Chapter 1214: Chapter 1214: Test

Although Kong Ziyi was in Lantern Town, she had not stopped paying attention to Elder Bai, and many junior disciples from the Taiqing Sect took the initiative to report updates to her.

Quite a few Taiqing disciples traveled outside the sect, and with a marketplace as large as Mingsha Fang Market, it was impossible not to encounter them.

Kong Ziyi wasn’t particularly famous within the sect, but, after all, she was at Interdiate Level Out of Dust, so quite a few Taiqing disciples had heard of her.

Ordinary Qi Refining disciples weren’t qualified to interact with her, but interestingly enough, there were a few Qi Refining disciples from Zixia Peak in the marketplace. As they hailed from the sa lineage, their lower cultivation levels were less of an issue.

These disciples deeply resented Elder Bai for his disrespectful remarks and had been closely watching the Bai family’s movents. They even didn’t mind walking back and forth in front of the Bai family’s courtyard in their sect’s official attire.

Therefore, Kong Ziyi truly understood the Bai family’s current state. “That old Bai has already gone to the Ten Directions Platform to badmouth … I’ll wait for him to co back.”

Feng Jun pondered for a mont before proposing, “Should we head to the Ten Directions Platform and eliminate that scoundrel?”

Kong Ziyi shook her head, dismissively replying, “No need. Let him be for now. He can’t stay on the Ten Directions Platform forever… going there just to seek revenge on him wouldn’t be worth the effort.”

Having soone in the family at the Golden Core level really does make a difference, doesn’t it?

Feng Jun, in contrast, felt a sense of inadequacy—he simply didn’t have enough resources or clout. “Yang Shangren has expressed to multiple tis his desire to take action against the Bai family.”

Kong Ziyi paused in thought and sighed. “Is he really so impatient? Never mind, I’ll send soone to the Yang family when I get a chance and select two children with exceptional talent to bring into the Taiqing Sect. That should settle the karmic debt.”

She did feel so pity for Yang Shangren, but since the other party seed determined to court death, forcing the issue would only make things worse for herself. Who knew what people might say if word spread?

“That sounds appropriate,” Feng Jun nodded. “The sooner we can test his aptitude, the sooner I can begin preparing a treatnt plan for you. When it cos to treating ailnts, it’s always better to start sooner rather than later.”

Kong Ziyi also nodded. Although she did sympathize with Yang Shangren’s plight, her own Chaos Yin-Yang Curse made her life no less unbearable; its intermittent flare-ups often made her wish for death over life.

Nonetheless, her heart remained relatively kind. “Let him recuperate for a couple more days. His energy and blood are still sowhat weak right now… By the way, didn’t you tell before that you have excellent insight into matching cultivation techniques?”

Feng Jun hesitated for a mont before shaking his head. “I wouldn’t go as far as to claim expertise—just a bit of modest experience.”

“Mountain Master Feng, you’re being too modest,” Kong Ziyi said with a smile. “That disciple of yours, Yun Buyao, seems perfectly suited for cultivating ‘Broken Qingluo.’ That kind of discernnt proves you have a keen eye.”

After a brief pause, she added, “In two days, one of my senior sisters will arrive specifically to guide a few cultivation seedlings back to the sect. Can you help take a look at their potential?”

“Guiding cultivation seedlings?” Feng Jun was startled and quickly waved his hands. “Oh, no, no, no. That’s an internal matter of your sect. As an outsider, how could I possibly offer my opinion?”

To him, lending a helping hand wasn’t the issue—but Kong Ziyi’s senior sister wasn’t her. There was no guarantee she would welco his involvent, and if his good intentions backfired, it would only complicate matters.

“My senior sister is easy to talk to,” Kong Ziyi said with a laugh, “and if you offer her so suggestions that prove helpful, wouldn’t she be thankful to you in the end?”

Feng Jun still didn’t want to agree, so he shook his head. “That won’t do. If I’m to recomnd anything, the relevant cultivation techniques must be present on-site. Matching a technique is more akin to a form of divination—without concrete materials at hand, how am I supposed to make a judgnt?”

He didn’t believe that Kong Ziyi’s senior sister would carry around an assortnt of sect cultivation manuals. Taiqing disciples were formidable but not invincible—traveling with multiple foundational techniques from the sect would be an open invitation for trouble if soone ambushed them.

Kong Ziyi paused for a mont before breaking into laughter. “No need to rely on my sect’s techniques. How about borrowing a few common ones from Tiantong instead?”

Feng Jun chuckled and shook his head. “That would depend on Huang Fu Wuxia’s approval. Just the two of us talking here—what’s the point?”

With full confidence, Kong Ziyi replied, “Leave convincing Wuxia to .”

Surprisingly, Huang Fu Wuxia did agree to Kong Ziyi’s request. She was also curious about Feng Jun’s aptitude in matching cultivation techniques. To that end, she even personally traveled to Mingsha Fang Market and borrowed over a hundred techniques from Tiantong.

The cost of borrowing over a hundred cultivation techniques was steep—certainly no less than several million Spirit Stones. Tiantong’s Mingsha branch even assigned Shangren Tu and Shangren Qiu as escorts for the delivery.

The three Shangrens were slightly apprehensive about transporting so many techniques, but Huang Fu Wuxia assured them, “Don’t worry—I have a treasure bestowed by our ancestor. Nothing will happen.”

Even so, Shangren Tu couldn’t resist asking, “Why not just have Feng Jun co to the market himself? Bringing out so many techniques isn’t like painting a target for bandits?”

