"Hehe, Mom, do you not like coming over? Or am I interrupting your alone ti with Uncle?"
Qiaoqiao circled around Shen Manjun with a cheeky grin, "Mom, how was it? Wasn’t my assist last night fantastic, leaving you two alone? Just like in the TV shows, alone man and woman, unable to resist each other. Mom, I’ve helped fulfill your wish, how are you going to reward ?"
Hearing Qiaoqiao’s words, Shen Manjun’s cheeks turned bright red. She pulled Qiaoqiao close, pinching her cheek, "You little rascal, who taught you about alone man and woman being unable to resist? I’ve told you not to watch those nonsensical TV dramas, but you insist! If I catch you again, I’ll make sure to teach you a lesson."
Face pinched, Qiaoqiao mumbled, "What’s so nonsensical about it? I’m already seventeen, and I’ll be a full adult in a year, okay? I’m not a kid anymore. Besides, don’t think I don’t know that you secretly keep Uncle’s photo under your pillow. Once, I even saw you sneaking a kiss on Uncle’s photo, not even embarrassed...."
"You still dare to ntion that?"
Shen Manjun’s face was a bright shade of red, almost steaming.
"Alright, alright, I won’t say anymore, Shen Manjun, I’m warning you, if you keep pinching my cheeks, I might just spill the beans to Uncle about you kissing his photo."
Qiaoqiao pouted, feeling wronged, and muttered, "Mom, now that you’re with Uncle, when I see him, should I call him Dad or Godfather? But he’s not much older than , can’t say he had at seven or eight, right? If I call him Godfather, wouldn’t people think Uncle’s a rich man who’s taken care of ...."
Hearing Qiaoqiao’s words, Shen Manjun glared at her in frustration, "You little mischief-maker, what nonsense are you talking about? Just call him whatever you usually do. Now, get out of here, or I’ll cut your allowance. Wait for outside, don’t you dare go downstairs, or I’ll freeze your bank card too."
Qiaoqiao, with her quirky spirit and fearless nature, might just say sothing shocking if she went downstairs, so it’s better to have her wait and go down together with her later.
"I got it, nothing new, just the sa old threat every day, so outdated."
Upon hearing Shen Manjun threaten to cut her allowance, Qiaoqiao lost all her resistance, gave Shen Manjun a puppy-eyed look, and, pouting, headed outside.
When Qiaoqiao and Shen Manjun ca downstairs, Lu Tianxing was already sitting at the dining table, leisurely enjoying so stead buns. Seeing the two of them, he imdiately flashed a bright smile and took out two bowls to serve so millet porridge.
Seeing Lu Tianxing’s smile, Shen Manjun returned a warm smile, while Qiaoqiao wore a sour expression, silently following Shen Manjun to the table. She acted like a prim and proper young lady, adhered to eating etiquette, and slowly ate her breakfast without a word.
Lu Tianxing found it amusing, as it saved him from any of Qiaoqiao’s usual antics.
Shen Manjun took the millet porridge Lu Tianxing handed her, took a sip, and said, "Tianxing, since you’ve decided to look for Cangwu, when are you planning to leave Beijing?"
Surprised by Shen Manjun’s words, Lu Tianxing hesitated briefly before nodding, "Probably in the next couple of days. Staying in Beijing might make so people see as an eyesore. With my current power, I can’t confront them directly. It’s better to leave sooner, but...."
At this point, Lu Tianxing didn’t continue, gazing apologetically at Shen Manjun. Having just been intimate, he now had to leave Beijing, making him feel a bit like a callous lover.
"What is it? Why did you stop?" Shen Manjun looked up, gently asking Lu Tianxing.
"Man Jun, I’m sorry, I..."
"It’s alright, you don’t need to apologize to ."
Shen Manjun interrupted him with a gentle smile, "Besides, I might not have much ti to be with you. With the recent big incident at the research institute, I have to go back and manage things. So, if anyone’s apologizing, it should be to you, because I might not have ti to see you off when you leave Beijing."
"Uncle, are you leaving Beijing?" Just as Lu Tianxing was about to speak, Qiaoqiao piped up, her eyes heavy with reluctance.
"Of course not. Didn’t I promise you that once I got to Beijing, I’d spend ti playing with you? After breakfast, we can go watch a movie, go to an amusent park, whatever you say goes. How does that sound?" Lu Tianxing smiled at Qiaoqiao’s saddened expression.
"Uncle, you promise, no lying."
"Of course, I can’t possibly lie to such a fearso little Qiaoqiao, can I?"
"Yay! Uncle, I adore you! I want to go on the pirate ship, and ride the roller coaster."
Qiaoqiao couldn’t help but leap from her seat and gave Lu Tianxing a big kiss on the cheek, not the least bit shy in front of Shen Manjun.
Watching this, Shen Manjun didn’t get upset; instead, a warm smile spread across her face, as she had never seen Qiaoqiao so happy.
"Maybe in this lifeti, I’ve t the man destined for ."
Such a thought suddenly crossed Shen Manjun’s mind.
"No problem, today not only will you go, but your mother is coming with us too." Lu Tianxing grinned at Qiaoqiao.
"I... I think I’ll pass!"
Hearing Lu Tianxing’s words, a flash of temptation crossed Shen Manjun’s face, but she ultimately declined. Knowing they were up all night together, her lower half was still sore; she couldn’t go out like this.
Lu Tianxing seed to understand her concern, chuckling, "Don’t worry, my True Qi has healing effects. Let treat you later, it won’t be a problem."
Lu Tianxing winked knowingly at Shen Manjun.
Feeling Lu Tianxing’s gaze, Shen Manjun blushed and chose not to refuse him anymore because she was also tempted by his offer. After all, Lu Tianxing would soon be leaving, and who knew how long it would be before they could be together again? She was a woman too, wanting to enjoy the company of a man even just a little bit....
