The day passed swiftly as Alex went on a killing spree outside of Balon City, killing magic beasts and storing their corpses. After reaching the Saint rank, the space inside his space pocket had beco so enormous that it couldn’t even be called a pocket anymore.

When evening ca, Alex returned to the City and went straight to the Union building to sell off the beast corpses. This ti, he had brought over ten thousand corpses with lots of mutated and transford rank magic beasts among them.

The number of beast corpses that Mr Chen had brought this ti had startled William and Clint, grateful. For the first ti, the large room that would shrink whatever was brought in so they could fit was almost filled to the brim and there was barely enough space to move freely.

It took quite so ti for the two of them to finish sorting out the corpses and mana cores, they even called for so staff to co and help with the sorting.

After two long hours, they finished sorting out the corpses and mana cores. Alex received 860 million Zen after Clint finished calculating everything, and the money was added to his Union card.

Alex now had over a billion Zen to his na, but he wasn’t too excited because he knew that all of his wealth could be spent on just a few magic items; he was still far from becoming one of those wealthy second-generation young masters.

Alex returned ho after he finished with his business at the Union building. The outskirts were peaceful and quiet as Union officers in uniforms and magic weapons in their hands patrolled. A few roughly dressed people still road the dark alleys of the outskirts, but they didn’t dare to cause trouble with the Union officers around.

Alex got ho around 21:00 that evening. His father was reading a book in the living room while his sister and mother were busy in the kitchen.

Alex’s mother poked her head through the kitchen door at the sound of Alex entering the house. She inford him that they were about reheating dinner, and he should go wash up and co down quickly.

Alex nodded and went to his room. He ca down so ti later, and everyone sat together to have dinner.

While they ate, Emily brought up the topic of the all-academy star tournant that was starting the next day. Her eyes flashed with anticipation; she couldn’t wait to watch her brother’s performance and cheer for him.

She still rembered the first ti she saw her brother use magic, he was so cool and dashing!

She wanted to be just as cool as her brother when she awakened.

Their parents jumped on topic as well and gave Alex so words of encouragent, telling him to do his best and not to push himself too hard. His mother’s priority was still his safety as she repeatedly emphasised that he should surrender if the opponent was too strong so that he didn’t get hurt.

Alex chuckled at those words but didn’t say anything. An opponent too strong for him in an academy tournant? How laughable, his joining the tournant alone was already unfair for the other students.

But did he really care if it was unfair or not? He had his own plans, and joining the tournant was one of the steps to his plans; no other side’s thoughts mattered.

As for his father, Zoran, the man told Alex to do his best and that he had faith in him. After all, Alex had joined an explorer group and was an explorer; he had gotten experience with fighting magic beasts, which the majority of students who were still in a magic academy didn’t have. He was sure that Alex would perform well during the tournant.

Alex smiled in response and thanked his father for his trust. The man’s judgnt was accurate; many students of the magic academy didn’t have much experience when it ca to real combat.

The family continued to chat through dinner. After they finished eating and Alex helped with the dishes, they all went to their respective rooms.

Alex opened his phone after getting into bed. He saw that he had been tagged several tis by the mbers of the Rising Wave group in the group chat.

Alex opened the group chat and saw that there were ssages wishing him good luck on the tournant. The mbers of the group all had confidence in him to perform very well, and they also promised to co watch and cheer for him.

That was to be expected since the tournant was a big event for Balon City, literally more than half of the city’s population would be attending the venue while the rest would watch through the broadcast; after all, the venue for the tournant couldn’t possibly fit in all of the people in Balon City much less visitors who had co from other cities.

But that wasn’t all, Joan had also tagged Alex in a ssage, telling him what had happened after the auction.

The mbers of the group had been teasing Aunt Mia since that night, but the skin of the woman’s face was thicker than brick; she didn’t even get red whenever the matter was ntioned or when she was called Mr Chen’s little girlfriend.

That was the new nickna that the mbers of the Rising Wave group had given to their leader, the esteed water witch.

Alex "..."

Mr Chen’s little girlfriend? Where the hell did that co from? Who created such a na?!

Upon asking, Alex found out that the culprit was Selena. This stunned him, the poker-faced woman who always looked like she was about to black out could actually make such a joke?

As for Mia’s response, she had only said that she would kill anyone who would be responsible for the nickna going out. So to put it shortly, she was fine with it as long as it stayed within the mbers of the group.

Alex "..."

He decided not to make any comnts on this matter, it wasn’t in his place to speak.

Alex spent so ti on his phone before going to sleep. he didn’t necessarily need to sleep, but still chose to.

Morning ca quickly and Alex set off for the academy in his uniform after having breakfast with his family. He didn’t go with Emily today as all other schools and learning institutions were closed during the tournant period.

Alex reached the academy after minutes of walking and found many students had arrived earlier than usual. Although there won’t be classes during the period of the tournant, the students had been unable to hold back their excitent and had all co early to the academy.

All of the students who saw Alex had idolising looks in their eyes and excited expressions when they looked at him. So tried to speak to him, but Alex ignored all of them and headed for his classroom.

He t a few teachers along the way, and they all had expectant looks when they saw Alex and even gave him so words of encouragent. But Alex gave a poker face in response, and his eyes were void of any emotions.

This made the teachers smile awkwardly, they couldn’t deny that they were ignorant of why Alex was behaving like that. After all, they weren’t strangers and had known each other for over four years.

Alex also ran into teacher Arnold on his way to class. As usual, the man shot him a distasteful glare, clearly pissed by the sight of Alex, before storming off.

Alex grinned, he was happy that this particular teacher hadn’t changed even after he stopped being trash. He was only dissatisfied that he didn’t get to defeat teacher Arnold’s precious student in front of him during the competition.

Reaching his classroom, Alex found many of his classmates there already. This included Glen who was now replacing Laura.

After so ti, teacher Christi ca into the classroom and called Alex and Glen out.

The two of them got up and followed their teacher out of the classroom while the other students followed behind.

They went to the field where a few people were already waiting in the ring; they were Alia, the two other fourth-year students who would be joining the tournant, Ryan and Jason.

Standing in front of the three were the vice dean of the academy and so of the teachers, teacher Arnold was also present and didn’t fail to throw a disdainful look at Alex.

Teacher Christi walked over with Alex and Glen behind her. The two boys stopped when they reached the three students, while teacher Christi went to stand with her co-teachers behind the vice dean.

The vice dean started her briefing imdiately they got into position. What she talked about was how the tournant would be taking place.

The rest of the students occupied the seats around the field and watched the group in the ring.

A few minutes later, the vice dean was done with her briefing, and it was ti to head to the tournant venue.

The vice dean glanced at Alex, whose uniform and cloak were obviously very old compared to the rest of the students. She asked if he would want a new one since it was the tournant.

Alex rejected the offer with an expressionless face, he wasn’t impressed.

The uniform of the academy cost a few thousand Zen, which his parents weren’t able to afford since they had other important things to spend money on. He had been using this one, which he had received a long ti ago, and the academy didn’t try to change it for him.

But now that he was going to represent them in the tournant, they suddenly felt the need to change his uniform to a new one.

How thoughtful.
