“I did not realise it was so difficult to buy a thousand blocks of cheese,” the girl admitted, within the arms of her greatmother.
“You wished to buy a thousand blocks of cheese?” her greatmother asked.
“Yes, nano! That is what I said! I said I will buy a thousand blocks!” Jirot stated, huffing at her greatmother, though her arms remained wrapped tightly around her greatmother’s neck.
“You can buy a thousand blocks for her over the years.”
“That is going to take so long!”
“Yes.”
Jirot blinked. “Too long, nano! I will grow so old!”
“Yes, but Amalrot will remain chonky if you feed her so much,” Gangak replied playfully.
Jirot’s lips twitched upwards, the girl placing a hand upon her forehead, brushing along the top of her scarf, as though running her fingers through her hair. “Oh my gosh. What am I to do? I must buy a thousand blocks over the years…”
“Ball,” little Jarot said, pointing at the ball.
“Yes,” the old Jarot replied, buying the ball for his greatson, who held it between his hands, offering it to his elder sister, the girl accepting it, revealing it to her greatmother.
“Ball!” Jirot declared excitedly.
“Yes…” Gangak’s lips ford a wider smile, leaning in to nuzzle the girl’s nose, and they continued to explore the market together, all the while the Fifth Death Swords, adorned in black, blades at their side, their faces hidden away by the fine cloth hanging from their hats, though their presence remained a blight upon the Arisian roads.
As the children spent their weight in silver, their father, too, spent his weight in silver.
As the magical weapons dominated the auction, the half elf and his group remained mostly silent. The first was a Basic sword, well made, surely, but a Basic sword wasn’t sothing which inspired much from the the group, for they could all procure such for a better price elsewhere, so freely.
Even as multiple Basic daggers, shortblades, scimitars, and spears revealed themselves, the group did not make to move, save a few bids from Mohamd, who could not at least show face, for it was untoward not to at least make them work for the items.
‘The auctions here are kinda crazy,’ the half elf thought. ‘In Red Oak, it was only about twenty or thirty percent, but here it’s a minimum of fifty, and…’
As a set of two Basic shortblades sold for almost four thousand, the half elf stared at the sky. ‘If only it was quickly to head to Arisa, I could…’
As the light intermission began, the half elf poured his wife a cup of kafa, suddenly lethargic from not being willing to open up his purse. Thankfully his wife was enjoying herself speaking with Aliya and Tamil, each about the political situation in Aswadasad, with its unique relationship with Floria.
‘If only Aswadasad wasn’t as fragnted,’ Vonda thought, though there was also a relief the country was not as united as even Aldland, for it would have been a force to be reckoned with. If the various villages, tribes, those who hold the na Aswadian second after their own personal identities, had gathered together so firmly as Aswadian, even Aldland would tremble. However, if that ca to pass, then too much death would surround the lands, and as a Ray of Life’s Rose, Vonda prayed all remained in moderation.
“It is a great fortune the First Hope has stepped onto the battlefield,” Tamil said, though his words were more genuine than one might expect. “I have heard the First, Second, and Third Hopes have all stepped out, along with quite a number of Rays.”
“If the First Hope, Second Hope, Third Hope, and their Rays join alongside the Holy Sons of Aswadasad, one might suggest they could feel sympathy for the Reavers,” Vonda half joked, for it was highly unlikely more than a handful of the Holy Sons of Aswadasad would step forward, though even a half dozen would be a terrifying force, for they possessed one of the great magics of Third Gate which all feared. If, say, twenty had stepped out, alongside with the Hopes and their Rays, they could certainly defeat close to triple their number, just by sheer virtue of their magic, even if their opponents were all Experts.
“However, the Reavers aren’t simple,” Aliya said, tempering their hopes. If they could kill the likes of Jalal, the Bright Star, it only ant the Reavers possessed great warriors of their own. If they possessed multiple, then they would need to send more than the likes of even Scholar Muh.
“Thankfully, the Poison Dragon Sword has stepped forward,” Tamil said, his voice full of relief, and he chuckled with delight. “They say he has already slaughtered his way through a hundred!”
“If it is Poison Dragon Sword, the number should be a thousand,” Aliya inford, and Tamil nodded, chuckling further.
“Why does that na sound so familiar?” Adam whispered, glancing aside to his wife, holding her gaze. Upon seeing her eyes, the half elf closed his eyes, entering his mind palace.
History Check (Advantage)
D20 3 = 11 (8)
D20 3 = 21 (18)
“Oh! Kal Isam!” the half elf half exclaid. “Oh yes! Kal Isam, the Poison Sword Dragon, the younger sibling of Dawn, right?”
