"You've got a good eye."

Zane, who had faced him five tis now, nodded slightly with satisfaction, even expressing his appreciation for Netero with a glance.

Beside him, Gon, who also had five chances, scratched his head in embarrassnt.

Compared to those two, Killua had lost his cool a bit.

He didn't mind Gon having more opportunities, but he would never admit that he was inferior to him.

"I can't accept that reasoning. Please tell us your scoring thod!" Killua said, his eyes locked on Netero.

"Ho ho ho... No!"

Netero looked at Killua with a grin before suddenly letting out a strange shout toward him.

"What was that for!"

Startled, Killua glared at the old man.

"The scoring thod is top secret, so I can't tell you that. However, I can tell you what we were evaluating."

"First is the review criteria. It roughly consists of three categories: physical ability, ntal ability, and impression values."

"Physical ability is a comprehensive score of agility, flexibility, endurance, and the five senses."

"ntal ability is the total value of your resilience, flexibility, judgnt, creativity, and so on."

"However, these values are actually just for reference. After all, since you've made it all the way to the final test, your various abilities speak for themselves."

"So, the key lies in the impression value."

"This refers to a certain quality that cannot be asured by the nurical values ntioned above."

"Hmm... if I had to describe it, I suppose it would be the evaluation of your Hunter potential!"

After teasing the Zoldyck heir, Netero began to slowly explain the source of the scores.

As he listened to the explanation, Killua's expression fluctuated.

In his heart, he believed his potential should be above Gon's, yet now he was being told that his potential was evaluated as lower.

This inevitably caused him to sink into self-doubt.

"Stop spacing out. Didn't you hear the Chairman say it's about Hunter potential?" A large hand landed on the dazed Killua's head.

His soft white hair was ruffled as Zane's voice reached his ears.

Startled, Killua looked up at Zane, who had approached him at so point.

"Are you saying I'm behind because my Hunter potential isn't as good as Gon's?" Killua couldn't help but ask.

Zane shrugged and said, "What else? Don't tell you actually think you're worse than Gon?"

"Of course not!" Killua replied without hesitation.

But just as the words left his mouth, he realized what he'd said.

Sure enough, Gon, Leorio, and Kurapika were all stealing glances at him, clearly having noticed his unusual behavior long ago.

In an instant.

Killua's face instantly flushed crimson, and his toes curled inside his shoes.

'What am I even saying?'

At that mont, the Little White Cat wanted nothing more than to find a mouse hole to crawl into.

Looking at Killua's embarrassed state, Zane found it quite amusing, while also quickly glancing sideways at a certain person staring at him from not far away.

Ignoring a certain twisted, brother-obsessed killer, Zane calmly ruffled Killua's white hair once more before letting go.

After that brief interlude, the final test officially comnced.

The very first match featured Zane and Gon from Group A.

The other candidates and examiners retreated to the walls.

"Go Zane! Go Gon!"

"At this rate, I really don't know who to root for."

Regarding the battle between Zane and Gon, Leorio chose to be impartial, cheering for both sides, while Kurapika looked on with a helpless expression.

"In terms of strength, Zane definitely has the upper hand. However, the rules of this test require one side to admit defeat voluntarily, so it depends on whether Zane can make Gon back down." As if trying to make everyone forget his previous embarrassnt, Killua offered a serious analysis from the side.

In the center of the arena.

Zane and Gon each walked to their respective sides, facing each other from a distance of five or six ters.

'If I fight him head-on, there's no way I can beat Zane, but I might not lose when it cos to stamina. So for the next fight, I have to rely on my physical endurance to wear him down.'

Like Killua, Gon's eyes were fixed on Zane while he ntally analyzed his strategy for victory.

"The first match, Zane vs. Gon, begin!!!" The suit-clad referee stepped between the two, his raised right hand dropping as he shouted the announcent.

Whoosh!

The mont the referee finished speaking, Gon, who had been ready for action, imdiately moved.

With explosive power like a sprinting cheetah, he dashed toward one side, clearly intending to put distance between himself and Zane.

Standing naturally, Zane's gaze followed Gon's movent.

With a flicker of his silhouette, Zane vanished from his spot in the blink of an eye.

'Zane is extrely fast, so I can't move in a straight line. I need to keep changing directions.'

The sprinting Gon reached one of the walls almost instantly.

But he didn't stop; instead, he leaped up, using his montum to continue sprinting horizontally across the wall.

At the sa ti, Gon consciously changed directions mid-sprint, making it difficult to predict his next move.

However...

Gon's pupils constricted.

His rapid sprint ca to a sudden halt.

Like a teleportation, Zane suddenly appeared right in front of Gon, his right hand easily grabbing the boy by the neck.

Exerting force from his feet.

Holding Gon by the neck, Zane dropped from the wall back to the ground.

As the grip tightened, the sensation of suffocation turned Gon's face red, but he still endured it and desperately twisted his body, kicking out at Zane's right arm.

Thud!!

Before Gon's foot could even land on Zane's arm, Zane had already made the first move.

With a dull thud, Zane slamd Gon hard against the nearby wall.

The violent impact even caused the wall to crack, spiderweb-like fissures spreading out from the point of contact.

Letting out a muffled groan, Gon's face contorted in pain from the impact, and his struggling weakened as his strength seed to drain away.

"Zane is being way too ruthless!"

"The gap in strength is just too vast. Gon's best option right now is to concede and try to maintain his condition for the next opponent."

Seeing that Gon was seriously injured, Leorio and Kurapika couldn't help but feel worried.

Both would have been fine with either Zane or Gon winning.

But under the current circumstances, Zane clearly held the absolute advantage.

"Gon, I'm not going to go easy on you, so you should just give up now!" Looking at Gon, who seed like he was about to suffocate, Zane spoke with a calm expression.

Saying this, as if to give Gon a chance to surrender, he released his right hand and let him drop to the ground.

"I'll never give up!" With a raspy shout, Gon flipped over as soon as he hit the ground and delivered a sweep kick toward Zane's lower half.

Thud!!

Zane didn't budge an inch, looking down coldly at Gon below him.

"It hurts!!!"

Gon's sweep kick landed squarely on Zane's left leg, but instead of Zane falling, it was Gon whose face contorted in pain.

It was just like when Killua had tried a sweep kick on Netero before.

Gon felt as if his foot had struck solid steel, the pain making him instinctively clutch his right foot and roll on the ground.
