"Mr. Su, if you have sothing to say, just say it."
Shen Lin asked this question, curious about what Su Chen wanted by arranging a eting with him today as it was the first ti Su Chen had taken the initiative to contact him.
"Indeed, there is a matter I'd like to ask for the young master Shen's assistance with."
Su Chen lit a cigarette and casually exhaled.
Shen Lin felt a tremor in his heart, knowing that even though Su Chen spoke casually, the matter was certainly not going to be simple.
"Please speak, Mr. Su. I will definitely help if I can."
Shen Lin said, though his words already left so room for maneuvering,
That was to say he would help if he could, but if not, then alas.
Su Chen simply smiled at this. Their relationship was based on mutual interest, after all, and Shen Lin's attitude was completely within his expectations.
If Shen Lin didn't show this kind of attitude, Su Chen would actually need to be cautious.
"Before my grandfather passed away, there was soone who had visited the Shen family several tis, and always in Shen Mingchang's study. I want to know about this person's information,"
Su Chen didn't hesitate to lay out his request.
Hearing this, Shen Lin couldn't help but be shocked by the incredible information revealed by Su Chen's words.
First of all, how did he know of this person's existence? From the way he spoke, it was clear that the person had co sneaking around.
Furthermore, why was he checking on this person? Could it be that they were sohow related to the events of that year?
That must be the case, as could be inferred from the tiline he provided.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Su, but I'm afraid I can't be of much help with this matter,"
Shen Lin shook his head and said:
"First of all, the matter happened too long ago, nearly twenty years now. Secondly, if it's as you say, then the discussions with the Family Head must have been extrely secretive, and simply impossible to trace."
"Where there's a will, there's a way."
Su Chen appeared to have anticipated this response, smiling as he poured himself half a glass of red wine, then took a sip and said:
"What if I said I could deal with Shen Shao for you, to ensure he stops being a stumbling block on your path forward? Is it still impossible then?"
Su Chen believed that with Shen Lin's cunning and sches, he surely wasn't without a solution. His initial rejection was only due to a lack of sufficient benefits.
Indeed, upon hearing Su Chen's words, Shen Lin's pupils contracted sharply, a fiery light bursting forth from them!
"Are these words true?"
Shen Lin blurted out the question.
He knew that Shen Shao had always been the biggest obstacle to his ambitions. Without Shen Shao, he had a great chance of succeeding.
Now, hearing that Su Chen could remove Shen Shao for him, it was only natural for Shen Lin to be imnsely excited.
Su Chen lit another cigarette, smiling as he nodded.
"How do you plan to do it?"
Shen Lin asked, a bit uneasy.
"That's not for you to worry about. As long as you satisfy , I'll satisfy you, isn't that the point of our cooperation?"
Su Chen said with a mischievous smile on his lips.
"Excellent!"
Shen Lin burst into laughter, but after a mont, he regained his composure:
"I can only promise to do my best with this matter. As for the outco, I can't make any guarantees at this stage."
"I understand."
Su Chen took a drag on his cigarette and exhaled.
In his view, it would be less trouble to let Shen Lin handle the investigation into the mysterious figure ntioned by Su Jin, given that Shen Lin was a mber of the Shen Family, and would have an easier ti with it than himself.
"Then here's to both of us getting what we wish for!"
Shen Lin and Su Chen laughed as they clinked glasses, then downed their drinks in one gulp.
More than ten minutes later, Shen Lin left, while Su Chen stayed behind—after all, Qi ng was still waiting for him!
After stepping out of the First Grade residence, Shen Lin's eyes montarily deepened as he took several deep breaths, muttering to himself,
"It seems that to get this done, I still need to pay a visit to Second Grandfather!"
Shen Lin knew that his Second Grandfather, Shen Mingsheng, was no easy prey; he too was once a candidate for the position of Family Head, but simply ended up losing the fight.
Over the years, he had never truly settled down. If one wished to uncover the past events, they would likely have to rely on him.
In those days, he was also a man who wouldn't take action until he saw his prey; he would need to give up so things or make so promises.
However, in the face of the temptation of the Family Head position, these were trivial matters.
Having though this through, Shen Lin got into the car and directed the driver to set off...
....
After Shen Lin left, Su Chen leisurely made his way upstairs. When he arrived at a door that was left ajar, the corners of his mouth curved into an amused smile.
He reached out a hand, pushed the door open, and walked in. The room was simply furnished—a bed, a sofa, a coffee table, and not much else.
Qi ng had already shed her jacket and was wearing only a form-fitting dress, lying on her side on the large bed.
This posture fully revealed her perfect curves, and her long legs clad in black stockings were slightly bent, as if communicating sothing.
Her beautiful hair cascaded down casually, resting on the pillow, and her delicate, seductive face glowed with a faint, enticing smile.
"Mr. Su, why are you just staring at like that?"
Qi ng spoke shyly, a faint blush climbing up her cheeks.
Su Chen didn't speak but sat down on the edge of the bed, his hand carelessly draped over her slender waist.
Su Chen could clearly feel a slight tremor in her waist muscles. Although she was prepared, it was an instinctive reaction of the body!
Then, with a mischievous smile lingering on his lips, Su Chen looked at her delicate face and slowly leaned closer.
Qi ng watched his face draw nearer, even feeling his breath, and her cheeks turned even redder while her heart thudded wildly.
She was sowhat afraid to et Su Chen's gaze and gradually closed her eyes, as if waiting for a certain mont to arrive...
If she had a choice, she certainly wouldn't want it to be like this, even though she felt sothing different for this man.
But thinking back to that phone call from two days ago, she resigned herself to her fate...
"A beauty in her pri, yet she chooses to follow a bandit."
Suddenly, a soft sigh sounded close to her ear...
Upon hearing this, Qi ng's eyes fluttered open, only to see Su Chen looking at her with a look of pity on his face.
"What... what do you an?"
Qi ng was shocked and couldn't help but ask.
Su Chen didn't answer but instead picked up the blanket beside him and placed it over her:
"It seems you're really not feeling well. You better rest up."
"All right, I should be going now."
Su Chen gave a slight smile, then stood up and walked out, making sure to close the door behind him...