Vonda tilted her head, for the half elf’s sudden lucidity even surprised her.
“She is Jirot’s favourite hero from history,” Adam explained, and no one was confused as to how he recalled the na with such swiftness. “They say that even the Sleeping Dragon of Arisa would bow her head to the Poison Sword Dragon.”
“Yes,” Tamil said, though as he adjusted his glasses, he recalled what he knew of Kal Isam personally. “It is mostly because…”
Aliya and her husband exchanged looked, but decided against saying more, for they both wished for long lives.
“The Poison Sword Dragon is so strong,” Lanarot said, reaching out a hand for her eldest brother, the Iyrman staring into his younger sister’s eyes, and the girl smirked. “I am not saying anything, brother.”
“Okay,” Jurot replied.
“If the Poison Sword Dragon is strong…” Lanarot began, waiting to see if Jurot would stop her. “If the Poison Sword Dragon is strong, then anyone who defeats him is strong?”
“Yes,” Jurot replied.
The girl brushed her hair behind her ear, peeking up towards her sister, who smiled awkwardly in return, and the girl let out a soft sigh. “Oh my gosh. What am I to do?”
Jurot pinched the girl’s nose to stop her from causing trouble, for she was her niece’s aunt.
It was then the Greater weapons began to sell. As they continued to sell for tens of thousands of silver, the half elf turned to face his wife, his eyes holding a question, the woman tilting her head in return. His eyes and mind then wandered.
As the Basic Enhanced weapons began to enter the fray, first a trident which held quite a connection to the sea, the half elf raised a finger to bid multiple tis, his mind wandering.
‘If I auction so stuff in Arisa, wouldn’t I be able to work less?’ the half elf thought. ‘What if I auction things in the capital? It’s roughly twice as big and has a bunch of towns nearby too…’
“Fifty thousand silver, to Mo Adam, of the United Kindom,” Dina said, and the half elf nodded, absentmindedly, as though he hadn’t even recognised he had bought the trident.

The Sea is Gentle. When within a body of water or under the rain you may dash as a bonus action.
The Sea is Harsh. When within a body of water or under the rain deal 3 damage.
Then, next, the bow ca out, and the half elf, once more, raised his hand to bid while deep in thought.
“Forty seven thousand, to Mo Adam, of the United Kindom,” Dine said, and the half elf nodded, absentmindedly, as though he hadn’t even recognised he had bought the bow.
Bow of the Thorny Rose ( 1 Shortbow)
Requires Attunent
Deals 1D6 pierce damage.
Thorn of the Rose. Even on a miss you deal damage equal to your Trained Bonus.
As the battleaxe appeared, the half elf thought of bidding on it, but his brother raised a hand and bid on it, the price swiftly moving from ten thousand silver to twenty thousand.
“It’s… alright,” the half elf whispered into his brother’s ear.
“Okay?”
Adam, lightly, shook his head.
Battling Axe ( 1 Battleaxe)
Requires Attunent
Deals 1D6 1D3 slash damage.
Battling. Once per day, when you roll for Battle Order, you may take 10 and add your typical bonus. When you use this ability, your first attack has Advantage. This ability recharges at dawn.
Jurot surrendered the weapon. Lanarot, however, also bid once, and Jurot placed a hand atop her head to stop her from bidding too much.
“Brother, you are oppressing .”
“You do not require this axe.”
“I want it…”
“If it was greater than Phantom, I would allow you to bid.”
“Phantom is better?”
“Yes.”
“Oh...”
“Phantom is even better than Nona’s Tears, you know,” the half elf said. “At least, it is in your hands.”
Lanarot flushed lightly, crossing her arms as she sat upright, showing rcy to the others, allowing them to procure the battleaxe, and then the rapier, which was fairly decent, but who used a rapier within their families?
Adam considered it for Keiwyj, but decided against it, since he could make a better one. If she was soone who had fought against the Order of the Thousand Hunts when they acted up, then she should at least receive sothing better than this Basic Enhanced Rapier.
Noonval Blossom ( 1 Rapier)
Requires Attunent
Deals 1D6 2 pierce damage.
Noonval Blossoms. Under daylight, deal an additional 1D6 fire damage. If you roll a 6 on this damage die, you deal an additional 6 fire damage.
‘It is kind of a cool rapier, though,’ the half elf thought, though as he did the maths in his head, it was essentially equal to dealing an additional 1D6 1 fire damage. ‘So cool!’
Dina noted how deep in thought the half elf was about bidding on this rapier.
‘Please do not bid, Mo!’
PATREON FOR 30 CHAPTERS!
It is really cool!
