The Pei Family's backyard had a river that connected with the external waterways, a flowing river.
At that mont, two elders were sitting by the river, fishing. The rods in their hands were not the sophisticated kind, but simple bamboos.
One of the elders wore a purple Tang suit, exuding an aura of elegance and nobility, his silent presence commanding attention!
The face of the elder beside him wore a relaxed and carefree expression, dressed in a gray Taoist robe, he looked as if he had stepped out of a legend.
Behind them, a woman sat in a wheelchair, smiling as she watched the two n fish, without uttering a word.
"Mr. Zhuge, it's been ten years since you last visited our Pei family. What brings you here today?"
The elder in the Tang suit asked casually while looking at the float in the river.
The elder in the Taoist robe did not answer his question, instead he remarked gently,
"This flowing river in the backyard of your Pei family has a legend attached to it, did you know?"
"I have never heard of such a thing, Mr. Zhuge. Please enlighten ," responded the man in the Tang suit with a hint of interest sparked by the Taoist elder's comnt.
"Legend has it, there was no river here originally but a field. One day, a young dragon, out of curiosity, secretly flew out from its ho. Having never seen the outside world, it was utterly fascinated and flew farther and farther away."
"When it felt too much ti had passed, it wanted to go ho, but having flown too far, it had forgotten the way back. It started to panic and soared through the sky tirelessly trying to find its way ho."
"However, after a long while, it still failed to find the way. When it arrived here, it finally exhausted the last bit of its strength and fell from the sky, creating a great crater."
"At that ti, it had barely any strength left. Needing to drink and eat, it used its dragon whiskers to continuously dig through the soil, eventually connecting the crater with the external river."
"Then the river water and fish sward over. The young dragon found nourishnt, and a few days later, it finally regained its strength and flew away, this ti finding its way ho."
"As this young dragon grew, it beca the Dragon King. To express its gratitude, it made a pact with Hao Tian, voluntarily sacrificing nine thousand years of its lifespan in exchange for eternal wealth and glory for the people living here!"
"Mr. Zhuge, are you suggesting that everything my Pei family possesses today was exchanged for by that dragon's lifespan?"
The elder in the Tang suit laughed after hearing this.
"What do you think of this story, Old Master Pei?" asked the Taoist elder, seemingly indifferent.
"The story is interesting, but it's full of holes and falls apart under scrutiny," the elder in the Tang suit said, shaking his head slightly.
"Girl, what do you think of this story?" The Taoist elder turned and asked the woman in the wheelchair.
The woman pondered for a mont before softly starting,
"I think Mr. Zhuge has co to our Pei family today and shared such a story surely with an intent."
The elder in the Tang suit smiled silently, well aware that Mr. Zhuge wouldn't tell such a story without a reason.
He just hadn't figured out the other's motive yet, so he remained silent.
"So, what precisely is my intent? Girl, why don't you guess?" asked the Taoist elder with a slight smile.
"Mr. Zhuge, are you testing ?"
The woman in the wheelchair couldn't help but laugh:
"Then I shall hazard a guess, and you will humor ."
"Alright, let's hear it."
"I think, Mr. Zhuge, you are referring to that young dragon. If I guess correctly, there must be soone who has co to Yandu, and this person is greatly associated with my Pei Family or should bring considerable fortune to us!"
"Truly worthy of being a phoenix girl, with an astute and incisive mind, quick to understand!"
The Taoist elder looked at the woman, his smile filled with a profound sense of admiration.
The elder in the Tang suit felt a tremor in his heart upon hearing this and hurriedly asked,
"Who is this person exactly?"
"You will know soon enough. Whether you can seize the opportunity with this dragon will be up to your Pei Family," said the Taoist elder.
The Daoist elder burst out laughing and put down his bamboo pole as he stood up.
He looked up at the clouds in the sky and murmured,
"A storm is coming to Yandu..."
Then he glanced at the woman in the wheelchair and sighed,
"Girl, your destined tribulation is approaching. It's up to you to handle it."
"Since it's a tribulation, I can't avoid it, so I'll just accept it peacefully."
The girl in the wheelchair seed unfazed and smiled lightly.
Hearing this, the Daoist elder burst into laughter,
"Well said! I never thought an old man like wouldn't see as clearly as you, girl!"
After speaking, the Daoist elder drifted away...

In the following days, Su Chen didn't have much to do and mostly stayed in Rainbow Mansion. Of course, he spent most of his ti in Xia Qiuru's office, almost driving her to distraction from her work.
"Alright, you stay here. I'm going out to et a client. I'll probably have dinner with them too, so have dinner on your own."
Xia Qiuru stood up from her chair and said, since she had been dining with Su Chen these days, that's why she ntioned it.
"Who are you eting? Maybe I'll join you."
Su Chen said, as he didn't have anything else to do at the corporation anyway.
"No need, I can manage on my own."
She had always wanted to et him but couldn't, and now that this guy was sticking around her every day, she wished he'd disappear because he was really annoying!
If she didn't need to work, she would actually enjoy his company. But she needed to work most of the ti!
And him being by her side ant that work, which would normally take half an hour, couldn't be finished without two hours.
"Alright then."
Seeing Xia Qiuru "disliking" him so much, Su Chen could only pout, thankfully he still had those girls from the public relations departnt to keep him company!
As a new battlefield, the public relations departnt was of course of utmost importance, and Lin Ruoxue had transferred half of the departnt's personnel to Yandu.
"Minister, you're really bold, daring to flirt with Manager Xia while Boss Lin is away,"
as soon as Su Chen walked in, Zhao Lin imdiately ca over and said.
Now that everyone was on the sa floor, Su Chen's every move was naturally not hidden from others.
"What are you imagining? I just have so work matters to discuss with Manager Xia,"
Su Chen naturally couldn't admit it, in case it reached his wife's ears—that would spell doom, wouldn't it?
"Please, I don't believe that. It's only because Manager Xia is beautiful. If she were ugly, I doubt you'd have so many work matters to discuss."
Ran Ting also scoffed disdainfully.
His frequent interactions with the beautiful won of the public relations departnt made them well aware of what kind of person the minister was.
"Alright, alright, stop idling and get back to work!"

But just as he was halfway through his al, his phone rang. It was Xia Qiuru's female assistant calling, so he imdiately answered.
"Minister Su, Manager Xia has been attacked, please co and save her!"
As soon as the phone connected, panicked and fearful crying could be heard from the other end...
