anwhile, Alex had gone to look for Clint and William after entering the Union building. The two n had sensed Cici’s presence after it brought Alex and the unconscious Ellie. They were about to go take a look when Mr Chen appeared in front of them out of thin air, holding an unconscious woman in his arms.

A glance at the unconscious Ellie and they were able to tell that her condition wasn’t too good, there were shallow wounds and bruises all over her body, her clothes were in a ruined state as well.

Without asking what happened, they imdiately led Alex to the dical room that was inside the building. While they made their way to the place, Clint took out his phone and called soone to et them there.

They arrived a while late, and Alex gently lowered Ellie onto the clean, soft bed, placing her head properly on the pillow.

Clint and William were speechless as they stared at Mr Chen’s careful actions, they wondered who this woman was and how she was related to Mr Chen to make him treat her with so much gentleness.

She looked quite young so could she be his child or grandchild? They couldn’t tell her rank, so they didn’t know what to think; it was either that she was an ordinary human or a mage with a higher rank than them.

They had unknowingly concluded that Mr Chen was an old mage considering his strength.

The two took a closer look at the woman’s face after Mr Chen took a step back, William’s eyes widened the next mont after taking a better look at the unconscious woman that Mr Chen had brought.

He recognised her! But before he could speak, soone charged into the room.

Boom!

The door was knocked flying across the room as the Archmage rushed in with a worried face while calling out Ellie’s na.

"Ellie!"

His eyes swept across the room after entering and quickly landed on the three figures of Clint, William, and the masked Mr Chen, the three n were standing a few steps away from Ellie’s bed.

The Archmage froze for a mont before shifting his gaze to the unconscious Ellie, he took a deep breath to calm himself before walking over.

"I knew I was right, it’s indeed Ellie," William exclaid in a low tone after seeing the Archmage’s reaction.

No one else said anything, Alex was silently observing the Archmage.

So he knew Ellie? He wanted to know how.

After so seconds, the Archmage moved his gaze away from Ellie and turned to face Alex. He cleared his throat before speaking respectfully.

"It’s an honour to et you, Mr Chen. I believe this is officially our first ti eting since the auction night. I sincerely want to apologise once again for my behaviour that night." The Archmage said with a palm pressed on his chest.

"I already forgot about it," Alex replied, his voice hoarse.

A look of relief flashed across the Archmage’s face before proceeding to speak.

"I’ve wanted to et you since then for an important matter but didn’t have the chance, who would have thought I would et you like this. I don’t know what happened but on behalf of the magic university, I sincerely want to thank you for saving Ellie." The Archmage bowed his head slightly. He could tell from the state of Ellie that she had been in a fight.

Considering her strength, it must have been a very dangerous situation since she ended up in such a state; it was a miracle that Mr Chen happened to be there and had saved her.

Alex felt that it was odd that the Archmage was thanking him so much for saving Ellie. He already knew that Ellie was the daughter of a Magic university’s Dean.

’Don’t tell this man is her father.’ Alex thought to himself.

"How do you know her?" Alex couldn’t help but ask.

The Archmage gave a small smile before explaining. His na was Julius, and he was an instructor at the Magic University located in the capital. Ellie was an instructor as well, so they knew each other. In addition to that, she was the daughter of the Dean.

But that was all, the Dean had asked him to bring Ellie along with him to scout for new students. Ellie had gone elsewhere on their way here because she got information that there was an egg of a rare magic beast close by, she was supposed to et up with them in Balon City by the ti the third round of the tournant started.

He didn’t know that she would get into trouble, the Dean would have skinned him if anything had happened to Ellie. So Julius was extrely grateful to Mr Chen for saving her.

"I see," Alex mumbled after listening to the man, he had now gotten enough information on Ellie and could find her in the future after she left Balon City. He shouldn’t appear desperate!

"Sorry to ask this, but what happened to her?" Julius asked while still staring at Alex’s mask.

Alex explained that Ellie had fought against people from the Dark Union because of an egg and was captured because she was outnumbered, she had ordered Cici to escape with the egg. He had then found Cici while he was roaming and had decided to check why a magic beast was so close to a small town, Cici had then led him to where Ellie was being held captive.

After listening to Mr Chen’s story, Julius, William, and Clint were shocked to hear that Ellie had been captured by mbers of the Dark Union. They felt that she was extrely lucky that Mr Chen had found her contracted beast, thus coming to save her.

William and Clint also realised that Ellie’s case was very similar to the one that so explorers had reported earlier. After asking so questions, they were surprised that it was actually the sa case, Cici was the dog beast that the explorers of the Rising Wave group had reported in previously.

"Good thing that they co back to report instead of following the dog to go save her, how could the few of them hope to survive what even an Archmage couldn’t escape?" Clint expressed with a sigh.

At this mont, the person whom Clint had called earlier finally arrived. It was a middle-aged woman in a long coat. She had a shocked look on her face as she entered the room through the shattered door.

"Branch leader, what happened here?" She asked in a whisper after reaching Clint’s position.

"Oh, don’t worry about that." Clint waved his hand and said, before asking her to co cast a healing spell on Ellie.

Turned out that she was an Expert mage with the plant elent, the Core rank spell of the plant elent was a healing spell.

The woman imdiately summoned green stars and ford two star patterns that let out green light above Ellie’s body, she began healing Ellie.

Although it was a healing spell, the healing power was weak because it was only at the Core rank so the woman had to cast the spell a few tis before the bruises and wounds on Ellie’s body vanished completely.

"She’s fine now and will wake up after a few hours of rest, she should be awake at dawn." The woman said before excusing herself.

Now that Ellie was safe and healed, it was also ti for Alex to return ho. He still needed to participate in the tournant later today.

"Mr Chen, please wait!" Julius called out when he saw Alex leaving.

Alex stopped walking and turned to look at him. Julius quickly walked over and said that he wanted to discuss sothing with him.

Alex didn’t feel like discussing anything with this man but since he was related to Ellie, he decided to hear him out.

"Mr Chen, I would like to invite you to be an instructor at our magic university," Julius said with all seriousness.

Alex "..."

He, an instructor? What a wild joke, he didn’t even have enough knowledge as a new student, what was he supposed to teach others?

On the other hand, if he agreed to be an instructor, he would be able to see Ellie more often.

But seeing Ellie wasn’t a problem since he had already decided to enter the magic university as a student, the issue was how their status was going to be. If he accepted to be an instructor, they would be colleagues.

While in the other case, he would be a student and she would be one of his instructors.

Alex felt that he had to think about this first. So he didn’t turn down Julius’s offer and said he would think about it.

Julius was glad that Mr Chen didn’t outright turn him down. Since it wasn’t a rejection, there was hope!

He then told Alex that he was totally fine with Alex thinking about it first before deciding.

"You can always co look for before the end of the tournant," Julius added.

Alex nodded, he was about to leave when he rembered sothing.

His father’s licence!
