Every year, the Magic Academies in Balon City would hold free awakening sessions for children who were up to 16 years of age.

Of course, those below 16 years old were allowed to participate, for example, Alex, who had awakened at 14. But the normal age for awakening was 16.

The Magic Academies would use ordinary awakening stones for the public awakening and this was also a way of scouting for talented students amongst the kids who would co to awaken every year.

Another type of awakening was the private awakening which was perford behind closed doors and was mostly carried out by big families who could afford to purchase an awakening stone for their children.

During Alex’s ti to awaken, he had participated in the Dragonic Magic Academy’s public awakening as his parents were unable to afford an awakening stone to carry out a private awakening for him.

The academy had imdiately offered to admit him as a student at that ti after he awakened the rare space elent, not knowing that his talent wasn’t that great.

Now that it was Emily’s turn to awaken however, things were different.

Not only had their family’s situation changed, and they could now afford an awakening stone for her, but Alex was also filthy rich and could buy an awakening stone with the affinity of any elent that Emily wanted!

Upon returning ho yesterday, Alex had inford his parents that he had bought an awakening stone with the affinity of the space elent for Emily’s awakening just as he had promised her.

His parents recalled him making such a promise and weren’t angry by this; they had bought an awakening stone as well, but could always sell it later.

Emily was extrely excited after finding out that Alex had gotten the special awakening stone for her and promised to awaken the space elent just like him.

Alex only smiled in response; he could already sense the mana within Emily, so he was certain that the awakening would be successful. As for what elent she would awaken, even he, who was a Saint rank mage, couldn’t tell.

Since Alicia and Emily looked to be around the sa age, the Zoran couple had suggested that she should also attempt awakening. They already accepted her as a mber of the family and it would be great if two mages erged from the family at the sa ti.

But Alicia turned down the offer for obvious reasons but lied that she had no intentions of being a mage and wanted to live her life as an ordinary human.

Alex was most satisfied with this response because he couldn’t tell what would happen if a magic beast as powerful as Alicia ca in contact with an awakening stone.

Would there even be any reaction? He didn’t want to find out, at least not in front of his family.

Today that Emily would be awakening. With the addition of Alex, Zoran and Freda had invited a few other people just to supervise the process.

Not that they were underestimating Alex but in their eyes, their boy was still young and inexperienced. Having more people who were older and more experienced to supervise the private awakening would be safer.

For this reason, they had invited Mia and so of the mbers of the Rising Wave group. The principal of Emily’s school had also gotten to know of this as well and had requested to be present.

Zoran and Freda happily agreed, the man was Emily’s principal and also an old mage so his presence would be helpful in case anything happened.

Currently, all of them are gathered in the living room of the family’s mansion.

The awakening stone, which Alex had purchased, was placed on a short pillow that was placed on the table, and Emily stood in front of it. The others stood around her and watched.

"Now child, don’t be scared. Just place your hand on it and close your eyes." Emily’s principal said with a gentle smile, trying to ease the girl’s nervousness.

His main reason for coming here was because Mr Chen had shown interest in this kid so ti ago, even going as far as ordering him to protect her.

He wanted to witness the talent that Mr Chen had seen for himself.

Emily stared at the awakening stone, feeling excited and nervous at the sa ti. She turned to look at her parents, and the couple nodded at her with encouraging expressions.

And when she turned to look at her big brother who was currently standing next to Mia and Simon, Alex gave a big smile that instantly wiped away almost all of her nervousness.

Emily took a small deep breath and stared at the smooth awakening stone again, she raised her right hand and gradually moved it towards it before placing her palm on it.

She instantly felt the coolness of the awakening stone; the coolness imdiately cald her completely, and she closed her eyes as her principal had instructed.

’Good, now we wait and see.’ Alex thought that after seeing this, he was completely relaxed because nothing could go wrong.

Freda and Zoran held each other’s hands, silently watching their daughter go through one of the important monts in her life.

After so ti, the awakening stone started to light up as the mana in the room began to flow in an irregular pattern.

Seconds later, the glow inside the awakening stone intensified and turned into a bright silver white light that illuminated the entire room.

The awakening was a success!

While Emily still had her eyes closed, the faces of everyone present lit up with pleasant surprise.

She had awakened the space elent, just like her elder brother!

"Judging by the brightness of the awakening stone, her affinity with the space elent is very strong, her talent as a mage will be incredible!" Emily’s principal exclaid.

"Indeed, I’ve only seen a handful of people with such a strong affinity upon awakening," Mia comnted with a smile.

Hearing the words of these two made Freda’s and Zoran’s faces light up with happy smiles.

Alex didn’t say anything but agreed with those two; Emily’s talent was several tis stronger than Alex’s before the whole system thing.

"But why isn’t she waking up yet?" A mber of the Rising Wave group asked, drawing everyone’s attention to the fact that Emily still had her hand on the awakening stone with her eyes closed.

"Maybe we should wake her?" Freda asked.

"No, let her be. It simply ans that the awakening isn’t complete yet." Emily’s school principal stated and raised his left hand to stop Freda from approaching Emily.

This piece of news caused everyone’s expression to change, including Alex’s.

He was yet to learn about the whole awakening stuff at the Magic University so what could be remaining?

Their answers ca shortly after though. The silver white light of the space elent gradually withdrew into the awakening stone and a different light burst forth from it.

It was a dark red light that was different from the red of the fire elent and the black of the shadow elent; it looked more like a mixture of both.

"W-what is this?" Emily’s principal stuttered as he stared at the dark red glow around the awakening stone, it was just as bright as the light of the space elent that appeared earlier.

No one responded because no one present had ever witnessed such a thing before.

Using the chance that no one was paying attention to him, Alex summoned the all-knowing mask and used its skill on the dark red light.

...

[Chaos elent, one of the five rare elents that can be awakened.]

’The chaos elent?!’