“Shangren Tu, could you stop being so pessimistic?” Huang Fu Wuxia said with a hint of exasperated humor. “Feng Shangren and those two Taiqing Shangrens dislike creating a commotion. If they went to the market in person, wouldn’t it just beco a spectacle?”

Shangren Qiu sighed under his breath, “Sure, they avoid making a scene, but we’re the ones stuck working hard.”

Huang Fu Wuxia responded with a faint glance, “Shangren Qiu, this is a rare opportunity to gain insights into aptitude evaluation techniques. Such knowledge could benefit our clan and descendants. Without taking risks, how would we ever improve?”

When they arrived at White Pebble Beach, Kong Ziyi’s senior sister had also just arrived.

This senior sister, An Yuhong, was only at the third level of Out of Dust but had joined the Taiqing Sect earlier than Kong Ziyi. During her Qi Refinent days, she had cared for Kong Ziyi considerably and later entered Tianyao Peak, even attempting to bring Kong Ziyi along.

Now that Kong Ziyi had reached the fifth level of Out of Dust, she still addressed An Yuhong as “Senior Sister,” demonstrating her enduring sense of gratitude.

An Yuhong had co this ti to guide a pair of twin siblings—one with Innate Extre Yin Physique and the other with Innate Extre Yang Physique. While Yin-Yang constitutions were more common than the Five Elents Physique, suitable cultivation techniques for them were scarce.

The rarity of Extre Yin and Extre Yang physiques was comparable to the Innate Pure Water and Pure Gold physiques of Zhang Caixin and Yun Buyao. In fact, the twins’ physiques were even rarer, as most children born with them didn’t survive infancy.

These twins had survived only because they were born together and could sustain each other. That rarity was precisely why An Yuhong, a third-level Out of Dust cultivator, personally ca to guide them.

The twins, around eight or nine years old, were highly valued by the Taiqing Sect, prompting their eagerness to bring them in.

By the ti An Yuhong reached Lantern Town, it was already dusk. She didn’t care much about Feng Jun’s testing process, instead expressing her joy, “It’s been so long since I’ve seen you, Junior Sister Ziyi. Tonight, let’s share a room and catch up!”

anwhile, Feng Jun was hosting Shangren Tu and Shangren Qiu at his temporary lodging. “After the last battle, we didn’t even have a proper drink together. I left Mingsha prematurely as an outsider, so consider this my way of making up for it today.”

Shangren Tu laughed heartily. “Feng Daoist, there’s no need for formality. That day, it was our shortsightedness—we even thought about taking so of the Lu family’s assets. Had we done so, we would’ve co to Lantern Town for a drink much sooner. Really, the fault lies with us.”

The night passed quickly. Kong Ziyi and An Yuhong stayed up late chatting, and both woke well past noon.

After tidying up a bit, Kong Ziyi officially invited Feng Jun to her courtyard around midday to evaluate the cultivation direction of the twin siblings. By her side, Huang Fu Wuxia had already laid out the hundred-plus borrowed cultivation techniques.

Shangren Tu and Shangren Qiu observed from a distance with solemn expressions, eager to absorb any knowledge they could.

Typically, cultivators understood that physiques like Pure Gold or Extre Yang were natural blessings for cultivation. Choosing the right cultivation direction virtually guaranteed advancent to Out of Dust, barring an untily demise.

Most believed that the most powerful techniques within an attribute should always be chosen—for soone with Pure Gold physique, for example, the strongest Gold Attribute technique available should be their focus.

But listening to Huang Fu Wuxia argue that even single-attribute physiques required tailored cultivation techniques was eye-opening for them.

Feng Jun pulled out his mobile phone and started scrolling through it. Huang Fu Wuxia, already used to this unconventionality, simply observed. Shangren Tu and the others, although deeply curious, dared not glance too closely, knowing it was taboo.

After scrolling for a while, Feng Jun looked up with a smile. “The Fang siblings have excellent potential. But given the scarcity of Extre Yin and Extre Yang techniques, I don’t have much to suggest. I can only congratulate An Daoist for securing such exceptional seedlings.”

An Yuhong didn’t think much of him and simply regarded him as a passing figure in her junior sister’s life. She responded with a polite smile. “Feng Daoist, you’re too kind. It’s all thanks to my master’s guidance—I’m rely performing the task of fetching them.”

Kong Ziyi, however, wasn’t satisfied. “Mountain Master Feng, don’t brush this off so lightly! I’ve been praising you to my senior sister all day. If you just say a few words and call it a day, isn’t that letting down?”

“How could I possibly brush things off with just a few words? At the very least, I’d go through a thousand calculations,” Feng Jun quipped, unable to let this slide. “Anyway… the boy’s Extre Yang is slightly overdeveloped. I’m guessing he’s been cultivated with mostly fire attribute materials?”

The Fang siblings were startled. The Fang family was a mid-level clan with four Out of Dust cultivators. Knowing the siblings’ potential and Taiqing’s interest in them, they had invested heavily in their nurturing.

The girl reacted swiftly—often, girls matured faster than boys at that age. “Shangren, you’re right. Our family gave us many natural treasures to honor Taiqing’s prestige. My brother and I both consud plenty of resources.”

A spark of understanding flashed in Huang Fu Wuxia’s eyes as she remarked, “The boy recently suffered a fire-elent injury but recovered with fire-based treatnt. Feng Shangren’s observations are accurate—his Extre Yang is slightly overdeveloped.”

If both siblings had been enhanced similarly but only the boy’s Yang attribute exceeded balance, there had to be an underlying reason.

An Yuhong paused montarily before smiling. “Thank you both for pointing that out. Fortunately, it’s nothing serious.”

But Feng Jun shook his head slightly. “While it’s not serious for him, you have your own larger issue to consider.”
