The lizard n were reptile-type magic beasts that were able to stand on their two legs like humans and had builds that were similar to humans. Their bodies were covered in greenish scales, and they could survive in areas such as the Golem Valley, where everywhere was covered in rocks.
The greenish scales on the bodies of the lizard n acted as thin body armour for them, shielding them from not just the harsh weather but also resisting attacks. Another characteristic of the lizard n was their three arms; every one of these beasts had two arms poking out from one side of their bodies while a single arm grew from the other side.
The location of the two arms was not fixed and was different for every lizard man; so had their two arms on their left side while others had them on their right side.
As for the stick-like objects in their hands, those were scale spikes produced from the bodies of the lizard n and what they used to attack other creatures. They could create these spikes by shedding potions of their scales, these spikes would then contain mana residue that would explode after making contact with their targets.
As for the certain number of spikes that a lizard man could create, no one knew.
Selena’s eyes narrowed as she stared from where she was standing, she took a glance at her surroundings. They were surrounded on all sides by an army of lizard n, there were probably hundreds of them!
"This is going to be troubleso." She clicked her tongue, a hint of frustration in her voice.
All of these lizard n were at the common beast rank so she naturally wasn’t afraid. What she was worried about was the behaviour of these creatures.
Not only were lizard n known to have high agility amongst magic beasts of the sa rank, but they also had a level of intelligence which made them cunning.
Unlike other beasts, these lizards could think!
"Let’s contact the others; we can’t handle them by ourselves," Simon said to Selena with a matter-of-fact tone as he stared at the army of lizard n with a serious face.
Selena nodded and was about to take out her phone when the sound of cutting wind interrupted her.
She quickly tilted her head to the side and a scale spike flew past her, causing her hair to blow in the air. Selena’s eyes flashed with a sharp glint. She looked at the army of reptiles below, and her eyes landed on a two-ter-tall lizard man who still had one of his hands stretched out in a throwing motion.
Its spoon-shaped head held two large yellow eyes that rolled at Selena.
’This damned lizard!’ Selena cursed in her heart as her eyes blazed with purple light, and arcs of lightning flashed across her face.
Boom!
Her body exploded with mana the next instant as stars appeared around her before forming two purple star patterns.
Seeing this action, the army of lizard n knew that the human was about to attack and imdiately took action, many of them launched their spikes at Selena with insane accuracy.
Tens of greenish spikes seed to align into a single large spike that shot toward Selena on top of the boulder, but how could their throwing speed be faster than Selena’s casting speed?
"Lightning strike!" Selena mumbled coldly while pointing at the lizard n below her, her eyes blazing with purple light and a gust of wind blowing around her.
The next mont, a thin thread of violent purple lightning shot out from the star patterns and zigzagged toward the ground.
The lightning thread first made contact with the nurous spikes, instantly destroying them before continuing down.
Boom!
The lightning struck the lizard man that had thrown the first spike at Selena, instantly obliterating it and causing a small explosion that sent the surrounding lizardn flying.
They crashed into the ground and so of them convulsed violently as the residue of the lightning strike terrorized their bodies.
Seeing this, the remaining lizardn imdiately shifted backwards and created more distance between themselves and the ring of giant boulders that the humans were standing on.
Taking this opportunity, Selena imdiately took out her phone and contacted Mia.
Communication was swiftly connected and Selena quickly inford Mia of their situation.
They were surrounded by a large number of lizard n.
"Release a signal, we’ll co to you as soon as possible." Mia’s voice sounded from the other side before the phone was disconnected.
Selena kept her phone before informing the others that she had contacted Mia; the others let out a sigh of relief after hearing this.
As long as the leader ca, then the situation would easily be resolved.
After all, the leader was an Expert rank mage. A single spell from her would be able to wipe out tens of common rank magic beasts, she would only need a few spells to greatly reduce the numbers of these lizard n; they would be able to take care of the rest after that.
"Although lizard n are difficult to deal with, we’re lucky we aren’t being surrounded by earth golems." soone chuckled as he nervously observed the lizardn that had retreated after Selena killed one of them and injured a few.
Everyone silently agreed with him. While lizard n had high agility and thinking abilities, their thinking ability was what was saving them right now.
Maybe it was due to fear or because they were thinking of a strategy, but the lizardn didn’t imdiately rush toward them and were instead just watching from afar.
Had it been earth golems, the group would currently be fighting a battle for their lives. They didn’t dare to imagine what would happen if hundreds of common rank beasts charged at them at once.
Escaping would be their only option but even that would be difficult for people who didn’t possess movent spells.
Soone like Selena could actually escape if she used lightning charge to increase her speed, but Simon would have to rely on his speed as a Core mage, which would not be enough to escape these lizard n who possessed incredible accuracy.
"I’m going to release a signal so that the leader and the others will know our location," Selena said to Simon.
"Ok, we’ll keep watch," Simon replied.
Next, Selena jumped down from the boulder and landed on the edge of the pit.
The signal that they were talking about was her releasing a large amount of lightning energy, as long as it was strong enough, Mia would definitely be able to sense it from anywhere in the Golem valley.
Not just Mia, anyone above the Core mage rank would be able to sense it. This also applied to magic beasts that were stronger than Core mages.
It was a risky move, but it was their only option at this point.
As for how she was going to do that, it was simple.
She just needed to gather the energy of the lightning elent for a long ti without casting any spell!
With this thought in mind, ten purple stars appeared around Selena before forming into two-star patterns as the oppressive energy of the lightning elent began to gather.
anwhile, the situation outside had taken a turn after Selena left her position.
The lizardn started to move!
