Early the next morning, after breakfast, Su Chen drove to the teahouse opposite the Jianghai City Police Station.
After giving his na, a cheongsam-clad waitress led him to a private room towards the back, where Jiang Lixing was already waiting.
As Su Chen walked in, Jiang Lixing quickly stood up. Su Chen casually waved his hand, signaling him to sit, and then said to the waitress,
"Unless called for, don't let anyone else co in."
"Yes, of course."
The waitress replied and politely exited the room, leaving Jiang Lixing and Su Chen alone.
After the waitress left, Jiang Lixing imdiately poured a cup of tea for Su Chen and smiled,
"This is chrysanthemum tea, I don't know if you like it, Chief."
"It's quite good," Su Chen nodded casually, "Let's get to the point, what clues have those people from the Special Security Bureau found?"
"Oh, sure."
After setting down the teapot, Jiang Lixing spoke seriously,
"The bureau's people re-examined the sites of the victims and found sothing resembling a plaque near one of the scenes. They said it seems to relate to so Island Country faction, or perhaps sothing from a Shrine. I'm not certain of the specifics, but they strongly suspect that the perpetrator is from the Island Country."
"To be honest, we might have seen that thing originally but didn't pay it much heed."
"From the Island Country?"
Su Chen frowned upon hearing this since it's such an unusual nation where many thoughts and behaviors are extrely wild, often incomprehensible to outsiders.
If the bureau's speculation is correct, what is he doing in Huaxia?
Regardless of who he is or his purpose, once Su Chen finds him, he is determined not to let him leave Huaxia alive.
Moreover, he is going to make his life a living hell, for such an animal deserves nothing less for committing such heinous cris!
"Are there any other clues?"
Su Chen was not yet inclined to deal with those people from the Special Security Bureau, so he could only get information through Jiang Lixing.
"Not for the ti being."
Jiang Lixing shook his head.
"Then what does that pattern look like?"
Su Chen asked another question.
"Oh, I nearly forgot, I took a photo, take a look,"
Jiang Lixing fiddled with his phone, then handed it to Su Chen.
Upon seeing the image, Su Chen felt a strong sense of familiarity but couldn't quite place where he had seen it.
The image was dominated by red, depicting a malevolent demon, exuding a bloody, ghastly, and eerie vibe that was very disconcerting.
"Alright, let's leave it at that for now, I have to go."
With that, Su Chen stood up and left the teahouse.
Watching Su Chen's retreating figure, Jiang Lixing felt sowhat uneasy because, by the rules, he should not have leaked any information gathered by the Special Security Bureau.
But Su Chen asked him to do so, and he didn't dare to disobey. More importantly, he believed that since the young man before him was personally labeled with the title "National Spirit" by that high official, he must be absolutely trustworthy!
After leaving, Su Chen was still pondering over that image. He was almost certain he had seen it sowhere before, or at least sothing similar; otherwise, he wouldn't have such a strong feeling.
But after a long ti, he still hadn't the slightest inkling.
"Forget it, I'll think about it later."
Su Chen knew that such blind contemplation was unlikely to yield any results, and an epiphany might strike unexpectedly.
Su Chen then drove to the Belle Building again and happened to pass a Dior boutique. He suddenly rembered the promise of makeup for the young lady, Chen Guo, and hence went in to buy a limited edition set costing over 50,000 Huaxia currency.
But this amount of money was nothing to Su Chen, so planting a little "spy" next to his wife was totally worth it.
When Su Chen gave the set of makeup to the young girl, her eyes imdiately sparkled with excitent, and she almost wanted to kiss Su Chen right there and then, but rembering he was the president's husband, she decided against it.
"Little Guo, if there's any news about President Lin, you must tell in ti, okay?"
There was a sly smile on Su Chen's lips as he said this.
"Don't worry, Brother Su!"
Chen Guo imdiately agreed, she couldn't refuse considering the makeup set she'd received!
Then, with a smug look, Su Chen pushed open the grand door of Lin Ruoxue's office, only to see Lin Ruoxue still deeply engrossed in her work. Hearing Su Chen's footsteps, she didn't even lift her head and grumbled:
"Why aren't you staying in the PR departnt? What are you doing here again?"
"I was just missing my dear wife."
Su Chen said with a chuckling tone.
"Really?"
At this mont, Lin Ruoxue had just finished dealing with a docunt, so she picked up her teacup and went to the water dispenser to pour a cup of boiling water:
"Since you're here, I happen to have sothing to discuss with you."
"What is it?"
Su Chen asked casually, and at the sa ti, he reached out swiftly, snatched Lin Ruoxue's teacup, took a sip, and then smilingly handed it back to Lin Ruoxue.
Lin Ruoxue couldn't help but give him a glare before saying:
"Next Friday evening, there's a Jiangnan Chamber of Comrce networking banquet. You must clear your schedule no matter what and accompany ."
"Can I not go?"
Upon hearing about these banquets and cocktail parties Su Chen instinctively felt a headache coming on and didn't want to attend.
"What do you think?"
The temperature of Lin Ruoxue's voice dropped imdiately.
"Fine, I'll go."
Seeing Lin Ruoxue's deanor, Su Chen knew he couldn't wiggle out of it, so he decided to keep a good attitude.

"That's more like it!" Lin Ruoxue snorted, "This ti you must behave properly, don't make the kind of scene you did last ti!"
Lin Ruoxue still hadn't forgotten the scene where this guy had beaten up Liu Qing at the celebration banquet; the thought still sent shivers down her spine!
If this guy wasn't her husband, Lin Ruoxue would rather die than bring him along, but since he was her husband, she had no choice but to take him with her.
All she hoped for was that he would cause less trouble, and she would be grateful.
However, Lin Ruoxue was sowhat puzzled; the Liu Family had suffered such a big loss, yet there seed to be no stir at all?
What she didn't know was that the showdown had already taken place, it was just that it had temporarily co to a close with a massive defeat for the Liu Family!
"I've always been law-abiding, if people don't bother , why would I bother them? Just like last ti, that guy was eying my wife, wouldn't I be less of a man if I didn't give him a lesson?"
Su Chen muttered discontentedly as if he were a troublemaker in Lin Ruoxue's eyes.
"Alright, alright, just make sure you behave this ti. This is the highest-profile banquet in the whole of Jiangnan!"
Lin Ruoxue didn't bother to argue anymore and simply stated.
"Fine, fine, I'll be on my best behavior this ti!"
Having said that, Su Chen then walked straight out.
Seeing that he had agreed to be more behaved this ti, Lin Ruoxue felt slightly relieved, but obviously, she had forgotten a saying.
And that is—the landscape changes, but human nature is hard to change!
