Inside the coffin lay the naked body of a woman—her beautiful face serene, brown hair cascading softly, eyes tightly shut.

Fiona almost imdiately looked away, feigning interest as she asked Nyx, "Do you think they’ll censor this part when it’s broadcast?"

Nyx ignored her, her gaze fixed on the woman inside the coffin—the one bearing the face of Mrs. Andersen.

The woman clearly no longer breathed, yet her body still seed warm; a faint flush lingered on her cheeks. Rather than a corpse, she looked more like soone in a deep, tranquil sleep.

"If Mrs. Andersen’s body is here... then who’s the one out there?" Nyx muttered.

Just then, Fiona suddenly shouted her na. Nyx frowned and turned to look—only to find that holes of varying sizes had appeared above their heads. Not long ago, this had been a sealed space, and the hole they’d fallen through had already been covered.

"Is that the exit? But it’s way too small for anyone to fit through," Fiona grumbled. She gave Nyx a quick once-over, then sighed. "Even you couldn’t squeeze out of that."

Nyx brushed off the arm Fiona had wrapped around her waist and coldly warned, "Touch again, and I’ll cut your hand off."

Fiona frowned. "Fine, fine! I was estimating, no need to be so uptight."

Nyx was completely speechless at Fiona’s logic.

Then, Fiona suddenly tilted her head, as if hearing sothing. "I think... our ti’s almost up," she murmured.

When she said that, golden sand began pouring down from the newly ford holes.

It flowed rapidly, rising to their ankles within seconds.

Fiona muttered, "Well, guess we’re both dead then." With that, her sword clashed together, striking the walls in a frenzy—anywhere a chanism might be hidden—but it was futile, just like their previous search.

anwhile, Nyx carefully examined the area around the coffin, but found no way out. This was clearly a dead end—a true dead end. Any intruder trapped here would never escape.

Nyx suddenly looked up and said, "Fiona, find the hole we fell through."

Fiona had the sa thought. Her blades slashed upward relentlessly until a large chunk of rock finally broke apart, revealing the hole they’d fallen from.

She muttered, "From this height, I can jump up."

She pushed off the ground hard enough to leave two deep impressions beneath her feet.

But before she could reach the opening, a torrent of sand cascaded down—burying her beneath it almost instantly!

At the sa ti, the sand in the chamber began to rise even faster!

Fiona struggled to her feet. Her eyes t Nyx’s, and after a brief silence, she crossed her arms and said, "Well, looks like we’re going to die twice as fast now."

Nyx spoke softly, "I never thought I’d die in the sa place as you."

Fiona scoffed. "You still have ti to say stuff like that? Our deaths are going to be the dumbest in the history of top Espers!"

[Damn, even facing death, they still won’t let us be sad.]

[Strong people are different—they can stay calm even when dying... and still argue.]

[Alright then, Nyx and Fiona—I’ll rember you both.]

By now, the sand had reached their waists. The two fell silent, no longer saying a word.

Nyx briefly considered using her ability, but even if she bled herself dry, it wouldn’t be enough to turn this endless flow of sand into flowers.

It truly was a dead end.

Just then, the sound of sniffling echoed beside her. Nyx turned in shock, only to see Fiona crying as she looked at her.

"Nyx, I’m sorry for always teasing you," Fiona said between tears.

Before Nyx could respond, Fiona lifted her gaze toward the ceiling and continued, "Captain, thank you for helping through this journey. I’m really useless."

"Cocona, honestly, I’ve always admired you—but since my captain didn’t like you, I couldn’t say it out loud."

"Bella, I actually think you’re adorable. I love cute things. I just... wanted people to notice ."

Her tears stread down, her nose ran, and she wiped her face repeatedly before returning to Nyx. "You’re cute too. I’m sorry—sob sob sob."

Nyx: "..."

Honestly, Fiona seed determined to die without a shred of dignity left.

She’d said so much already that Nyx felt if they sohow survived this, Fiona would probably wish she hadn’t.

Then Fiona said, "Nyx, don’t you have any last words? We’re really going to die, sob sob sob!"

Nyx froze for a mont at that, death... dying?

Die? So what?! Even if she did die, she would still be a refined lady. The sight of Fiona crying with snot and tears running everywhere insulted her eyes!

By now, the sand had risen to their necks.

Fiona spoke again, "Actually... I like soone. I thought I’d carry this secret to the grave, but now I can’t hold it in..."

Nyx looked at Fiona and then at their predicant. She lowered her eyes, as if surrendering, and finally said, "Actually... I’ve always liked the president. President... I know you’re watching. I’m sorry I’ve been so useless..."

Fiona’s eyes widened in surprise. "I haven’t even said mine yet, and you’re speaking before ? Besides, doesn’t everyone already know this? You think you’re good at hiding it?"

Nyx’s face flushed red. She wanted nothing more than to strangle Fiona right then and there—after all, they were about to die!

But just at that mont, the entire space trembled slightly. Before Nyx and Fiona’s eyes, tiny sprouts suddenly pushed up through the hard stone.

Soon, they grew at an unbelievable speed, shooting up into small tree branches, and in no ti, the growth was nearly as tall as an average person.

The sound of cracking earth and stone filled the space. Vines reached out gently, wrapping around Fiona and Nyx’s waists and lifting them from the depths of the world.

Once they were set back on solid ground, both were montarily stunned, unable to react imdiately.

anwhile, the entire mansion seed to collapse around them—sinkholes had ford everywhere, as if the whole mansion could fall into these death pits buried deep underground at any mont.

Yet on the sofa, Dorian was holding a steaming cup of tea. Moonlight poured through the window, making his white suit almost glow.

Just from this corner, it looked as if the mansion had never been destroyed, untouched by any calamity.

Noticing their staring, Dorian suddenly turned his head, smiled, and said softly, "I’m a bit late—sorry. I’m not used to staying up late."

[Does even a god have to follow a regular sleep schedule? Haha, that’s funny.]

[Feels like Dorian could soak his feet and relax right here. It doesn’t suit him at all, but sohow, that’s precisely the feeling I get now.]

[Living like an older adult, really, haha.]
