Ignoring the squabble between Wabei and Lea, Gu Mengmeng quickly bit her own finger before poking it into Wabei’s mouth.
Wabei got a fright and he turned to stare at Gu Mengmeng in shock. He had no time to react at all, but the moment the mildly sweet taste of blood permeated his mouth, Wabei’s eyes quivered wildly. He went stiff and jumped back vigorously. He pointed at Gu Mengmeng. “You… you you… I didn’t bite you…”
Gu Mengmeng looked at Wabei, who was behaving like a little servant girl being cornered by a her landlord, but would rather choose death over dishonor. She couldn’t help smiling. “Hey, little shit. e over here.”
“I refuse!” Wabei hugged his own chest and glared resolutely at Gu Mengmeng.
He never imagined that he would ever taste Gu Mengmeng’s blood. How could he explain this to Snakel? He had promised to protect her but her blood was now in his mouth! There was no way he could ever explain his way out of this situation!
Gu Mengmeng put on a patient and gentle tone. “Try ing nearer to me. e.”
Wabei shook his head, steadfastly rejecting her.
Gu Mengmeng’s face turned black. “You seem to have forgotten that I am the Snake King.”
Yes, since Snakel’s mark on Gu Mengmeng’s neck turned from a personal protection mark to a family protection mark, she had bee the new Snake King. It was just that she had ordered the snake tribe to continue living in the Snake King valley. There was no need for them to be close to her and be at her beck and call. As a result, there were no snakes surrounding her like the huskies were doing with Elvis now.
Wabei was stunned. He said reluctantly, “Tsk, you have learned how to bully snakes…”

Gu Mengmeng stood up from the bed and pounced on Wabei, hooking one arm around his neck. “Talking back at me so daringly, I guess you are really not scared of me anymore? Right?”
At her mention, Wabei was surprised. He turned toward her in excitement and clutched her shoulders tightly with both hands. His lips parted so wide that two rows of big, white teeth were on full display.
“Gu Mengmeng! I am not afraid you… I am not afraid of you anymore!”
Gu Mengmeng felt like she was falling apart from Wabei’s vigorous shaking. She was so dizzy that she felt like puking.
“Ugh! So painful!” Gu Mengmeng smacked Wabei across the head, sending him flying to a corner. She rubbed her shoulders as she walked slowly over to Wabei and squatted beside him. Gu Mengmeng smiled sincerely as she reached out one hand. “Hey, little shit. Wele back!”
Wabei grabbed hold of Gu Mengmeng’s little hand but he didn’t stand up. Instead, he pulled her into his arms. He was unable to calm his own emotions. He was so agitated that his throat felt extremely tight while his body trembled uncontrollably.
‘I thought I would never be able to e close to you again… I had just emerged from the Snake King valley after the rainy season, but was unable to go near Sauder… I just turned into a pile of shit the moment I approached the territory… I have never felt so useless before. Damn you Gu Mengmeng. You destroyed my longstanding indomitable reputation!”
