Now reading: Chapter 219 219: Death of the Gulliver Brothers! from Becoming Enkidu in DxD, a Action novel by FaaanzKun.

The four Gulliver Brothers had been together since childhood—brothers not only by blood but also by soul.

Born of the sa mother, their bond was deep and unbreakable. That brotherhood had always been their greatest strength… and their everything.

Alfrigg Gulliver – the eldest.

Dvalinn Gulliver – the second.

Berling Gulliver – the third.

Grer Gulliver – the youngest.

Together, they were one heart and one mind. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call them a single entity.

But now, Grer was dead. And with his death, the three remaining brothers were consud by a storm of grief and fury.

"Your brotherly bond is admirable..." Akira's voice rang out calmly, but with unwavering finality. "But to those who seek to kill , I offer only one response—total annihilation. And if your youngest is already dead, then it would be unjust to let the rest of you live."

That quiet statent, spoken from the mouth of the King of the Shadowkhan, carried the full weight of absolute authority.

For the first ti, Akira released the true aura of a ruler—a monarch whose will alone bent the world to his command.

Even without unleashing magic or divine skills, a true king needed only to stand tall to inspire awe.

Like the legendary First Emperor of a faraway land—who ended the warring era, unified kingdoms, crushed six rival states, and forged an empire under one na—Akira now radiated the sa fearso presence.

Even when rebellion lingered in the empire, as long as that emperor breathed, no enemy dared raise their head. Even in weakness, even in sickness—power was still power.

And now—

Hum—

Behind Akira, a massive throne erged from the shadows. Forged from a tal blacker than night and oozing a dreadful pressure, the dark throne declared its master's dominion.

As Akira sat upon it, countless shadowy tendrils curled and writhed outward like living creatures.

From the abyss below, legions of Shadowkhan soldiers rose in silence, one after another.

Without exception, they all knelt on one knee, bowing their heads in reverence to their master.

The Dark King.

That was the only thought echoing in the minds of the three surviving Gulliver Brothers… and in the distant heart of Bell Cranel, who watched from afar.

"Gulliver Brothers… the mont you chose to raise your weapons against , your fates were sealed."

Akira's voice rang like a royal decree—a sentence handed down to rebellious subordinates.

The weight of futility pressed down on the brothers, stifling and inescapable.

"I don't care who you are. You die today!"

Alfrigg, the eldest, roared and lunged forward with terrifying speed, his spear gleaming with lethal intent.

Dvalinn and Berling flanked him from both sides, forming their signature triangle formation—an attack pattern honed through countless battles.

Even with one missing, the three moved as one. Fueled by grief and rage over their little brother's death, their power surged to its peak.

Whoosh—

But before they could land a single blow, a blade of shadow descended from above—

—and in a flash, Alfrigg's head was severed cleanly from his shoulders.

"B-Brother?!"

"Brother!!"

The suddenness of it stole the breath from Dvalinn and Berling.

Alfrigg's head rolled to the ground. His lifeless body followed. His spear clattered beside him. His eyes were still wide—he had died without even understanding how.

In the span of re seconds, they had lost both their youngest and their eldest brother.

Clack. Clack.

But this was no place for mourning. This battlefield had no rcy.

Dark tendrils lashed out once more—grabbing their arms and legs and hoisting them skyward in a stretched "X" formation.

Their weapons fell from their grasp. No matter how hard they struggled, there was no escape.

"…Pathetic. All four of you… so weak."

Akira stood tall, eyes filled with quiet disappointnt as he gazed at the last two.

Four against one. Not a single one managed to land a hit.

So this was the so-called "Blessing" from the gods?

So fragile.

"You bastard!!"

"Damn you!!"

They writhed and cursed. But when they realized it was futile… they simply glared.

Their eyes blazed—not with fear, but hatred. Pure, undiluted hatred.

"Kill us already! What are you waiting for?! Because if you don't—"

Crunch!

Before the threat could be completed, a shadow claw pierced one of their chests. Bones shattered. Blood sprayed.

Akira hated empty threats from those already standing on death's door.

"Oh? You were going to kill if I spared you?" he murmured. "Too bad. I never planned on letting you go."

"Brother… I'll join you soon."

"Oh? No curse? No hatred in your final words?"

"You defeated us today. That's the truth. But soday… soone will bring you down. We'll be waiting… in the underworld."

His final glare burned with undying rage.

But Akira only narrowed his eyes.

"No… You won't be seeing anything down there. Not even in death will your souls find freedom. In my domain—no soul escapes."

"…What?"

Smash!

The claw returned, tearing through his chest. His body crumpled.

Thud. Thud.

Two lifeless bodies hit the ground.

Dark shadows slithered beneath them, swallowing the corpses whole.

In this Shadow Domain, fallen souls were devoured—transford into nourishnt for the ever-growing army of darkness.

The strong beca monsters. The weak were erased.

And just like that… the infamous Gulliver Brothers of the Freya Familia—four brothers known across Orario—were no more.

Akira dismissed the throne. The Shadow Domain closed. The tendrils receded. All was silent.

As if nothing had happened.

Only Akira, at the heart of it all, and Bell, who stood watching nearby, knew the truth—that four of Orario's proud warriors had perished here.

"Akira-nii… you…"

"Bell… This is who I really am."

Akira's gaze didn't waver.

"I'm not a good person. I never kill without reason… but if soone tries to kill , I won't hesitate to kill them first."

"…I know. This wasn't your fault, Akira-nii."

Bell's voice was quiet but firm.

He was kind, yes—but he wasn't naive.

He understood that in this world, those who kill must be prepared to die.

And more than anything else—he knew.

The one standing in front of him… was Shin Akira.

And he had no right to judge him.
