Nick stared at the chicken wing in front of him, then looked at Silvanus, suddenly hopping in place. "Silvanus, I can be your attendant for life!"
Silvanus directly stuffed the chicken wing into Nick’s still-yamring mouth and said indifferently, "One chicken wing bought you already? You’re really cheap, Nick."
Nick gnawed at the chicken with all his might, completely forgetting about the subordinates on the other side who were teary-eyed while chewing on their rations. He said loudly, "Once this mission is done, I’ll disband the group right away and then follow you..."
Before he could finish, the subordinates on the other side erupted in protest.
"Big Bro, what are you saying?!"
"Yeah, we won’t chase away your love interest next ti, co back!"
Nick pretended not to hear them.
He kept eating while tears stread down his face, muttering, "This is the first ti in my life I’ve ever eaten sothing this good!"
Even Silvanus could not help glancing at him, cutting off another piece of at and handing it over. "Eat more."
Nick was deeply moved. "Silvanus, can I call you Father from today on? Father!"
As he spoke, he lunged forward. Vivian could not stand the sight of it and leaped up to block Silvanus, baring her teeth fiercely with a hiss.
Nick jumped in fright, but he was not scared at all. Instead, he looked at the little fox in front of him with admiration and curiosity. "Is this a divine beast?! That’s so cool!"
Hearing this, Vivian imdiately shut her mouth and lifted her chin high.
Nick kept going. "My god, just look at that smooth fur. This is clearly not ordinary fluff but a suit of silver armor. Look at those powerful yet beautiful legs, she’s definitely going to rule over all beasts in the future! And those ears and that tail too..."
Aaaa, my god, Silvanus absolutely has to take this person as a son!
Vivian thought wildly to herself.
At this point, Silvanus had to step in and separate one man and one beast. He said coldly, "Eat."
Nick nodded frantically. Vivian swayed her body, her big tail continuously curling as she showed off her graceful figure.
Silvanus could not help finding it amusing. He tapped Vivian on the forehead and muttered, "Who knows who you take after."
By nightfall, Nick still had to return to his group. The mbers all looked like they wanted to intimidate him into leaving, but after Nick suppressed them, they imdiately fell silent.
Two campfires were still flickering. Outside them was a large barrier ant to block unnecessary dangers and also to spare them from having to stand watch through the night.
Silvanus held Vivian and leaned against a tree. Vivian yawned and had long since fallen into a sweet dream.
In her dream, there were a thousand Nicks constantly kneeling and praising her, while she sat upon a throne, surrounded by all kinds of animals dancing without pause.
In front of her was a chicken as big as Silvanus himself.
Vivian smacked her lips, eating with great relish in the dream.
The surroundings sank into silence, leaving only steady breathing and the moon hanging high above.
Nick felt a little groggy.
He opened his eyes and saw that the fires on both sides had completely gone out. At this mont, there were only four people around him. One person was nowhere to be seen.
He frowned slightly, vaguely recalling that the missing person had said he was going to relieve himself, but it had been so long and he still had not returned.
Nick rubbed his brow and could only get up to look for him.
"Tsk, did he get bitten on the dick by a venomous snake or sothing, why isn’t he back yet..."
Nick complained under his breath, unaware that in the darkness, a real venomous snake was watching him.
They had already agreed on the place to go, so Nick followed the path to search.
The forest in the dead of night looked even more gloomy and frightening.
The only source of light was the small fla glowing in Nick’s palm.
Thankfully, a figure finally appeared ahead.
Nick frowned. "What are you doing, still not back yet..."
But right after that, he paused, because sothing about that figure was wrong.
He retreated backward, but that thing was faster.
He only heard a sharp tearing sound through the air. Nick hurriedly raised a shield, and at the sa ti, he finally saw what it was.
A pitch-black body, constantly oozing viscous sli. A shadow creature? But he had never seen anything like this before...
"Crack!"
With that single sound, countless fractures spread across the shield in front of Nick!
Nick frowned, horrified by the power of the thing, especially when it did not even seem to fear the light.
He tried to retreat, but at that very mont, arms of darkness suddenly burst up from the ground, tightly gripping his legs!
Nick staggered backward. A blade of light slashed through those arms, but there were far too many. One was cut down and another imdiately rose up. Clearly, the creature had no intention of giving him any chance to escape!
Nick’s attacks had no effect at all. He only saw the creature suddenly coil its body, then slam down violently. Nick’s shield shattered instantly! A gigantic blade of darkness also descended right in front of him!
"Boom! Bang!"
A deafening impact rang out, jolting everyone awake.
On the other side, Matthew stared at the scene in shock. Clearly, Nick no longer had a single layer of defense left, yet at the very mont the blade struck, an incomparably powerful and indestructible barrier of light appeared! The energy was so intense that it blasted Matthew backward, shattering him into countless drops of viscous sli.
Impossible impossible impossible!
He had been watching closely. Nick should not have been this strong! But what terrified Matthew even more was that everyone else must have awakened after that shock just now! How was he supposed to explain this?
"Damn it! Why did this happen?!"
Matthew roared inwardly.
The Outer God was no less astonished than Matthew.
It pondered for a mont. "Do not touch him anymore. He is protected by the world."
Matthew did not understand what those words ant, but the anger in his heart did not diminish in the slightest.
anwhile, Nick was on the verge of tears, his heart bleeding.
My last line of protection!!!
And that thing was not even dead. What the hell is it?!
Nick did not know. He could only run back as fast as he could.
On the other side, Silvanus was also frowning as he scanned the surroundings. Matthew had disappeared. In the other group, Nick and another team mber were also missing.
Ariana could not help moving closer to Silvanus. Thinking about how Nick and Matthew had vanished at the sa ti, she could not help suspecting that this had sothing to do with Matthew.
"Rumble! Rumble!"
At that mont, two tremors suddenly struck in quick succession.
The ground beneath their feet imdiately began to collapse.
A circular boundary spread outward, and they were almost right at its center.
"Ziggg—!"
Light suddenly flared, thick black smoke billowing upward. Before they could react, it had already ford into a gigantic magic circle!
In the next instant, everyone completely vanished.
Nick shut his eyes tight and ran like mad. He fearfully glanced back, and only then did he realize that the space had completely changed. From a dark, gloomy forest, it had abruptly turned into golden brick walls, forming winding paths and countless intersections.
Where is this?
