Vivian burst into laughter. "You will resurrect , Silvanus. When you find the path to the city in the sky, that will be the mont I awaken again..."

With the little strength Silvanus had left, he truly could not stop Vivian.

"Nick!" Silvanus let out a low roar, though to anyone else it sounded no more than a weak, breathy rasp.

Nick hurried forward, as if to pull Vivian away, but at that mont, Vivian’s mouth had already reached the teeth of the skull.

Vivian felt deeply unfairly treated. Until the very mont of her death, she had not even been able to see Silvanus’s face one last ti.

It did not matter. They had already made a promise...

Vivian thought silently as her body slipped downward.

There was no dazzling light at all. The instant Vivian touched Silvanus, a powerful surge of soul energy flooded in, repairing Silvanus’s soul completely in the blink of an eye, leaving not a single crack behind.

At the sa ti, Silvanus’s body began to transform. Flesh grew rapidly, black hair falling slightly past his shoulders. His eyes were pitch-black, his skin deathly pale, carrying a cold hue as if it would never again be touched by sunlight, even bearing an almost corpse-like chill. In his palm now lay Vivian’s small, cold body.

Everything happened far too quickly, so fast that Nick did not even have ti to react.

By instinct, he looked toward Silvanus, only to see him silently staring at Vivian, as if simply continuing to look at her might bring her back to life.

Of course, that would never happen. Still, not a single tear fell. Silvanus looked almost dazed. Perhaps Vivian’s words had taken effect. Perhaps Silvanus had already begun thinking of a way to resurrect her.

Nick thought this to himself, unaware that Undead did not cry, because they had no tears.

Silvanus remained like that for an unknown length of ti, until Nick’s stomach suddenly growled once more.

The corner of Silvanus’s eye twitched slightly as he slowly turned his gaze toward Nick.

Nick laughed awkwardly and scratched his head.

Just then, Vivian disappeared from Silvanus’s palm. He had carefully stored her away.

No one knew what Silvanus had been thinking, nor what decisions he had made in his mind.

Nick only knew that Silvanus’s expression was icy cold, as if his facial muscles no longer moved at all. Perhaps it was because he was an Undead, and so even expressions had vanished from his face.

Nick thought to himself. At this mont, Silvanus was also rummaging through his spatial storage and took out food. What appeared was a huge chicken leg.

Nick’s eyes widened as he accepted the chicken leg. He was just about to take a big bite when he suddenly stopped, then offered it back to Silvanus, smiling as he said, "You eat first. You’re still injured..."

Despite his words, his eyes were fixed on the chicken leg, saliva practically about to drip from the corner of his mouth.

Silvanus shook his head. "I don’t eat."

That made sense. Silvanus was not human anymore.

Nick thought so and imdiately took a huge bite. The chicken leg was truly enormous. If it had been a whole chicken, it would probably have stood nearly half a person tall. Nick could not help thinking to himself, brimming with excitent, "You even keep food in your storage. That’s amazing..."

"They were Vivian’s snacks," Silvanus said softly, and Nick felt his throat tighten.

Silvanus looked at him in confusion. "Eat. Without Vivian, there’s no one to deal with them."

Nick felt a deep pang of sorrow. "You can treat as Vivian’s replacent if you want. I don’t mind."

Silvanus truly could not understand how Nick’s mind worked, much like how he sotis could not understand Vivian either.

He only said quietly, "No one can replace Vivian, and no one can replace you either, Nick. Everyone has a aning that makes them special to ."

Nick fell silent.

Clearly, there was no expression on Silvanus’s face, yet Nick felt this weighed heavier than if Silvanus had burst into tears.

At least if Silvanus cried, Nick would know he was releasing his emotions. But now, it was as if all feelings had been forcibly pressed down.

Perhaps they needed a drink. Nick thought to himself, deciding that once they made it out of Chaosland, he would definitely drag Silvanus along to try so beer, to see whether beer in the Land of Darkness tasted any different from beer in the Land of Light.

But then again... did the Land of Darkness even have beer? Legend said that even if it did, there would only be bones and skulls, barren ground littered with gravel.

