Silvanus also thought that Drake would throw him against the wall, but it seed the man still had a shred of humanity left.

At this mont, Silvanus shifted his gaze to the people in the room. Mason was still unconscious on one side, but what truly caught Silvanus's attention was John's emaciated body, reduced to little more than skin and bones on the ground, and Stall's withered hands, completely drained of life.

The others had noticed as well. Jessica quickly recounted what had happened after Drake's group left:

"...John was gravely injured. We couldn't stop the bleeding, and within minutes, he ended up like this—a dried-up corpse. As for Stall, his hands were wounded by the spikes on the monster's body when he tried to pull it off John's face."

Hearing this, Ron spoke in a low voice, "It looks like if these monsters directly wound us, we'll end up as dried corpses."

Stall instinctively glanced at Drake, noting the many wounds on his body. Despite Drake's extraordinary healing abilities, so of his injuries were still bleeding. It wasn't hard to imagine how fierce his battle must have been.

Ron explained, "The giant monster caused the wounds on the Captain and Fiona."

While bandaging her wounds, Fiona spoke seriously, "Right now, we can roughly categorize three types of monsters. The two counts from this morning, Leo, who is likely the giant multi-ard creature, and the child-like monsters."

Her expression grew more solemn as she spoke, and the others furrowed their brows. This was the first Dungeon where multiple types of monsters had appeared; worse yet, these creatures were mighty.

"This isn't the ti to be worrying about that. Why don't we talk about this god first?" Jessica suddenly said.

Drake, sitting off to the side, raised an eyebrow at her. "You seem quite interested in the Prophet."

Jessica smiled. "Isn't that natural? After all, this is the first ti a god has appeared. People from a governnt organization like yours must know things that ordinary people like us don't."

Drake let out a cold laugh and stood up, towering over Jessica. "I think you're the one who knows things we don't, believer of the angel Lucifer. Did you think no one would recognize you just because you're not wearing your cloak?"

Hellfire was far too conspicuous of an ability.

Drake only needed a glance at the piles of ash on the ground to guess Jessica's identity.

Jessica smiled and said nothing. The two of them locked eyes in a silent standoff as if sparks were about to fly.

[Fight, fight! Humans aren't fighting monsters but slaughtering each other instead—just the thought of it is thrilling!]

[This god is supposedly the weakest one, yet he's already managed to trigger a civil war among humans?]

[I don't think Drake's speculation is wrong. I have a feeling Jessica knows sothing.]

[Enough talking—fight already! The winner gets the beauty, hahaha!]

[Hahaha, the beauty, hahaha...]

Silvanus: "..." What did he do to deserve this?!

But thinking about it, Jessica was an outstanding believer in the angel Lucifer. Now that she was paying attention to him, it could only an that Lucifer might have also noticed him. As a false god, Silvanus truly started trembling.

Drake suddenly waved his hand dismissively and said, "Ha, just a weak god. If you're so interested, why don't you beco his believer?"

Then he turned to the Prophet and called out loudly, "Hey, you want to take her in as your believer? While you're at it, let off the hook, too." After all, Drake had no intention of being a follower of so weak god! To him, a true god should at least wield a massive blade and cut down monsters wherever they went!

Drake was rely provoking Jessica and Prophet, but to his surprise, the mont he finished speaking, Jessica walked toward Prophet, smiling. "Hello, I'm Jessica. Would you consider my request to beco your believer?"

Silvanus: "?!" Oh no, could it be that Lucifer had taken notice of him?

"You!" Drake's brows furrowed tightly.

[Hahaha, look at Drake's furious expression! He's the one who suggested it, and now he's the one getting mad.]

[I'm starting to find this all a bit dull. When will humanity finally expose everything and summon the demon?]

[They already have the Prophet. He must know that exposing the cris of the Count brothers will lead to the demon's descent...]

[So what? If they don't expose the brothers' cris, humanity won't even get the chance to escape. It's a dead-end ga—unless humanity can defeat the demons!]

[I don't know about the rest of humanity, but if Drake and Jessica work together, they might stand a chance.]

I'm looking forward to it! Prophet, hurry up and push things forward—find the gardener and uncover the secret!!!]

[Why does everyone have so much faith in the Prophet? He was introduced as the weakest god. What if his ability to foresee the future has limits? His eyes bleed whenever he makes a prophecy, and his body seems to grow weaker!]

Silvanus silently read all the comnts: "..." Thanks, now I can predict even more.

The others only saw Prophet sitting on the bed, seemingly in a daze, not even acknowledging Jessica's words.

Jessica's smile stiffened slightly while Drake sneered at her. "See? I'm so exceptional that he doesn't want to swap out. Too bad for you."

Jessica looked at Drake, her smile now completely gone. Seeing this, Drake was even more pleased. He was full of contradictions—he didn't want to be a believer in a useless god, but if that sa god rejected him in favor of soone else, it would make him feel inferior to them, which only made him angrier.

He glanced at Prophet, smirking. "At least you have so sense. Not completely stupid."

Prophet still said nothing. Drake, growing more irritated, snapped, "Are you mute or what?"

Only then did Prophet glance at him. And then... he turned around, lay on the bed, pulled the blanket over his head, and remained ultimately still.

Drake: "..." A vein twitched on his forehead as he clenched his fists so tightly that his bones cracked audibly.

Ron quickly stepped in to intervene. "Captain, it's late. Maybe Prophet is just feeling tired."

Drake let out a cold laugh, shoved Ron's hand aside, then sat on the floor, closing his eyes to rest. If he looked at Prophet any longer, he might not be able to stop himself from strangling him.

Ron wiped away his cold sweat, utterly baffled as to why their captain had summoned a god who seed to be his nesis.

.

The following day, everyone in the room was jolted awake by Mason's terrified screams.

They turned to see Mason writhing on the ground, his eyes locked onto John's corpse nearby, screaming nonstop, tears and snot covering his face.

Thunk!

Suddenly, Drake's massive blade flew through the air, slicing past Mason's face with a gust of wind so sharp it stung his skin.

Mason froze, his screams cut off instantly. His body trembled, and before he could even process what had happened, the pungent stench of urine filled the air—he had pissed himself out of fear.

"Pathetic," Drake said coldly.

Mason, caught between anger and terror, could only shiver in silence.

Stall, standing nearby, offered a rare mont of kindness. "Monsters attacked last night. John is dead."

Mason mumbled like a man possessed, "I'm going to die too... we're all going to die... we're all going to die..."
