‘I only have one more use of Fighting Spirit, and then…’ The half elf considered his abilities, but without Fighting Spirit, he wasn’t confident he could face the likes of a Fariq. Thankfully, Onward Soar and Tough Spirit were still an option, since he only needed a Short Rest to recover them.

On: 11, 16

‘Nephew, allow to take you for a al,’ Zayan said, while Silver Panther, and the other warriors invited themselves, each offering to bring a drink to the al.

‘We can et up later tonight,’ Adam replied, thanking them for the invite, before leaving to the estate to rest.

The Faro had brought the two groups to one of her many estates, her guards slightly tense due to all the warriors who arrived, though Kal Fadi relaxed their hearts. Thankfully, she only brought the Order and the Iyrn, allowing them their privacy, while thanking the other warriors with a chest of silver, gold, and gems, the kind of gems which bought their curiosity.

While Adam had rested up, his companions mingled with the Order, and though Fariq Idris and the Fariq Thanwi had co to pay a visit to Arisa, there were those of the youth, those who were Experts, and those who were still in training, who had co to spar for the ease of the commonfolk within Arisa.

The garden which welcod the two great forces was almost purely white under the snow of nightval, which even overwheld the land of the golden sun, Aswadasad. The chill remained at bay thanks to the various magical gems which ward the floor, allowing Adam and the Fariq to stand opposite one another, surrounded by their companions, as well as the Faro, who could not draw her eyes away.

“Young hero, I will not use my Oath in this bout, to ease your heart.”

“Thank you kindly,” Adam replied, bowing his head lightly. “My heart is at ease, especially after eting the great heroes of those of the Amber Blade.”

Idris wondered if the half elf was picking a fight, since they hadn’t spoken much, however, he pushed the thought out of his mind, and readied his large greatsword, clutching it tight in hand. He rely wished to see it, the star of this young hero burning brightly, for himself.

“Why did you not stop it?” Tanagek whispered in the Iyr’s tongue, though all he found was Jurot’s silence.

This mont was perhaps Adam’s most difficult battle. Though the Amber Blade was a step behind the previous Grand Commander of the Thousand Hunts, Adam was not fighting at the height of his strength, and he would need to hold back too. Jurot hoped this bout would be able to cent Adam’s heart after his fight with Kal Kalim.

Bael peeked open an eye to watch, but the exhaustion remained set within his body. He would need to spend the entirety of the Twilight Month asleep to regain much of his strength, and though he wanted to nap now, he needed to watch this fight, for the sake of his heart, and for the sake of theirs.

Due to the Fariq’s thoughts, Adam stepped forward a mont quicker than the Amber Blade, and as they clashed, the half elf’s heart ached, filling with a nervousness, while Idris remained uncertain, for the clash was not quite as violent with Kalim.

‘Is he too tired after the last bout?’ Idris thought, the pair clashing violently, and as his blade threatened to force the half elf back, suddenly a magical force force it backwards, the thunderous might of the half elf’s axe forcing him backwards a step. ‘What?’

The eyes Idris saw through the visor a pair of eyes so full of desperation, for this was not a simple fight for the half elf. ‘What is it that presses you so?’

Adam was glad he wore his ring and cloak, otherwise this bout would have been far more terrifying, and he would have allowed the Fariq to be able to strike him. Thankfully, he had said he wouldn’t use his terrifying ability, which would have been difficult to deal with.

‘What a terrifying young man!’ Idris thought, as his blade flashed white, amplifying the amber as it overwheld the half elf, forcing the flas away as the half elf brought him low. Although the half elf was fighting desperately, he couldn’t allow the half elf to win, not when Kal Kalim had been defeated already.

Adam grunted in pain, for it had been such a long ti since he had managed to take such a heavy blow, the kind of blow that not even Shield could fend off. His shield arm ached, the half elf skidding backwards slightly, panting for air.

‘Damn it!’ However, though Adam could step forward, he realised that his chances to defeat the Fariq were too even, and it was best to step back, especially since he couldn’t utilise the greatest of his abilities.

Today was not the day.

However, at the very least, he could use it to form better relations with the Order, since he needed more allies in Aswadasad, and those closer to Aldland, and Arisa, were fine allies.

“I will step back, Kal Idris, for-,” Adam had began, even lowering his axe and shield, panting for air, only to find a blur of amber coming towards his face, the half elf trying to bring his shield up, but unfortunately for him, he had half dropped it, giving his foe a great opening.

On: 11, 16 -> 16

Adam plucked a Thread of Fate.

“It is just my luck,” the figure said, whose once long hair was now cut short.

The trees of the jungle shuddering away to reveal a giant green bestial dragon, the kind whose eyes were full of a predatory gaze, especially for a figure who bathed in blood. Yet, as the creature glared at the figure beneath its gaze, so diminutive, except those eyes, they seed so joyful and playful, glistening with a darkness.

“You have co to dine, and I have co to hunt,” the Iyrman said, who smiled, a smile that was not awkward, for his lips did not enjoy making awkward smiles. It was this Iyrman, who looked almost the sa as his elder brothers, hair greyed by age, a thick beard now hiding much of his jaw.

Just how long had he spent here? He should have returned years ago, he was certain of that. He should have returned back then, so he could go and cut the necks of those who dared to harm those tiny children, who used to bully him so, and yet, would shower him in such tender affection.

‘No,’ the Iyrman thought, his entire body flashing hot red as the dragon rent flesh across his chest, neck, and cheek, his own axe tearing into its green hide, cutting fresh the liquid crimson, the sa liquid crimson which would spur him towards greater heights.

He had just entered the domain, but it was not ti to leave, not until his heart was satisfied. Even if it ant facing against this green dragon, the poison threatening to seep deep within him, and yet, he stepped forward. Until he could beco as reliable as his elder brothers, as his wife, he would not retreat, for death was more desirable than weakness.

Thus Fate was forever changed.

Adam remained frozen in shock, as Idris’ blade dented his magical shield, forcing the half elf to skid backwards. The clash grew silent to their ears, the silence of the world deafened their hearts. Adam reached up and undid his visor, holding the despicable Fariq’s gaze within his own.

The Fariq remained silent, hiding his face behind his visor, for the warmth in his blood had grown as hot as the noonval sun, and then after swinging his blade, was cooler than even the nightval ocean.

“My deepest apologies, young hero,” the Fariq finally said, his voice full of sha.

“Oh?” Adam replied. “You’re sorry?”

“I do not know what overca .”

Adam thought about how likely he had been to fall to that blade.

Health: 48

A decent blow from an Oathsworn would have knocked him unconscious, and for him, who had stepped back in order for them both to save face due to his own misunderstanding, and to reward Amber Blade with piles of silver, gold, and magical weapons, only to be repaid with this?

“I thought, here, in Aswadasad, it was different, but you, Fariq, are no better than the Aldish!” Adam declared, his heart pounding violently within his chest.

The Fariq could see the gaze of all the figures around him, glad he had kept his visor shut, not wanting to reveal his shaful face to the world.
