Gu Mengmeng wanted to turn him down. She felt that such a position was too suggestive.
Besides Lea and Elvis, she could not accept being hugged this way by others. Really, it felt extremely unfortable.

This answer made Gregory feel more at ease.
She was thanking him not because she was distancing from him, but because she was not used to him caring for her.
If he had a long time and more chances to take care of her, she would probably accept his gestures naturally like she would from Lea and Elvis, right?
“Have another one.” As he said that, Gregory plucked another Xue Ling fruit and placed it at her mouth. Seeing her swallow it, he then asked, “Do you feel much better after eating something?”
