Now reading: Chapter 1 1 The Three-Eye Tribe and the Slaves from Between Two Worlds: Nen and Haki, a Action novel by RoyalInk.

When Zane slowly opened his eyes from the cold floor, a dim cabin and the cage imprisoning him ca into view.

'It looks like I survived...'

After a brief mont of confusion, Zane's eyes regained their focus.

Wrapped in bandages, he struggled to sit up with so difficulty.

Glancing down at the shackles on his wrists, Zane felt no concern for his current predicant. Instead, he covered his face with his right hand, lowered his head slightly, and let a happy smile spread across his lips.

Only those who have brushed against death truly understand the beauty of life.

At this mont, Zane's joy stemd not only from surviving the shipwreck but also from the realization of having lived two lives.

That's right.

Zane was a transmigrator.

He had actually only just beco aware of this fact.

Like many who yearned for the sea, Zane had chosen to set sail at the age of seventeen.

His luck was simply rotten. Not long after setting out, he encountered a massive storm.

His small boat stood no chance and was quickly destroyed. In the end, he had to rely on the body he had trained for years, clinging desperately to a broken mast.

He didn't know how long he had held on before eventually slipping into unconsciousness.

Until now.

Perhaps it was the brush with death that triggered it, but before waking, Zane had awakened his mories. This not only revealed his status as a transmigrator but also made him realize he had crossed over into the world of One Piece.

Kerosene lamps hung at intervals along the wooden walls of the dim cabin, providing just enough light to see his surroundings.

Once he cald his racing heart, Zane began to carefully observe his environnt.

The dim hold didn't contain just his cage; there were over a dozen others.

Inside these cages were n and won in various states of disarray, so packed together while others were alone.

"Hm?!"

Suddenly, Zane noticed sothing strange about his vision.

He instinctively reached up to touch his forehead.

His brow furrowed.

Sure enough, his hand didn't find a familiar headband but rather the third eye positioned right in the center of his forehead—the eye he had always kept hidden.

'Out of the frying pan and into the fire, I guess.'

Zane exhaled slowly, feeling quite helpless.

Humans weren't the only race in this world; there were many different non-human tribes.

Such as Fish-n, the Long-arm Tribe, Giants, and more.

As a transmigrator, he wasn't guaranteed to be reborn as a human.

Zane had been born into a non-human race known as the Three-Eye Tribe.

The Three-Eye Tribe was an extrely rare race, with a rarity comparable to the legendary Lunarians.

Through his ssy black bangs, an eye was clearly visible in the center of Zane's forehead.

Zane didn't know whether to consider himself lucky or unlucky.

Surviving a shipwreck was certainly lucky.

But based on his current surroundings, he imdiately deduced that the people who saved him were likely slave traders.

'Well... at least I'm alive.'

Zane comforted himself.

Had he not been rescued, even if he survived the storm by clinging to the mast, his weakened state would have eventually turned him into just another corpse floating at sea.

Not to ntion that he had unexpectedly awakened the mories of his past life during this life-and-death crisis.

Zane looked down at the bandages on his body and then instinctively touched the third eye on his forehead.

He had to admit, the allure of the Three-Eye Tribe was quite strong.

The slave traders who rescued him clearly knew their business.

After discovering his identity as a Three-Eye, they had provided him with decent dical treatnt despite locking him up.

After all, a dead Three-Eye was worth far less than a living one.

The price for a Three-Eye in the slave market was... well, according to the old man, even a beautiful rmaid would have to step aside.

Only a Lunarian could compete in value.

After assessing his physical condition, Zane turned his gaze toward the exit of the cabin.

"I'm not bragging, but during that ss in town last ti, I cut down five of those guys all by myself!"

"Hahahaha! You think I wasn't there? You were so scared you fell flat on your back. I heard you even wet your pants."

"Bullshit! I didn't fall, and that was the enemy's blood on my pants."

"Sure, keep telling yourself that. For all we know, you pissed yourself and then wiped so blood over it to hide it."

"You bastard! First Mate, I'm requesting a duel with this guy!"

"A duel it is, then! You think I'm afraid? First Mate, you can be the referee!"

"....."

Naturally, a hold full of slaves couldn't be left unguarded.

At the entrance of the cabin, three n were eating at and drinking, chatting and boasting loudly.

The two with the loudest voices looked fierce and had rifles resting beside them.

The third man had his chest bare, wearing a white plush coat, with a kukri knife hanging at his lower back.

He looked like he was just enjoying the show. The other two addressed him as the First Mate.

"Fine... Hm?"

Seeing his subordinates propose a duel, the man in the plush coat, who was already bored, was about to agree when he suddenly sensed sothing. He whipped his head around to see Zane watching him.

"Yo, look who's awake—our precious Three-Eye friend! Hahahaha... It's good that you're up. Otherwise, it would've been a real pain to explain things to that gentleman once we reached the Sabaody Archipelago!"

Seeing Zane sitting awake in the cage, the man in the plush coat laughed heartily.

Zane stared at him through the bars and suddenly asked, "Are you the Bellamy Pirates?"

The man's eyebrows shot up, and his laughter beca even more boisterous. "I didn't expect a Three-Eye freak like you to be so well-inford. That's right, we are the Bellamy Pirates."

The two fierce n stopped their bickering and put on smug expressions.

"Our crew is getting more famous by the day. Even a Three-Eyed monster like this has heard of us."

"Of course! Captain Bellamy is a big-shot pirate with a 55 million Berries bounty!"

Ignoring their boasting, Zane beca lost in thought once his suspicion was confird.

He had only asked because he recognized the man in the plush coat.

After awakening his past mories, his recall had beco exceptionally vivid, perhaps as a secondary benefit.

Seeing the man in the plush coat, mories of his past life surfaced imdiately, allowing him to recognize the character who had appeared in Mock Town in the original story.

Specifically, the First Mate of the Bellamy Pirates, Sarkies.

Upon hearing them ntion that their destination was the Sabaody Archipelago...

...Zane was able to deduce the general situation.

Bellamy was a follower of Doflamingo.

Since the Human Auction House on the Sabaody Archipelago was Doflamingo's business...

...it wasn't surprising at all that they were moonlighting as slave traders.
