Bang!!!

Before Kaku and Kalifa could even react, one of the afterimages suddenly shifted its trajectory while passing by Kalifa.

He spun and delivered a sweeping kick.

The afterimage—or rather, the real Zane—easily connected with the back of Kalifa's neck.

With a muffled thud, Kalifa's head hit the ground as her eyes rolled back, and she lost consciousness instantly.

"Kalifa!!!"

On the other side, Kaku finally reacted. With a roar of fury, he executed Shave and threw a punch toward Zane.

Zane simply raised his hand.

Clap!

He caught the fist with effortless composure.

Then ca the counter: a knee strike.

Zane's knee slamd into Kaku's abdon with brutal force.

A visible shockwave rippled through the air from the impact.

Kaku's eyes bulged, and a spray of blood erupted from his mouth.

The force of the impact should have sent him flying backward, but Zane held onto the fist he had just caught, jerking him back and pinning him in place.

Raising his left arm without a second's pause, Zane drove his elbow down, slamming it into the top of Kaku's head.

Bang!!!

The outco was never in doubt.

Like Kalifa, Kaku's eyes rolled back, and he collapsed facedown into the dirt.

'To be safe, I should send one of them to the Door-Door Space first.'

Looking down at the two unconscious agents, Zane pressed his right hand against the air beside him.

He activated the Door-Door Fruit's power.

His palm seed to push open an illusory portal in the very void of space.

With a flick of his toe, Zane tossed Kalifa into the Door-Door Space and closed the portal.

Next ca the harvest.

[LET'S DUEL!] could only be used three tis a day.

He had already used it twice on Blueno and Rob Lucci.

This third use was naturally reserved for Kaku.

This was the real reason Zane had sent Kalifa into the space first.

It wasn't out of chivalry or so lecherous intent; he simply needed to wait until tomorrow before he could plunder her.

Kaku remained in a deep coma.

Once Kaku was pulled into the Equality Space, the result was a foregone conclusion.

A short while later, Zane reappeared in the sa spot where he and Kaku had vanished.

'Although he's quite a bit weaker than Rob Lucci, he is still one of the top three experts in CP9.'

Zane felt a lingering sense of satisfaction.

For Kaku's plunder, he had once again chosen to take the target's ntal attribute.

It was just as he expected.

While Kaku's ntal attribute didn't match Lucci's, it still provided a significant boost to his own ntal strength.

Pressing his hand against the air once more...

Zane stepped leisurely into the Door-Door Space.

The Door-Door Space was a unique dinsion.

It wasn't completely cut off from the outside world; one could look out from within.

Furthermore, one could move freely while inside the Door-Door Space.

Leaning down to hoist the previously deposited Kalifa onto his shoulder, Zane moved through the Door-Door Space, heading back toward the coast where the Riding the Wind and Waves was docked.

......

The night provided the perfect cover.

This was convenient not only for Zane in his hunt for CP9, but for others as well.

When Zane successfully returned to the Riding the Wind and Waves...

Inside his cabin, Manlong, who had been guarding the ship, began his report.

"Boss, your guess was right. While you were gone, soone did indeed try sothing," Manlong said in a low voice.

"Who?" Zane asked calmly.

"Sarkies!"

Manlong quickly provided the na.

Sarkies was originally the vice-captain of the Bellamy Pirates.

"Where is he now?"

"I've already got him under control."

"Bring him in."

"Yes, sir!"

A few monts later, a battered and bruised Sarkies—clearly having been given a thorough beating—was dragged in by Manlong.

Thud!

With a shove from Manlong, the already heavily injured Sarkies collapsed weakly onto his knees.

"Tell , what did you do after you snuck off the ship?" Zane asked, sitting imperiously on the sofa as he looked down at the man.

"Cough... cough... are you scared? Hahaha! That's right, you should be terrified! I've already contacted the Donquixote Pirates and told them you killed Bellamy. Just you wait—you're going to be hunted down!"

Despite his pathetic state, Sarkies' face was full of spiteful joy and triumph as he faced Zane.

"So, the Donquixote Pirates know I'm heading to Mock Town next?" Zane asked, his expression unreadable.

Sarkies felt a montary pang of alarm, but the thought of the Donquixote Pirates' overwhelming power quickly reassured him.

He sneered, "That's right! But don't think you can escape just by avoiding Mock Town. You have no idea how terrifying the Donquixote Pirates are. No matter where you run, they'll find you sooner or later."

Sarkies expected his words to strike fear into Zane's heart.

But the reaction was the exact opposite.

Upon hearing Sarkies' words, Zane suddenly broke into a grin.

"Excellent. You did well," Zane laughed.

Sarkies was stunned.

He couldn't understand why Zane was laughing at a ti like this.

Just as he began to think Zane was simply too ignorant to realize the danger Doflamingo posed, Zane spoke with a playful smile.

"What? You look surprised. Did you really think you managed to sneak out because of your own skill? If that were true, how would Manlong have caught you?"

"You..." Sarkies' heart skipped a beat as a suspicion began to take root. He looked at Zane in disbelief.

"Heh heh... Yes, that's the look. It seems you finally understand. Indeed, the only reason you could slip away to send that ssage was because I allowed it."

"Think about it. Back when we went to Newcastle Island for supplies, I kept a very close eye on all of you. But this ti?"

"Did you really think that after a few months, I would just stop being on guard?" Zane crossed his legs and rested his hands on his knees, speaking with a calm smile.

Knowing the threat Doflamingo posed, there was no way he would neglect his defenses.

On this trip to Water 7, while he appeared to let his guard down to hunt Lucci and the others, he had secretly instructed Manlong to keep a close watch on everyone.

His goal was to test the loyalty of his subordinates.

The crew was mostly made up of forr pirates.

Everyone knows how pirates are.

A small test like this was only natural.

And now, the results were in.

Perhaps Sarkies was a man of sentint.

Even though Bellamy had been dead for a long ti, he was still willing to seek revenge.

But to Zane...

He was nothing more than an ungrateful cur.

In this cruel sea, he considered himself quite benevolent for taking in the defeated and even investing in their growth.

Yet, despite that, this man was still unsatisfied.

Having allowed Sarkies to taste true despair, Zane no longer had any desire to continue the conversation.

With a wave of his hand, Manlong imdiately stepped forward and dragged Sarkies out of the room.

A cruel death undoubtedly awaited him.
