Now reading: Chapter 110: [Fish] - Nerio’s Part (22) from Becoming a God Starts with Acting, a Fantasy novel by OrangeLee.

The servants in the castle had been entirely replaced by puppets controlled by Mr. and Mrs. William, bringing back a semblance of peace—but it didn’t last long. As Elena grew older, Mr. and Mrs. William began to feel increasingly disgusted by her.

This was because, unlike Lucian, who could now switch between a fishtail and human legs, Elena remained stuck in that hideous, monstrous form. This displeased Mr. and Mrs. William deeply. Every ti they looked at Elena, they were reminded of what they beca at night—when they could no longer control their urges, transforming into grotesque monsters. They were also rfolk, but never beautiful ones like Lucian. Perhaps that was why Lucian received all the love and affection while Elena was left with nothing but neglect and disdain.

Realizing their condition was worsening, Mr. and Mrs. William turned to the sorcerer who had once helped them. The sorcerer offered a solution: if they sacrificed one of their children to bind the rmaid scale, they could temporarily suppress their transformations and retain their intellect, even in monstrous form.

Naturally, the child chosen for the sacrifice was none other than Elena—the one they despised.

Following the sorcerer’s instructions, they sacrificed Elena—literally. She was killed. Peace returned to the castle, and Mr. and Mrs. William reaped the benefits of the ritual.

However, as ti passed, they realized sothing even more dreadful: Elena continued to appear every night. When the water turned eerie, her voice would echo endlessly in their ears, haunting them.

This ti, not even the sorcerer ca to their aid—he vanished as if he had never existed.

Mr. and Mrs. William had no choice but to reestablish order in the castle through strict rules, continually offering fresh blood to the rmaid scale to keep Elena sealed beneath the water. As long as the scale remained in their possession, Elena would never escape the water—and the William family’s prosperity would remain eternal.

This was what Silvanus had pieced together from it all. However, he couldn’t help but recall one detail: Elena had said the rmaid scale was hers. That led Silvanus to a new theory—the scale truly belonged to Elena. Perhaps she was the reincarnated soul of the original rmaid, returned to this family to punish those who had stolen the sacred scale despite being warned.

Dungeon narratives were never that simple. One way or another, with or without help, Elena would eventually reclaim the scale and unleash a massive massacre—one in which humanity and the Williams would be wiped out together. Or even without the scale, she would still "awaken" her power. After all, dungeons were the ho turf of monsters—where they were always unfairly strong.

In the end, the conclusion was always the sa: humanity would be slaughtered. Even if two opposing factions of monsters were within the dungeon, that outco was inevitable.

[I wonder what Nerio is thinking...]

[Soone’s still awake? Don’t you people sleep? Bunch of crazy fans.]

[Not all of us are fans, you know. So of us are just up late.]

[I want to know what Nerio will do next. I feel like he could do sothing "wow" at any mont—I can’t miss a second.]

[I’m not sure who the real fanatics are anymore.]

[With Nerio’s face, I could stay up all night just staring at him—who needs sleep? I don’t need sleep... unless it’s with Nerio!!!]

Despite the increasingly outrageous comnts from fans, Silvanus remained expressionless. It all felt so familiar—like he’d already seen it too many tis. Still, every comnt ntioning him under the na "Nerio" brought in many acting points. It was all acting points—nothing to complain about.

The viewers wanted sothing wow, didn’t they?

He figured maybe... he could give them sothing really wow.

With that thought, Silvanus stood up without hesitation.

At this mont, he was Lucian.

Outside, the sky had already brightened. Ti always passed strangely inside the dungeon.

Lucian didn’t go downstairs but instead headed straight for Mr. William’s room right next to his.

"Father, it’s ," Lucian said as he knocked on the door.

The door automatically opened before him. As he stepped inside, he saw that Mr. William was already awake, dressed neatly.

It was no surprise the female NPCs were drawn to him. He wasn’t just wealthy but also incredibly handso. Ti didn’t seem to touch him—especially now that he had beco half-monster, he no longer aged.

"How was the hunt? Did you bring them back for the offering to the god?" Mr. William asked in a low voice as he sat in his chair.

Only then did Lucian seem to rember. Guilt washed over him, and he lowered his head slightly, replying softly, "I forgot, Father. They bled out."

Mr. William frowned slightly, though he didn’t seem too bothered. "No matter, we still have reserves. Let’s go—co with to offer the sacrifice."

Hearing this, Silvanus couldn’t help glancing toward the live broadcast room. At that mont, Cocona’s group split into two directions: one stayed behind to handle the butler and the William family mbers during breakfast. At the sa ti, the other sneaked up to the third floor. Perhaps they didn’t know that Mr. William’s offering schedule wasn’t fixed—he’d go whenever he felt like feeding the fish scales.

Of course, Silvanus wouldn’t let Mr. William leave his position.

Suddenly, Lucian stepped forward and sat on his father’s lap.

Mr. William looked at his son in surprise, clearly taken aback and not understanding why he was doing this.

Lucian wrapped his arms around his father’s neck and said softly, "I just want you to hold ... like when I was little."

Mr. William raised an eyebrow, and Lucian continued, "I don’t know why, but lately... I miss my sister."

Upon hearing that, Mr. William’s expression subtly changed. He gently patted Lucian’s head and softly asked, "Has sothing happened, my son?"

Lucian didn’t respond. He just nestled into Mr. William’s chest like a child seeking shelter—fragile and pitiful.

[...] [...] [hmmmmmmm]

[That’s wow enough already]

[No, Nerio should be the one sitting on my lap!!! William moves overrrrr, this is unacceptable!!!!!]

[I heard human nobles in the past used to have so weird fetishes...]

[Excuse , the ones with weird fetishes here are the gods, alright? I heard that in human mythology, gods had so very special kinks. You’d be shocked.]

[Yeah yeah yeah, insects, insects insects insects]

[The comnt section is contaminated right now. Are the live broadcast rules not working anymore?]

[Maybe the rules are enjoying the drama, too hahahahaha]

[Please, Nerio, there are so many eyes watching. Whatever special kink you’ve got, hold it in, okay? huhuhuhuhu, control the beast inside you!]

[He doesn’t even know he’s being broadcast live hahahaha]

[Am I the only one excited to see what happens next? I am wondering if the rules will cut the stream if Nerio does sothing lol]

[I bet it’ll get pixel-censored lmao]

[I’ve taken off my pants already, Nerio. Hurry up and do whatever!!!]

[Calm down, bro. Nerio hasn’t even done anything yet]

[No saving this now]