Nick sank into his own thoughts, while Silvanus, off to the side, had already begun to read Lichina’s notes with focused attention.

Outside Chaosland.

The campaign to eliminate Lichina had concluded with great success. The team sent to hunt down Silvanus also returned bearing news of victory. Although no one had seen Silvanus’s remains, there was no denying that the darkness had been completely eradicated, as if a new, peaceful future had been opened for the Land of Light. This trendous achievent even temporarily eased the ever-fernting tension between the nobles and the commoners.

On this day, a grand celebration banquet was held in the main square of Lumina, inviting all warriors with outstanding rits to gather and be honored for the glory of the continent.

Dorian, who had achieved great military rit in this assault, was naturally invited as well. He could hardly wait to see Silvanus and was even allowed to leave earlier than scheduled. As for rewards and comndations, Dorian did not care much about them at all.

The scenery outside was indeed very different from Eldoria, but from an objective point of view, Dorian felt that Eldoria was far more peaceful and prosperous than Luminous.

Still, this was the place where Silvanus had grown up. He could not help wondering which places Silvanus would take him to.

At this mont, in the preparation area for Lumina’s students.

All the students who had participated in the battle against Lichina were being comnded, while the nas of those who had fallen would be engraved on the great monunt in Lumina’s morial grounds.

Ariana excitedly adjusted the emblem on her chest.

Just then, the surrounding noise suddenly quieted sowhat.

Ariana could not help feeling that sothing was off, until the clear sound of footsteps cut through the crowd and stopped precisely behind her.

She turned her head instinctively, and sure enough, she saw Nana standing there.

After the previous battle, Nana had been severely injured and had remained in recovery until today, when she finally returned. Her hair was tied up in a high ponytail, revealing sharp yet beautiful features. Her amber eyes were like those of a cold-blooded beast, staring icily at Ariana, so much so that Ariana felt as if Nana might pounce at any mont and tear out her throat.

She instinctively stepped back a little and glanced around. The mont she sensed Nana locking onto her, the others also retreated by instinct, even those who usually joked and laughed with her.

She pressed her lips tightly together, about to say sothing, when Nana spoke first. "You have five seconds to get the hell out of here."

Almost the instant Nana finished speaking, the others exchanged looks and hurriedly left. Ariana was no exception. But at that very mont, a flash of light suddenly exploded beneath her feet. The heat pierced through her clothes, nearly making Ariana think she had been burned.

She scread sharply and stared at Nana in disbelief. "What are you doing?! Magic is forbidden in the Academy!"

"Why did you testify against Silvanus like that that day?" Nana suddenly asked, making Ariana freeze.

She burst into laughter, her eyes bloodshot. "Like that? What way is that supposed to be? I was only telling the truth. Silvanus’s blood can indeed the barrier!"

Nana said coldly, "Without Silvanus, you would forever be nothing but the despised illegitimate daughter of the Samson family. You would never have beco a student of Lumina."

Nana’s words struck straight at Ariana’s sore spot. She scread, "So what?! Silvanus should have protected ! He was the one who brought here. He should have paid attention to instead of letting —"

"Slap!"

Before Ariana could finish, Nana’s slap sent her face snapping to the side. Her head rang violently. Fresh blood seeped from the corner of her mouth, and a clear handprint appeared on her pale face.

"Ungrateful." Nana said slowly. "I really wish he could see this disgusting side of you. But that’s fine. Maybe he’s already started regretting ever eting you."

Silvanus would regret it... regret eting ?

Ariana clenched her fists in silence. As if she had lost her mind, she lunged at Nana, clearly intent on risking everything.

Nana kicked her away without hesitation. Ariana lay on the ground clutching her stomach, her voice filled with hatred. "Just you wait, Nana. I won’t let you off. The Samson family won’t let you off either..."

Nana curled her lips, lifted her foot, and ground it down on Ariana’s face with contempt, the heel leaving behind a dirty scuff mark.

"Do whatever you can, you bastard."

She had plenty of ti to crush them, to make these people understand what it ant to live worse than death.
