this mortal, she, the Great Saint Mother, desired.
"Mortal, tell your choice."
Wu Chang displayed a confused expression and said:
"Great Saint Mother, this doesn’t align with the divine pact we initially signed. Aren’t we companions; no need to make things so tense, right?"
The Great Saint Mother smirked and retorted:
"Did the divine pact stipulate that I couldn’t do this?"
Wu Chang remained silent as, naturally, the divine pact didn’t specify this. After all, for the convenience of his actions, he deliberately omitted the mutual non-harm clause in the contract.
Seeing Wu Chang voiceless, the Great Saint Mother continued;
"Mortal, though you possess talents others don’t, rember, only talents that can be realized count as talents. Before you gain sufficient strength, never rashly trust others."
Wu Chang shrugged, adopting a resigned stance and countered:
"What if we refuse? Great Saint Mother, rember how we signed the divine pact on Briff Island."
The Great Saint Mother made no movents, yet the Pure Battle Armor previously loaned to Erin, which had dissipated due to exhausted Divine Power, suddenly reappeared on Erin.
But this ti, the Pure Battle Armor was no longer under Erin’s control, protecting her, but instead began to bind her.
To defeat the Master of the Deep Sea, Erin had depleted her Divine Power, unable to react before the Pure Battle Armor had her restrained.
Then, the Great Saint Mother pointed upwards, Wu Chang looked up and saw a massive Light Wheel floating above the ship, the symbol of the Great Saint Mother entering True Divine Body.
The Great Saint Mother leisurely spoke:
"Erin’s Divine Power is depleted, while I have already entered True Divine Body in advance; your little tricks won’t interrupt . Mortal, tell , can you still resist now?"
Wu Chang scratched his head and with so helplessness said, "Looks like I have to surrender, and kiss your foot."
Before the Great Saint Mother could continue her victory proclamation, the edge of the deck plunged into chaos as the National Church Knight Order frantically threw smoking Water Bitter Grass into the sea.
An ominous feeling flashed through the Great Saint Mother’s mind, "What happened?"
The mbers of the National Church Knight Order at the edge of the deck shouted:
"Great Saint Mother, there’s a Sea Monster approaching!"
Just after the Knight finished speaking, a massive dark shadow erged below the ship, and the next mont, the enormous steel ship was shattered by the shadow, launching everyone aboard high into the air.
In the exploding water mist, the shadow flashed by, and as the mist dispersed, the sea surface filled with ship debris showed no trace of Wu Chang and Erin.
The two had vanished, yet the enormous shadow below the sea remained, lustfully eyeing the Knight Order mbers falling into the water above.
The Great Saint Mother, exasperated, showed a look of fury, drew her Longsword, and atop her head, the Undying Sacred Fire ignited.
