After researching the fusion for a while, Zane moved on to study other things.
For instance, utilizing the easily controlled nature of Nen aura to guide his Armant Haki.
Not bad.
This idea was an inspiration that ca to him when he discovered that Nen aura was much easier to control than Armant Haki.
If Nen aura was like a pool of water that could be changed into various shapes with a simple poke, then Armant Haki was like a block of steel—stubborn as could be.
Zane's current level of Armant Haki mastery was still at the first stage: 'Hardening.'
As for the subsequent 'Flow' and 'Internal Destruction,' he couldn't say he had no clue at all, but he was certainly at a loss for how to achieve them.
After experiencing the internal destruction effect of Nen aura, Zane was undoubtedly looking forward to the future applications of Armant Haki even more.
He focused his mind and held his breath.
Zane controlled his Nen aura, accelerating its flow over his right fist, which was also wrapped in Armant Haki.
Although the two were distinct, the sudden movent of one clearly influenced the other.
It was a feat akin to water dripping through stone.
With the continuous flow of Nen aura and Zane's conscious attempts to control the Armant Haki...
After an unknown amount of ti, the Armant Haki that had been wrapped around his right fist like a solid mass actually began to flow slowly alongside the Nen aura.
This change imdiately caused Zane's spirits to rise.
He didn't relax in the slightest.
Zane focused even more on guiding and controlling the Armant Haki.
Hmm...
It was flowing, alright.
But the flow of the Armant Haki could only be described as exceptionally slow.
Such a flow speed was obviously insufficient for use in actual combat.
Zane wasn't discouraged by this, however.
After all, this was only the beginning.
If learning 'Flow' were really that easy, he would be seriously underestimating the weight of Armant Haki.
'Right, I almost forgot to test my Nen category.'
After a long session of training, Zane suddenly realized.
He imdiately found a glass of water in the room and plucked a leaf from a green plant, placing it on the surface.
He placed both hands on either side of the water-filled glass and began to inject his Nen aura into it.
This was the Water Divination test created by the Shingen-ryu, specifically used to determine one's Nen category.
Nen categories are divided into six types:
Enhancent!
Transmutation!
Conjuration!
Emission!
Manipulation!
Specialization!
These six categories have no inherent ranking; they are simply different paths of developnt.
Under Zane's watchful eye, as his Nen aura entered the glass, the clear water gradually began to produce small black crystals.
"A Conjurer?"
Zane looked at the black crystals forming in the water with surprise.
According to the manifestations of each category:
Enhancent increases the volu of water.
Transmutation changes the taste of the water.
Conjuration causes crystals or other objects to appear in the water.
Emission changes the color of the water.
Manipulation causes the leaf to move.
Specialization causes a phenonon different from the other five.
Now that black crystals had appeared in the glass, this was undoubtedly the sign of a Conjurer.
Withdrawing his Nen aura, Zane rubbed his chin.
The result of being a Conjurer was quite unexpected for him.
He had thought he would be an Enhancer.
After all, people from the world of pirates really fit the temperant of an Enhancer.
'Conjuration is the process of transforming one's Nen aura into a desired object. Whether it's a physical substance, a space, a Nen ability, or even a consciousness... theoretically, one can conjure anything...'
Information about the Conjuration category flashed through Zane's mind.
Since he now knew his category, the subsequent developnt of a Nen ability would certainly be essential.
A Nen ability was like a custom-made power, so Zane naturally took it very seriously.
Based on the characteristics of a Conjurer, various ideas for Nen ability developnt began to surface in his mind.
'No need to rush. I've only just started. Developing a Nen ability requires careful thought. For now, I should focus on mastering the basic techniques.'
Zane suppressed his inner restlessness and, once he had cald down, began training once again.
Night had long since arrived.
Whether it was the guidance of Armant Haki or the application techniques of Nen...
Before he knew it, Zane had been training late into the night.
Growl, growl...
Zane's focused training was interrupted by a low rumble, and in the next second, a sense of ravenous hunger swept through him.
"Hungry again!"
Zane patted his stomach, which had once again beco sunken but still showed defined abdominal lines, and stopped his training with a sigh of helplessness.
Getting up and putting on his clothes, Zane left the room and headed straight for the dining hall.
Fortunately, the dining hall on the airship operated twenty-four hours a day.
Although Zane's return shocked the waiters and chefs, they still worked hard to provide a bountiful feast.
After another full al, Zane leisurely made his way back to his room.
Thump, thump, thump...
As he passed through a corridor, the sound of a ball being bounced ca from nearby, causing Zane to subconsciously look over.
"This is..."
Zane raised an eyebrow. After a mont's thought, he seed to recall sothing and imdiately changed direction, walking toward the room where the sound originated.
o_O
Pushing the door open a crack, Zane peeked inside to observe the situation.
Inside was a large, empty room.
At the sa ti, what t his eyes were Gon and Killua, who were desperately trying to snatch a ball from Netero's hands.
Just as I thought!
He wondered who else would be bored enough to play with a ball in the middle of the night.
Straightening his posture...
Having understood the situation inside, Zane pushed the door open and entered.
"Sorry to barge in!"
Zane walked inside, smiling and raising a hand to greet the three of them as if he were an old friend.
"Zane?!"
Out of the three looking over, Gon was the one with a surprised look at Zane's sudden appearance.
"So it's you. I was wondering who was peeping outside just now," Killua said, sowhat annoyed.
Though he was still young, he was, after all, a professional assassin.
Since Zane hadn't intentionally hidden his presence, his actions outside the door had clearly been noticed by Killua.
The sa was true for Netero.
He didn't show the slightest surprise at Zane's appearance; instead, he studied him with great interest.
"It really is great to be young. To still have so much energy after being busy all day," Netero said, as if with a sigh.
Zane, who was nodding and smiling at Gon and Killua, heard Netero's comnt and imdiately laughed. "You're being too modest, Chairman. Aren't you also full of energy yourself?"
"I'm old now. Look, in just this short while, these two boys have had running all over the place." Standing on one leg, breathing steadily without a single drop of sweat, Netero spun the ball leisurely.
Seeing the other man claiming to be old while actually humblebragging, Zane was quite speechless.
This old man really knows how to put on a show.
"Zane, we were just..." Beside him, Gon explained the situation.
The reason for the ball-snatching ga was that he and Killua had encountered Netero while exploring the airship.
Afterward, Netero had used a Hunter License as bait to entice the two kids to play with him.
Of course, Zane knew very well that this was actually because Netero had recognized Gon and Killua's backgrounds and wanted to test their potential in advance.
"Sounds like fun. What do you say, Chairman? Do you mind if I join in?" After Gon finished his explanation, Zane looked at Netero with interest.
"Ho ho ho... it's more fun with more people. You are more than welco." Netero was all smiles.
'The Ten on his body is still quite green, but it doesn't look like a lack of control. Instead, it seems like he only recently opened his aura nodes.'
'Yet, the volu of his Nen aura is unusually massive.'
'Not bad.'
'Another exceptionally excellent seedling.'
