As evening approached, Adam revealed all which he had bought to his children, though it was Lanarot who held the gazes of all the children, revealing the spear she had bought for their nano.

“Kako! You are so amazing!” Jirot declared, causing Lanarot to smirk, her cheeks crimson, the girl sitting up taller. “When I am big, I will be like you!”

“Of course, my niece,” the girl said, the echo of the words stifled as she hugged her niece, who giggled and squealed within her arms.

‘There’s only a year and a half between you…’ Adam thought, but then again, wasn’t Lanarot so big? She might have been even larger than their father within their eyes, for Lanarot had also never lost in front of them.

“Daddy!” Jirot gasped, grabbing the half elf’s sleeve. “You did not see kako’s fight, daddy! Papo Laygak fought well, and kako fought so well too, and they both fought with the sword, and I am going to learn from kako so I can fight so well too.”

“Oh?” Adam raised his brows in surprise, for he hadn’t heard the girl wanted to learn the martial way. “Will you learn the way of the Gak family?”

“Yes!” the girl declared, her eyes sparkling with a great resolution. “I am Jirot and I am Jigak so I can learn the Gak family way.”

“I suppose they would not refuse teaching you,” Adam said, feeling the girl’s grip upon his sleeve, the way she gripped at it so tightly, as if he would disappear in the wind. “What of the way of the Rot family?”

“I will learn it!” the girl assured.

“What about magic?”

“Yes! I will learn magic too!”

“I see...” Adam smiled, his lips forming a wider smirk, for didn’t that an…

Jirot’s fist clenched tighter onto his sleeve as held onto her father. “Daddy, I am going to fight like you…”

“Ah? Like ?” Adam flushed lightly, his heart throbbing, for his daughter spoke so tenderly of him, and within her sparkling eyes, he could see she was not teasing him, just this once.

“Daddy… is the strongest.” Jirot flushed at the words, for it felt awkward praising her father like this. Bullying her father ca more naturally, but praising him, it felt good too, in a special way.

Adam smiled, the girl returning the smile, and the pair embraced one another, and though the girl was so much smaller, her affection was no less great than his own. Flashes of the girl’s life slipped across the half elf’s mind, though almost always bullying him, the girl’s mischief not entirely unknown even within the Iyr, but within his heart, the half elf knew it and the extent of her affection.

“Daddy, I am going to fight like babo!” little Jarot said, sitting up taller, staring up at his father, for he, too, could bully the half elf.

“Ah? Like babo? I should have expected that you would pick the one man I have never defeated! Of course!”

“Of coas!” ca the cries in return, filled with the innocence of children.

“What of you, Konarot?” Adam mused, looking down towards his eldest daughter, who had co into his life with such scars across her cheek.

“Mm…” Konarot replied, falling deep in thought, her tail swaying behind her. How did she wish to fight? She tilted her head. “Babo is teaching .”

“Would you like to fight like babo then?” the half elf asked, for if Jirot wished to learn the way of the Gak family through her connection with one nano, Konarot, through her connection with her other nano, would be able to learn the way of the Fev family.

“Mmm…” Konarot thought for a long mont, and though she realised the way she wished to fight, she shrugged, for she was still so small, and so would think on it.

“Take your ti, you’re still young,” Adam said, reaching down to ruffle the girl’s hair, causing her to flush lightly. “What of you Kirot?”

“I want to fight with a big hamr,” the girl replied without a second thought. The way of the Rot family? The way of the Gak family? The way of the Fev family? That was all too complicated. All she knew was that she wished to wield a big hamr. A big hamr. A hamr so big, it could turn mountains to dust, just like how her babo could turn mountains to dust. She glanced over towards the old man, who was about to complain, but seeing the way the girl looked up at him, the Iyrman flushed lightly, crossing his arms.

“If my greatdaughter wishes to learn with a big hamr, I will beat Hamrok well and he will teach you.”

“Can you beat Hamrok?” Mulrot teased.

“Ha? Hamrok? Even if it were his younger sister, I could beat her!” Jarot declared, for the younger woman, who was about their age, was far stronger than her elder brother, between a Grandmaster and a Paragon, but could she defeat the Mad Dog? One might have thought so, but the Mad Dog did not, for her hunger to kill was not as great as his own.

“Why do you have to beat him to have her teach Kirot?” Adam asked.

“I should beat him well because he needs to be beaten well,” Jarot replied simply.

“Kirot, how can he say this?” Adam called.

“Babo…” Kirot stared up at the old man, who held her gaze for a mont.

“If my greatdaughter does not wish for to beat him, I will ask first, and if he refuses, I will beat him then.”

“Okay.”

“Kirot, that’s not okay, he should not beat Hamrok even if he refuses.”

“No?” Kirot asked, raising her brow, causing her father to open his mouth into shock, the half elf blinking, and then the girl turned to look to her mother. “Mummy, babo cannot beat up Hamrok?”

“Did Hamrok do sothing so terrible?” Vonda asked.

Kirot blinked. “Hamrok will not teach ?”

“Kaka, how you can say that?” Jirot asked, reaching out a hand to place upon the girl’s knee, for this girl, even if she was trouble, she knew between right and wrong. “You must call him babo Hamrok.”

“Ock! Babo will not teach ?”

“If you call him babo, he will teach you?” Vonda replied, tilting her head. “If he does not, it does not warrant your babo to beat him.”

“Oh!” Kirot said, reaching up to her forehead, as though to say that was obvious. “Of course!”

“Of coas!” ca the cries, each of the children also holding their heads.

‘I should make ti to teach them more,’ Vonda thought, her eyes falling to Adam, who also held the sa thought, but she could see him imdiately disregard the thought, for their children were too cute.

“What about you, Karot?” Adam continued, reaching over to pinch his son’s nose, causing the boy to blink.

“Um…” Karot replied, his voice shuffled from his nose being blocked. “I want to fight like…”

The boy remained deep in thought for a long mont, holding his father’s gaze. It had been so long since they stared into one another’s eyes like this, and the boy squird lightly, and with each passing mont, he flushed a deeper red.

“I want to play with daddy…” Karot admitted.

“I want to play with you too,” Adam replied, unable to reprimand his son for not answering his question, for at the sa ti, it was the wrong question to ask if his son replied with such words.

“Daddy, when I am bigger, I will still be your little boy,” Karot said, reaching up to hold his father’s wrist.

The half elf’s heart throbbed.

“You! Karot! You! You flirt! Ho ho ho! You!” Adam picked his son up, holding him up by his pits, causing the boy’s tail to shoot straight out. “You always take such good of your daddy! It’s always you who speaks such kind words to his father’s heart! You! Who taught you to flirt so well? This is all your mother’s fault!”

“You should learn the way of the Rot family!” Lanarot finally declared, for though her nieces and nephews were so cute, they should know it! They should know they are of the Rot family! “I will teach you!”

The children all blinked up towards their aunt, their eyes so full of awe towards her, disarming her instantly.

“You! You brats! I must forgive you since you are so cute!” the girl declared, for against her nieces and nephews, even she could not claim victory. “Amalrot! You must learn our way, okay?”

Amalrot yawned, blinking up towards her elder sister who had sauntered up to her.

“You! I must forgive you since you are so cute…” Lanarot grumbled, for even her little sister had defeated her with such ease. “Just this once.”

Jurot blinked towards the children, from his sisters, to his nieces and nephews. He stared down at them, his heart aching lightly, for weren’t they too…

Ah.

No.

Jurot realised the folly of his thoughts. ‘They are growing so well…’
