Alex and old man Harold arrived outside Brandvel City after so ti.

Right outside the city’s borders, a group of people were already waiting for them beside so armoured vehicles.

Seeing old man Harold arrive, the group imdiately approached him.

"I see that everyone has arrived, good, we can get going now." Old man Harold voiced out.

"Oh, before I forget. Allow to introduce. This is Alex, a young explorer; he’ll be coming with us today to gain so experience." Harold explained and patted Alex’s shoulder, who was beside him.

The gazes of everyone present imdiately landed on Alex as they observed him. Similarly, Alex was also observing them.

He noticed that there were over ten adult explorers present, as well as five younger-looking individuals. The adults were all at the Master mage rank while the five teenagers were either at the Expert mage rank or Core mage rank.

"Hello," Alex said to them in a polite tone.

The older explorers nodded at him, not too bothered about his joining them. After all, old man Harold was the one who brought him so they couldn’t complain.

However, the five teenagers didn’t seem to think the sa way.

"Sir Harold, you can’t do this! Our families paid you to organise this special training for us, how can you just bring a naless weakling along?" A young girl who looked to be around 18 years old with long brown hair voiced out, she stared at Alex with intense arrogance in her eyes.

"Yes, send him away or we’ll report this to our families!" Another young boy with short hair that covered a part of his face added while staring at Alex disdainfully.

The other three also voiced their opinions on the matter. They didn’t think Alex should be allowed to co along since their families had paid to have this training with Sir Harold arranged.

And since they didn’t recognise him, they assud he must be from a small family and would get in their way.

"Brats, this is my group and I decide who cos and who doesn’t. If you don’t feel happy about it, you’re free to return ho and cry to your parents." Harold said while glaring at the five teenagers, he honestly felt tired of their nonsense.

The five teenagers were stunned to hear Sir Harold’s words, so

Gritted their teeth and didn’t say anything else. However, a boy with long black hair that reached his back wasn’t having it.

"I’m from the Osworth family, do you really want to report this to my family?" The boy said with a stubborn expression.

Alex was surprised to hear that na, which was Eric’s family na too. Did that an that Eric and this arrogant kid were siblings? But Eric never ntioned anything about having a brother.

’Might be the sa issue with his sister, he just didn’t ntion him because it wasn’t necessary.’ Alex thought to himself and continued to watch.

The mbers of Harold’s group stared at the kid from the Osworth family and then at their leader, old Harold. They all had held back expressions, as if waiting for him to give the orders.

But Harold didn’t say anything, he simply gave the Osworth kid a long look before turning around and walking towards one of the armoured vehicles while calling out to Alex to follow him.

"If you don’t feel like coming along, you are free to return to your families; I won’t force anyone," Harold said without looking back as he entered the armoured vehicle with Alex.

The mbers of his group picked up the hint and made their way to the armoured vehicles as well, leaving the five teenagers to themselves.

The teenagers were stunned by the actions of the mbers of the Blue Cross explorer group and that of Sir Harold, the old mage simply didn’t think much of them or their families.

"Tch, I’ll definitely report this to my father." The kid with the short hair that covered a side of his face said while clicking his tongue but he was already moving toward the armoured vehicles.

The sa thing happened with the other four teenagers. After promising to report to their families, they still went to enter the armoured vehicles.

"Heh, a bunch of arrogant brats. Thought they would leave since they were running their mouths so much, brats like them can’t survive outside the protection of their families, that’s why they have requested to help them get experience." Harold chuckled as he watched the teenagers through the window of the armoured vehicle.

Alex sat beside him and said nothing, none of these bothered him.

After everyone entered the armoured vehicles, the engines roared to life and they hit the road.

Several minutes later. The armoured vehicles arrived at a dried wood plain and stopped, everyone then ca down.

Before them was a wide valley that stretched into the distance and the ground was covered in reddish sand. Massive dried up trees with brown bark scattered scantily all over the place and the wind carried with it an old stench.

After coming down from the armoured vehicles, Alex released his senses and covered the entire dried wood plain. He was instantly able to sense everything that was within this place. To be precise, it was the things living on top of these huge trees.

Alex was able to sense the presence of several bird creatures on top of these trees, as they weren’t weak. The weakest one he could sense was at the mutated beast rank while the rest were at the transford beast rank!

"This is where we’ll be hunting for today," Harold said before turning to the five teenagers who were standing together.

"You five will be in front, my n will provide support if needed." He stated.

The faces of the five teenagers instantly changed after hearing this.

"Why do we have to be in front of such a dangerous place? What about him, didn’t he co to gain experience too?" The girl with long brown hair protests while pointing at Alex.

"Yes, why do we have to be in front while he stays behind?" Another kid voiced out.

"I brought him here, what he does is up to to decide. Besides, I don’t want him getting in your way." Harold said with a cunning smile on his face.

The faces of the five kids turned dark and their words stuck in their throats. Sir Harold was literally using their earlier words against them, this was injustice!

As much as they wanted to protest, they still had so pride.

"Hmph, at least he won’t hold us back." The girl with long brown hair scoffed before stepping forward, and the remaining four followed behind her. The mbers of the Blue Cross group stayed close behind while Alex and old Harold stayed at the very back.

The group started to move like that and headed deeper into the dried wood plain. Barely five minutes after they started walking, the passing wind suddenly adapted a different pressure and started blowing differently; but this change was only felt by Alex and the experienced explorers. The five teenagers in front were completely clueless.

A magic beast was shooting down from the sky!
