A storm of trouble descended upon the estate, as the noonval sun, passed its zenith, dared not to bare too deeply.

“Mummy! Mummy! Mummy!” The squealing of the children filling the air, charging towards their mother who had returned a short while ago.

Vonda smiled, allowing them to climb on top of her, all the while the largest child rushed towards her own mother, standing tall and proud before the woman, who brushed her cheek tenderly.

“Mother…”

“Lanarot.”

Lanarot smirked, holding out a fist, and her mother gently bumped fists, the girl blinking, revealing the gift within her hand, a small ring ford of glass, the kind tempered with all manner of flas so it would not shatter quite as easily as typical glass.

Sonarot smiled.

“Mummy! I have bought you a gift!” Jirot declared, revealing the scarf, holding up the small package she had hugged the entire way, a thin sheet of paper, wrapped in twine.

“A gift for ? How… surprising?” Vonda teased, accepting the package from her daughter, then glanced between her children, each of whom held gifts for their mother. “So many gifts for . I am so lucky.”

“Mummy, we have bought so many gifts!” Jirot declared, though she did not leave her mother just yet, waiting and waiting.

Vonda thought to tease her children for a mont, but carefully untied the twine, and revealed the scarf, white, with pink flowers, and pink thread all along the seams. “What a beautiful gift.”

Jirot let out a satisfied sigh, waiting for her mother to open the rest of the gifts, more scarves from her children, and a cup too, holding it within her hands, causing Karot to smirk, for he was his mother’s son too. Even Lanarot approached to hand over her gift, a tassel cord of silver, for she was not a fool to give a Ray a dagger, for though she was her brother’s sister, she was also her sister’s sister, though she was her grandfather’s granddaughter, she was her mother’s daughter.

The children sward upon the others swiftly, revealing their gifts to each of them, from their grandmother, to even Yasha, who gleefully accepted the cup, scarf, journal, tassel cord, even a hat, from the children, as did the rest. ‘Should I give my gifts to them now?’

Sara held Jirot and Jarot upon her lap, accepting their gifts and affection, the children speaking of their small tale, of how they t the rchants, then went shopping, and then once they were done, they returned back to their mother.

“More gifts?” Vonda mused, accepting the small pieces of papers tied with string, noting all the small tokens, jewellery, and even uthur, a pricey gift from her children.

“Mummy! You think I am so cheap? I will give you a hundred, a thousand, a million gifts, mummy! I spend all my money for you, mummy!” Jirot placed her hand upon her mother’s, clasping it within her tiny green hands, huffing, for she was her father’s daughter.

“Did you not spend your father’s coin?”

“No! This is the money I spent the gold from my bank, mummy! I only borrowed from daddy, but this is my money, mummy!” The girl reached into her modesti, and from nowhere, she revealed the small piece of paper, from Jarot’s gift to her, in which she had written all the money she had spent.

Vonda blinked. She turned her head, and when her husband saw her gaze, he instantly looked aside, towards a particularly noisy little girl who squealed and charged him, thanking all the Divine at her timing.

How did he allow their daughter to spend this much gold?

“What’s this?” Adam gasped, noticing how puffy his sister’s eyes were. “What happened, Amal? Did soone bully you? Do you need this brother of yours to… talk to anyone?”

“She cried so much for you,” Sonarot said.

“What? Amal! Did you cry for your papa?” Adam gasped.

The girl sucked her thumb, clutching at his collar tight, as her nieces and nephews would, the girl resting her head against his shoulder, only barely listening to his words.

“This brother of yours! What a fool he is! To leave you all alone! Can you ever forgive this fool of a brother of yours?” Adam’s heart swelled, the half elf peppering her cheek and neck with kisses, causing the girl to squeal, returning his aggressive affection.

Lanarot stared up at the pair, pouting slightly, for had her brother ever been so affectionate to her. She buried the feeling within her heart, since she would also spoil Amalrot, but-,

Lanarot blinked, looking up at her elder brother, who held her up by the back of her modesti, which was quite well made, considering the coin they had spent, he expected it be to be.

