Chapter 52: Tiamat Has Awakened!
"Cough—!"
Just as everyone began to feel a sense of relief, thinking they had escaped danger, rlin suddenly coughed up a spray of blood.
His form began to waver, turning unstable and fading at the edges. A Servant is, at their core, a body composed of Mana; if they receive a fatal blow that causes elimination, they simply vanish.
"rlin, what’s happening? How could you..."
"I see. So, that’s how it is."
rlin, whose body was already beginning to dissolve into shimring grains of golden light, suddenly realized he had been trapped.
Boom—!
At that exact mont, a figure plumted from the sky, slamming into the earth with enough force to create a deep crater.
"Am I too late? It seems Gorgon has been defeated."
The person who arrived was a woman, a face far too familiar to everyone present.
It was Kingu, the new Enkidu of sopotamia—and the child of the Mother Goddess, Tiamat.
"Hm? Nightmare, you’re still here? Now that Gorgon has been taken down, you should be disappearing too."
"I truly didn’t expect it," rlin admitted. "In this duel of deceptions, it seems I’m the one who lost."
"Indeed. All this ti, I have moved for the sake of awakening Mother," Kingu said. "But you bastard... you let Mother slumber within a prison of dreams, which made things very difficult for ."
"Cough, cough... I see. So, the ’Potnia Theron’ authority Gorgon possessed wasn’t a fake. It was a real authority, synchronized with the actual Tiamat."
"Correct. I tried many thods, but I couldn’t wake Mother. Finally, I found a specific way," Kingu explained. "If awakening her while she lived didn’t work, then I simply had to let her die once."
Kingu looked at them with a cold smile. "I should thank you all. You defeated Gorgon, and because Mother was synchronized with her, she received the impact of that death as well. Naturally, that dream prison can no longer lead Mother astray."
"Damn it... I really didn’t see this coming."
rlin was filled with self-reproach for being so careless.
Looking back, it was clearly abnormal for a child of Tiamat to follow Gorgon so loyally, even calling her Mother. But because he possessed ’Clairvoyance,’ he could ’see’ that Tiamat remained in her slumber, which had caused him to lower his guard completely.
"Now then, witness the true form of our ’Mother’ with your own eyes."
After leaving them with those words, Kingu slowly rose into the air and vanished in an instant.
Now that Mother was awake, she had to find Akira so they could go et her together. As her child, now that Mother had awakened, she had to return to her side.
"Cough, cough... This is going to be a real problem."
With Kingu gone, rlin, who had been pushing himself to the limit, finally reached his breaking point.
A massive amount of golden light particles drifted away from his body; his elimination was now a certainty.
"rlin! Are you okay?"
Fujimaru Ritsuka rushed to support rlin, about to ask a frantic question, but rlin cut him off.
"Listen closely. You must return to Uruk imdiately. Even though that being has awakened, she shouldn’t have started her move just yet."
"Even if destruction is inevitable, there are still tactics we can use."
"Deliver this ssage to King Gilgash:"
"A Beast that can only be fought by seven Grand Classes... the Beast of Regression that devours human logic... the Sea of Life, the Mother of Genesis... one of the seven Beasts of Humanity who represents the Beast of Sin... has awakened."
As the final syllable left his lips, rlin reached his end.
He was eliminated from this sopotamia.
"rlin..."
Watching rlin disappear, Fujimaru Ritsuka felt a heavy wave of grief. rlin had been a constant source of help to him.
At that mont, Mash also returned. Seeing rlin gone, she felt the sa pang of sorrow.
"Master, what should we do next?"
In this world, because of Shin Akira’s existence, the tiline had been shattered beyond recognition. The Fujimaru Ritsuka of this world had arrived right at the doorstep of the endga.
The ’bonds’ that should have been forged were missing, leaving him feeling utterly powerless.
Furthermore, rlin had asked him to deliver a ssage to King Gilgash, but he doubted he’d even be allowed back into the city after being exiled.
When he looked at Mash, his eyes flickered with fear and a sense of distance.
Because Mash had obtained Shin Akira’s power, he was now plagued by doubt—he didn’t know if the Mash standing before him was an ally or a foe.
Humans are suspicious creatures by nature, especially in a foreign land without a sense of security. That was the reality of his current state.
Mash, who had received the blood of the Demon Race and could now be considered a half-demon existence, naturally caught the subtle shift in Fujimaru Ritsuka’s deanor.
But she didn’t bla him. The truth was, she was the one who couldn’t resist the temptation and had fallen into darkness.
"We’re going back to Uruk. We have to tell King Gilgash everything."
"Yes, Master."
On the surface, they seed the sa as always, but both understood that a small crack had appeared between them.
Sotis, a single subconscious action or an accidental word is enough to shatter a sincere friendship.
On the other side of sopotamia, deep within a lush forest, Shin Akira already knew of Tiamat’s awakening.
The mont she opened her eyes, Akira had received a call from her.
"Onii-chan, Mother is awake. We have to go."
"Yeah, it’s about ti."
Akira stood up. Beside him, Kingu—who had just returned—wore an expression of intense emotion.
Mother. He could finally go see Mother.
"Are you leaving?"
Quetzalcoatl walked over, her gaze toward Akira incredibly warm.
"Yeah, I’m going to see Mother first. Once everything is settled, I’ll co back for you."
"I’ll be waiting for you."
"Ehm."
The two looked at each other, sharing a quiet, understanding smile.
Then, Akira and Kingu took to the skies. After giving Quetzalcoatl a reassuring smile, they departed.
Two silhouettes streaked across the horizon, heading straight for the open waters of the Persian Gulf.
"Mooo..."
Deep within the sea, a black-red substance began to rise from the depths.
The entire surface of the ocean began to manifest a vast area of the Chaos Tide. Any life form or Heroic Spirit that touched this tide would be infected, corrupted, and eventually transford into one of Tiamat’s children.
