“No, I cannot stay here and fret. I must return now to find him!”
Chixuan was Gu Mengmeng’s soft spot. Cole just had to gently prod at it and she would lose all logic. No matter how Lea analyzed and explained the situation for her, she was unable to calm down.
Cole was insane. Who could guarantee that an insane person would still weigh the pros and cons?
Gregory looked at the agitated Gu Mengmeng and spoke up again, “He also said…”
Gu Mengmeng stopped struggling and let Lea hold her. She then glared wrathfully at Gregory, as if she could shoot those death looks through his eyes over to Cole.
Gregory did get the jitters from Gu Mengmeng’s glare.
One one hand, it was because Gu Mengmeng was the Beast King, on the other hand…
Ha, try being glared at in this manner by a girl you like. If it was you, you would get the jitters too.
Pursing his lips, Gregory cleared his throat before continuing. “He said you can spend the winter at the Motou mountains without any worries. He will give you a big present during the monsoon season next year.”
“No worries, my foot!” Gu Mengmeng shrugged Lea off before grabbing Gregory’s wrist. “Bring me back to Sauder. I want to go back now!”
Gregory remained still. He just looked at Gu Mengmeng quietly for a long while before shaking his head.
“I will repeat what I said. Go ahead and make your own way back if you want to, I won’t stop you.”
Gu Mengmeng clutched her own head and stomped around for a while before pinning Gregory onto the wall. “I will kill you if you don’t bring me!”
The corners of Gregory’s lips curved up in a faint smile. “Please go ahead.”
Gu Mengmeng raised her hand and aimed it at Gregory’s heart, ready to smash down on it.
But no matter how angry she was. No matter how anxious she was. Gu Mengmeng still had her limits.
Gregory had saved her life when she was in trouble. If she killed him, she would be repaying his kindness with ingratitude. She would be a cold-hearted snake then.
Wringing her hands, Gu Mengmeng suddenly smiled. She glanced at Gregory. “I heard that you like me.”
The blood in Gregory’s body froze. He stared at Gu Mengmeng with tightly knit brows.
That secret which he had tried so hard to conceal, had been laid out in public just like that. His heart jolted at the suddenness of the situation.
Gu Mengmeng slowly stepped backwards with a faint smile. “Send me back or I will jump down from here. Even with my Beast King powers, I cannot recover from being smashed to a pulp by the fall.”
Gregory frowned as he glanced at Elvis and Lea. He spoke in a cold tone, “If you jump, the two of them will be the first to join you in death.”
Gu Mengmeng lifted her chin. “No, they won’t. Elvis is a Beast King while Lea is a fourth-level beast. The two of them can withstand the counter damage from the mating contract.”
Gu Mengmeng took another step backward, all the while glaring resolutely at Gregory. “Enough talking. Let me ask you again. Will you send me back?”
Gregory remained standing there, unmoving. He was betting that Gu Mengmeng was bluffing and that she wouldn’t really jump.
Gu Mengmeng gritted her teeth and nodded. “Alright, don’t regret it.”
With that, Gu Mengmeng threw herself backwards and out the cave.
In that instant, the blood of those three males froze. Elvis reacted the fastest and instantly flew forward to engulf Gu Mengmeng tightly in his arms. With the chilly winds howling past their ears, Elvis said, “If you want to die, I will die with you.”
Gu Mengmeng had experienced this falling sensation multiple times whenever she woke up from her dream state. She was already used to it and was not afraid at all.