“…”

“…”

“Should I throw you into the air?” Jurot offered.

The girl flushed slightly.

“Do not,” Sonarot said. “Bael will fly with her later.”

Bael, who had just returned, as though he hadn’t been following them this entire ti, blinked. ‘Do you think-,’

‘Be careful,’ the old man’s voice had said all those years ago. ‘Even if you are one of mine, the Iyr will still beat you senseless.’

‘You old geezer, you think I’ll lose to any of them?’

‘After all this ti, they would still be alive.’

‘They?’

‘Should I throw you at another statue.’ The old man waved his hand, dismissing the fool’s concerns, since he could spill the Iyr’s secrets freely, but shouldn’t this damn brat learn all by himself?

‘Do you think I’ll let you drop the topic like that, you old geezer?’

‘…’

‘Yes,’ Bael finally said, wanting to crash against a statue, for they were made of soil, and scattered so wondrously into the air, like butterflies, and when he summoned his lightning, turned to the most beautiful glass.

Bael recalled the various warning the old geezer had given to him over the course of a century about the Iyr. Upon hearing Sonarot state he was able to fly with the girl, he flushed lightly, crossing his arms. ‘I hadn’t expect them to trust that much…’

Jurot held Bael within his sights, though the half dragon decided to ignore such a vicious look, since not even Jurot could easily draw his axe against him.

Why?

“Jirot, Jarot, should I tell you the tale of the Earth Demon Twins?”

“Oooh!” Jirot’s eyes sparkled, for hearing the tale of the Upper Realms, though ant to be a secret, was sothing she couldn’t resist.

“Jirot, Jarot, should I braid your hair?” Lucy asked, eting Bael’s gaze, for regardless of who he was, he should know his place.

The pair glared between one another, each the descendants of terrifying figures, one of this world and Realms, and another from an impossible distance away.

“You can braid my hair as I listen to the tale,” Jirot replied.

Lucy blinked. She had wanted to take the girl away alone from Bael, to teach him a lesson, but she couldn’t really argue against that logic.

“I wanted to nap with you both,” Mara said.

“Okay!” the pair replied, each quickly swarming Mara.

Lucy blinked. However, she smirked, side eyeing Bael, for Mara’s victory was also her victory. ‘Do you think you can co in and take my place? After the Gaks, I am their favourite horned one.’

Jirot held Mara’s gaze, the girl letting out a soft sigh, brushing through her hair. ‘Kako, if you are such trouble too…’

Little Jarot blinked. He smiled innocent towards Mara, who smiled innocently in return.

“Oh, by the way, we have a dinner reservation with Tamil and Aliya.”

“The paper rchants?” Vonda replied, holding the triplets, though it was more she wore them upon her.

“Yeah. Speaking of which, we need to prepare a proper gift for little Riham.”

“Will you adopt her?”

“How did you know?” Adam blinked, causing his wife to sigh playfully. “Although, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to defeat her father in that regard.”

“He is like that?”

“He is like that.”

Lanarot stord towards Pam, only after she had settled herself, for she needed to teach her sister she could not relax so easily in front of her. The girl held up a dagger.

“For ?”

“For you, sister.”

“I don’t really fight…”

“Sister, you must be able to defend yourself.”

“Won’t your brother protect ?”

“There are tis when we must protect ourselves,” Lanarot said gravely.

Pam blinked.

Lanarot was pretty sure that’s what she was told. “You are not four or five, so you are able to wield this steel.”

‘Why is she speaking such terrifying words?’ Pam thought, but then again, it was Lanarot.

“Jurot,” Adam whispered. “Why don’t you take Pam on a date tonight? I’ll take my kids, you take Pam, and… I guess you can take Lanarot and Amalrot?”

Unfortunately for the half elf, he froze in place, feeling the gaze from beside him. As his eyes slowly trailed downwards, he found the chonky blue skinned girl glaring at him, gripping his collar tight in hand.

“Okay…” Adam relented.

Thankfully, various shadows appeared to save him from his sister’s wrath.
