“I like the way you two are so protective over me, taking care of things for me and always making the best decisions for my sake.” Gu Mengmeng wrapped her arms around Lea’s neck and stared straight into his eyes. She smiled. “Others are others, while we are who we are. I don’t believe in either male or female chauvinism. We are husband and wife and hold an equal footing in the family. Since I can be jealous of Miranda and not allow her to e close to you, why can’t you be jealous of other males and not allow them to approach me? As to threats and intimidation… you are taking it too seriously. Even though you sometimes say things that might scare me, they were only words and you have never done anything to harm me, right? So those threats are useless against me. The reason I give in….is not because I am afraid of your threats, but because I know since you are ‘threatening’ me, it means you don’t like it. I don’t wish to make you unhappy and so pretended to succumb to your threats. In my world, this is called a ruse and a way to spice up relationships. How did it turn into some unforgivable crime?”
“Really?” Lea looked skeptical. He probed. “The males in your other world will also threaten their females?”
Gu Mengmeng nodded with a smile. “Mmm. They often say things like ‘if you dare give out your telephone number to men who are flirting with you, I will break your legs’ or ‘if you leave me, I will kill you’. It’s very mon.”
Lea frowned and hugged Gu Mengmeng tightly. “I will never break your legs or kill you. I can’t bear to…”
Gu Mengmeng kissed Lea’s cheek with a smile. “Of course I know you can’t bear to. “Mmm.” Lea nodded. “As long as you don’t regret this. Nothing else matters.”
“Good boy.” Gu Mengmeng shook her head with a smile, before pushing Lea back a little and tilting her head in question. “So we are alright now? Don’t be so fussy and fretful anymore, okay? We are still at Sandy’s and have ended up chasing them out of the house.”
Lea chuckled and kissed Gu Mengmeng’s hand. “I will listen to you. Anything you say.”
