Ellie called attendance before the exam started, and a bunch of papers appeared in front of her which she sent to the students by controlling them with her mana.
She warned against any one trying to cheat before telling them to begin.
Alex’s eyes landed on the paper as he read through the questions, a space for his answers were provided under each question.
After reading the entire question first, a small smile ford on Alex’s face.
’This is going to be easy.’ he thought to himself as his pen appeared between his fingers and he started to write down the answers to the question.
So minutes later, Alex was done writing down his answers. He did a recheck to make sure that he didn’t miss anything before nodding in satisfaction, he felt that the exam was too easy.
Alex then stood up, ready to go hand in his sheet. Just then, he heard soone standing up behind him, Alex turned to look and saw that it was Eric.
He was surprised, the kid finished so quickly too?
"Hehe, I didn’t want to be the first to hand in my paper." Eric said with a sheepish smile on his face.
Alex "..."
It couldn’t be that this kid finished before him, right? Not that it bothered him though, he just thought that he was the fastest considering how well he rembered the answers to the questions.
"Why are you two standing during the exam?" Ellie’s voice sounded from the front of the class, prompting the two to imdiately turn to face her.
"I’m done,"
"I’ve finished answering the questions,"
Alex and Eric said at the sa ti, causing the rest of the class to glance at them.
Ellie was slightly surprised to hear them.
"It has barely been five minutes, you still have over an hour to check your work; are you sure you want to hand in your papers now?" She questioned.
"Mm, I’m sure." Eric nodded and said while Alex simply nodded.
"All right then, hand them over and you can leave." Ellie said. She couldn’t force them to stay if they were confident that they were through.
The two boys walked to the front of the class and handed their sheets to the instructors, Alex silently wondered why Ellie didn’t use her mana to collect them.
They proceeded to leave after handing in their papers. Ellie glanced at the two papers after Eric and Alex left, a satisfied smile ford on the side of her lips after reading the contents.
anwhile, after they reached outside the lecture hall. Eric imdiately started to fire questions at Alex while they walked.
"I thought I was fast, who would have thought you would answer so quickly too. As expected of my role model." Eric said with his head raised high and his nose pointing forward.
Alex glanced at the boy and couldn’t help but chuckle silently. Neither of them attended the basic crafting knowledge class so they didn’t have any more exams for the day and could do whatever they wanted.
Eric asked Alex if he wanted to co train with him but Alex declined and said that he needed to go study for the next exam, he said that he wanted to do his best and get into the ranking.
Eric would have usually refused to listen and bothered him until he agreed but thinking of the ranking and the rewards, Eric decided to let Alex be and go to the training area by himself.
Alex returned to his dorm, locked the door, and activated Void Walk.
What study? He was going to farm exp!
He didn’t need to study as he could literally rember everything when they were discussed during class, that was how good the mory of a Saint rank mage was.
He had learned that this was an effect of mana in one of Ellie’s classes. As one grew stronger, mana would affect the brain and they would begin to rember things more clearly.
It wasn’t surprising that so mage could recall events from years back as if it had happened just so monts ago.
Alex arrived outside Brandvel City in a few seconds, already in his robe and mask.
Stars appeared around him and ford constellations.
"Blink,"
Alex vanished again.
After almost an hour of using Blink and Void Walk, Alex stopped in the middle of a dense rainforest, he could sense the presence of magic beasts around him.
The auras ranged from the common beast rank to the Divine beast rank.
Alex called on his system interface with his thoughts and his profile appeared in front of him.

Alex stared at the amount of exp he had managed to farm during the past months. Although he wasn’t able to spend more ti farming exp like when he was in Balon City, he was able to gain more because the population of magic beasts here were more that that of Balon City.
"A bit more and I’ll be able to craft another Saint rank spell, let’s begin!" Alex said to himself as his eyes blazed with black lightning.

Ti flew by quickly and it was soon midnight, Alex had stayed longer than planned.
While storing away the corpse of the last magic beast that he just killed, he summoned his system profile.

"Not bad," Alex mumbled, he had gotten more than he usually got in a single day during class period, he should be able to get enough for another spell after a two or three more days of farming.

Alex disappeared, heading back to the capital.
Arriving at the capital, Alex went straight to the Union Core Center and went to look for Maria.
"Mr Chen, here to sell beast corpses as usual?" Maria had a delighted expression upon seeing Alex. She had already gotten used to Mr Chen’s character after three months and no longer asked what Mr Chen wanted whenever the latter ca to look for her.
He would probably say it if he needed sothing else.
The beast corpses were quickly sorted out and paynt procedures were settled swiftly, Alex was handed another Union card with over ten billion Zen in it.
He was about to leave when Maria asked him to wait.
"Mr Chen, could I bother you with sothing?" She asked.
"What is it?" Alex asked, turning around to face her.
He had a favourable impression of Maria, she was just like Clint and Owen back at Balon City. If she needed his help, he would try to help as long as it wouldn’t affect his normal routine.
"A joint operation between the seven continents is being held to attack the nest of a calamity rank magic beast, it’s a three eyed spider lord and it has a large number of spider soldiers in its horde. mbers of the Union from the seven continents will be heading this operation.
I was wondering if Mr Chen could join us and represent our Union HQ. Of course, you don’t need to join the Union, just be a mber of our party." Maria explained.
’A calamity rank magic beast,’ Alex thought to himself, feeling a bit excited.
He was aware of that rank but had never seen a magic beast of such rank before, plus, this would be a chance for him to see a bigger side of his world.
"When is this operation?" Alex asked, he wanted to know if it was sothing he could attend. It would be troubleso if he needed to be at the university at that ti.
"It’s two months from now, and don’t worry that you’ll be helping for free. I’ll make sure that you’re well compensated even if you don’t do anything." Maria stated.
Two months from now, then he could use his one week leave as an excuse to go with Maria!
"Fine, let know when it’s ti." Alex said.
Maria’s eyes lit up upon hearing Mr Chen’s response, she almost jumped like an excited little girl.
"All right, Mr Chen. I’ll remind you when it’s ti." She said.
Alex nodded before using Void Walk to disappear from the office.
Maria just stood there, staring at the spot where Alex was standing a few monts ago.
"No matter how many tis I see it, I can’t tell if it’s a magic item or a spell; Mr Chen is just too impressive."
anwhile, Alex arrived at the university ground so ti later and headed for his room in the dorm section.
Upon arriving in his room, Alex was shocked and didn’t imdiately co out of the White space as he stared at his room through the Void gate.
