Now reading: Chapter 356 356: At Last, the Uruk Dynasty! from Becoming Enkidu in DxD, a Action novel by FaaanzKun.

King Gilgash, after returning from his journey in search of immortality and eternal life following the death of his close friend, Enkidu.

Now ruled the lands of ancient sopotamia, the region of Uruk, as a Wise King.

In legend, he was known as "He Who Saw Everything."

At tis cruel. At tis full of understanding, he led his people firmly as the Great King of Uruk.

Across the countless worlds of Type-Moon, Gilgash existed in many forms at different stages. The most famous among them was the "Tyrant Flash." In the Fourth Holy Grail War, the Fifth Holy Grail War, and even in several parallel worlds, traces of him could always be found.

However, the current Gilgash was "Sage King Flash." If he had to be assigned a Class, then he would undoubtedly fall under the "Caster" Class.

Uruk at this ti was one of the oldest dynasties. In this era, a king's residence also served as a temple where the gods were worshipped.

This place could be called the "King's Palace." After all, in this age—especially in sopotamia—kings still upheld the system of the "divine right of kings," and Gilgash was the king who had shattered that very system.

Inside the temple, Gilgash sat upon his throne.

However, his throne was not one made from rare jewels or gleaming gold. Instead, it was carved and chiseled from stone.

After all, in this era, both refining and processing techniques were still in an extrely primitive stage.

Beside him lay piles of clay tablets. This was how Uruk currently recorded and conveyed information—by carving words onto clay tablets. Compared to paper, the process was countless tis more troubleso.

The current Gilgash had restrained much of the short temper he once possessed in the past, becoming a king who ruled with exceptional firmness and clarity.

"My King, this is the clay tablet that has just been delivered from the Northern Wall. Lord Leonidas sent it with great urgency."

A woman dressed in priestess robes, her face veiled with a thin layer of cloth, stepped in and spoke.

"Hm? A clay tablet sent urgently by Leonidas? What is that man up to now?"

Although puzzled, Gilgash still accepted the tablet. Leonidas was not soone who acted without reason. If he had sent sothing urgently, then sothing important must have occurred.

As he read the contents inscribed on the clay tablet, Gilgash's expression grew slightly more serious.

A powerful man claiming to be a "visitor from a foreign land." Not a Servant, yet possessing strength not inferior to one. Soone capable of summoning shadow soldiers, who had easily slaughtered a group of Magical Beasts.

He was currently at the Northern Wall and, around dusk, would arrive in Uruk together with Leonidas.

"My King, what is it?"

Seeing the change in Gilgash's expression, Siduri asked.

"It's nothing. Just that an interesting man has appeared. At a ti like this, an unknown individual has breached the Northern Wall, and even I did not 'see' him."

"Even my King could not 'see' him?"

Siduri was slightly shocked. As a priestess, she naturally knew of their king's Clairvoyance—his ability to glimpse fragnts of the future.

And she was no ordinary priestess. Ever since many years ago, when Enkidu was still alive, she had already been serving King Gilgash.

If one had to count, Siduri was undoubtedly among the people Gilgash trusted the most.

"However, there is no need to worry too much. Though Clairvoyance can see parts of the future, it cannot penetrate everything. Still, at a ti like this, it may beco sowhat troubleso. Siduri, tomorrow, have him co to et ."

"Understood, my King. I have taken note of it."

With that, the matter was considered settled.

For Gilgash, the burden of work was extrely heavy. Therefore, it was impossible for him to devote too much attention to a single matter. The only reason he paid it any mind at all was because the report had co from Leonidas.

One by one, Gilgash picked up the clay tablets. After reading each one, he imdiately issued the appropriate arrangents and decisions.

In Uruk, nearly all matters—big or small—were handled directly by Gilgash, even the most trivial ones.

Not because Gilgash wished to monopolize everything, but because of the lack of manpower.

Ti slowly passed, and before anyone realized it, the sun had begun to set.

Under the reddish glow of dusk, Leonidas and Akira arrived before an enormous ancient city.

"Wow… it really is a magnificent city."

"Indeed. The City of Uruk is the largest and most prosperous city in all of sopotamia."

"That's truly amazing."

Although the city walls were rely constructed from stone and clay, not particularly tall, nor did they appear especially grand or imposing.

However, one must rember that this was ancient sopotamia in the year 2655 BC. In an era like this, a city of such scale could already be considered the pinnacle of unprecedented power.

All of this most likely had to be credited to that "Wise King."

"Lord Leonidas, you have returned."

As soon as they arrived at the city gate, the guards on duty spoke respectfully.

"Ah, I've returned. How is Uruk today?"

"Thank you for your concern. Nothing has happened today. Everything is safe and peaceful."

"Good. Very good."

They chatted briefly, and then the group entered the city with steady, confident steps.

After entering the city, Akira quickly noticed sothing—everyone along the streets, including the children, wore happy smiles on their faces.

And once Leonidas entered, every gaze directed at him was filled with respect.

Many people paused when they saw Leonidas, then bowed slightly in greeting as a sign of honor.

This was Leonidas's current reputation in Uruk. It all ca from his role as a powerful general who fought on the front lines every single day against Magical Beasts to protect them. Because of that, all the citizens of Uruk held deep gratitude and respect toward him.

"Lord Leonidas, is this the visitor from the foreign land?"

The priestess Siduri had been waiting here for quite so ti. After all, this was King Gilgash's order, and naturally she had to handle it properly.

"Yes, that's right. He's the one."

Leonidas laughed heartily as he patted Akira on the shoulder.

Akira felt slightly helpless. This man who seed to be made entirely of muscle was surprisingly perceptive. Still, he didn't dwell on it too much.

"Hello, my na is Shin Akira. I'm a traveler from outside sopotamia."

"Hello, I'm Siduri. I am a priestess who serves King Gilgash. It's a pleasure to et you."

"Nice to et you as well."

At that mont, the two were considered to have formally introduced themselves.

And of course, Akira knew this priestess—both from Enkidu's inherited mories and from the knowledge he had gained long ago when he had followed this story.
