Watching as Azure’s figure disappeared at the entrance of the Forbidden Land, the Great Elder slowly approached the two imprisoned sisters.

However—

When he truly got close, those blue eyes, exactly like Azure’s, shockingly flashed with a terrifying fierceness.

That gaze, like a wounded young wolf, stared fixedly at the hunter’s throat.

Kael’s pupils contracted slightly.

So young, yet already possessing such a strong will for revenge... If this girl grows up...

He discreetly scanned the surroundings, his gaze pausing briefly on the crowd.

A figure from the Ghost Race imdiately understood and quietly vanished into the rain.

At this mont, the Great Elder’s face broke into what seed like a kindly smile.

"Your father has already taken on all the guilt. From this mont, you are free."

"However... you must leave the Ghost Race imdiately and never return!"

Scarlett lifted her head from Veridia’s embrace, a hint of distraction flashing in her eyes.

They didn’t have to die?

The relief of surviving the catastrophe surged in her heart, only to be harshly pressed down by the reality of their father being eternally imprisoned.

Only Veridia noticed the fleeting coldness beneath the Great Elder’s smiling facade.

She tensed up, holding her sister even tighter.

Then, the Great Elder released the barrier that had confined the two of them.

The mont the barrier was lifted, the onlookers begrudgingly made a narrow passage, but the curses lingered:

"Letting these two Harbingers of Doom live, they’ve gotten off too easily!"

"They caused Luna’s death; they should have gone down with her!"

"Yes, an On is an On! But with them never returning to the Ghost Race... we can finally be at peace!"

Amidst the Ghost Race’s curses, Veridia and Scarlett supported each other as they left the Ghost Race.

But at this mont, Veridia silently vowed in her heart.

One day, she would bring her sister and fight back into the Ghost Race!

To show these people whether they really were an On!

Soon, the two sisters were getting farther and farther from the Ghost Race, gradually leaving its stronghold behind.

Scarlett raised her head, her eyes filled with confusion about the future:

"Sister, we’ve left the Ghost Race, where... where should we go?"

Veridia wiped the rain from her sister’s face, "Anywhere is fine!"

"As long as we’re together, anywhere is fine!"

Veridia comforted Scarlett.

As the elder sister, she had to shoulder more!

However, just as the two sisters were about to leave.

The space suddenly twisted, and a figure appeared out of nowhere.

It was the Ghost Race strongman who had vanished from the crowd earlier!

"Why worry about where to go?" he sneered coldly, "Your journey ends here."

Veridia’s pupils shrank suddenly as she instinctively shielded Scarlett:

"Scarlett! Run! Don’t look back!"

Hearing her sister’s command, Scarlett didn’t hesitate and turned to flee.

Yet this scene amused the Transcendent Ghost Race blocking their path.

"Run? Competing in speed with Void Talent on just two legs?"

He shook his head contemptuously:

"Indeed, worthless, not even having awakened the most basic Power Talent and Void Talent... No wonder you caused your mother’s death."

"But, all of this should end now."

In the next mont, the Transcendent Ghost Race attacked Veridia fiercely.

But Veridia, almost by instinct, rolled backward at that critical mont.

She narrowly avoided the lethal strike.

This turn of events startled the Transcendent Ghost Race, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.

"Interesting!"

"For soone at Awakened Tier One to actually dodge my attack..."

"Your combat intuition is really strong! Comparable to your father even!"

"If we were of the sa level, I might really have trouble dealing with you!"

"But that’s the extent of it!"

Before he finished speaking, Ghost Qi surged around the Transcendent Ghost Race, his fingers like hooks aiming straight for Veridia’s heart!

Veridia’s body was paralyzed—

The opponent had employed Void Power, completely sealing off the space around her!

In the instant death lood, she instinctively turned her head...

To look at her sister one last ti.

Yet, this glance made her feel like she had fallen into an icy abyss—

Why was Scarlett still here?!

Was she stupid?!

"Run, you idiot!" she scread ntally.

At this mont, Scarlett was trembling all over.

She did take two steps...

Yet she forcibly stopped her steps.

With her sister still there, how could she leave alone?!

Every ti, it was her sister shielding her!

No matter how many tis, in tis of danger, her sister was always shielding her!

She had always been protected by her sister!

Seeing her sister struggle in vain under the Transcendent Ghost Race’s hand, unprecedented pain surged through her entire body.

Why? Why? Why?

Must she always be protected by her sister!

No...

It can’t be this way!

She had to protect her sister, even just once!

Her immature hands clenched white, the unwillingness in her chest almost tearing her apart!

"Sister——!"

Scarlett’s cry seed to tear through ti and space.

In an instant, the world in her eyes beca incomparably slow.

The Void shed its disguise like a thin veil, revealing its most essential threads.

She had awakened!

One of the Ghost Race’s talents:

Void!

The Ghost Claw that was about to pierce her sister’s chest moved as slowly as a snail in her eyes, yet she was powerless to stop it!

But...

Without a mont’s hesitation, Scarlett’s figure instantly dissolved into the Void.

"Thud!"

The Transcendent Ghost Race’s hand pierced through her abdon.

At that instant, with Awakened Tier One power, she instantly crossed the distance and stood in front of Veridia.

"Drip!"

"Drip!"

The sound of fresh blood splattering on the ground exploded in Veridia’s ears like thunder.

Her blue pupils contracted violently, the entire world seemingly frozen in that mont.

How could this be?!

"Scar... Scarlett?"

Her voice trembled uncontrollably, the scene before her like a sharp blade, stabbing hard into her heart.

The sister she had always shielded was now using her frail body to block a fatal blow for her!

"Sis... Sister..." Scarlett’s blood-stained lips struggled to curve into a smile, "Scarlett... can protect you too now..."

"Pff—"

Another mouthful of blood spewed forth, splattering onto Veridia’s pale face.

Her sister would die!

Her sister would die!

This thought gnawed at Veridia’s sanity like a venomous snake.

The sister she had protected countless tis was about to die in front of her?

This kind of thing...

This kind of thing... how could it be allowed?!

Blood threads crazily spread in her vision.

Her hands unconsciously tightened, nails piercing into her palms, blood dripping on the ground.

"Tsk, awakened talent on the brink of death."

The Transcendent Ghost Race drew back his arm indifferently, tossing Scarlett toward Veridia like discarding a rag:

"Consider yourself lucky, this little girl took one hit for you!"

He casually wiped the blood from his hand.

Having to make another move, what a hassle!

However, he entirely failed to notice...

The mont Veridia caught Scarlett, eerie black Qi began to seep from her entire body.

Her eyes gradually turned blood red!
