Chapter 473: Chapter 473: The Little Secretary’s Mischief

Gu Jiahui was dragged to the front courtyard by Zhang Caixin while having dinner.

She focused intently again and truly felt it: the front courtyard really wasn’t as comfortable as the back courtyard!

Being endowed with high-level Wood Attribute, her perception abilities, though slightly inferior to Zhang Caixin’s, were still far stronger than those of most people.

However, regrettably, even with her perception, it was of no use; after dinner, she could no longer enter the back courtyard, no matter how severe her coughing beca.

In fact, between the front and back courtyard, there was only the Moon Gate, with no one there to stop her, yet those who knew the rule dared not violate it.

Thus, Yang Yuxin and Gu Jiahui settled down in that manner, and for daily als and the like, they didn’t need to spend money, but they couldn’t wander around the manor freely either, being subject to even more restrictions than Gao Qiang.

...

The luxury coach bus stayed behind, which was borrowed by her nephew Qin Tiantian from a friend. Of course, this issue could be resolved with money. The real issue was the dical equipnt on the bus, also borrowed from others, which had to be returned.

Qin Tiantian was quite shocked that his aunt and cousin were staying in the manor, but after eting Xiao Hui privately, he had to admit that his cousin indeed… seed to have recovered a lot.

So he complied with his aunt’s instructions, dismantling nearly all the equipnt on the bus except for a portable respirator—not worth much, but crucial in case his cousin’s condition relapsed and needed urgent lifesaving.

After taking the equipnt away, he also dismissed the temporarily hired dical staff.

So of them asked if the poison in Gu Jiahui was cured.

Since they couldn’t get an answer, so seriously advised Qin Tiantian: Be careful in your observations. The other party isn’t a real doctor, after all. Even if they can administer effective treatnt initially, whether they are truly professional in the later stages is another question.

This advice irritated Qin Tiantian quite a bit. Yet, at the sa ti, he felt obliged to remind these people: Rember to keep this confidential!

He felt like the way people looked at him when he said such things was as if they were looking at an idiot.

Over the next few days, he occasionally called his aunt and cousin to check in on the situation.

But after receiving a warning from Feng Jun, Yang Yuxin dared not say much to her nephew, just kept insisting that Xiao Hui was doing well, recovering quickly, and there was no need for him to worry.

Not worrying wasn’t an option for Qin Tiantian, who was rather troubled since his mother had specifically instructed him to take good care of Gu Jiahui.

However, now he couldn’t even enter Luohua Manor but could only make phone calls.

After about a week, Qin Tiantian’s informant in Baixing Town reported that another coach bus had pulled up in front of Luohua Manor.

“This is plagiarizing my idea,” he decided to go take a look.

Feng Jun felt a wave of nausea when he heard that there was another coach parked by his gate. Was this never going to end?

Unlike the previous ti, he knew who was at his door seeking help—Governor Zang had specifically called him earlier.

Those seeking help were foreigners from southern Shinra, with a vegetative patient unconscious for eight years.

The people from Shinra didn’t approach Feng Jun directly but instead went through an investor to request the city’s help in contacting the owner of Luohua Manor, hoping he could save the vegetative patient.

When the Zhengyang Municipal Governnt heard this request, they were baffled. They couldn’t understand why the people from Shinra would co to Zhengyang to treat a vegetative patient and why the person they were looking for… wasn’t involved in the dical profession.

Still, this investor had significant clout. He had investnts in industrial parks in Zhengyang and was influential dostically and internationally, so there wasn’t any need to alert provincial leaders for such a trivial matter, which is why they had only been inford by the municipal governnt.

He had business dealings with Shinra and was simply linking the two parties, the gist being that if they could cure the patient, others might also be inclined to invest in Zhengyang—we’re all in the sa circle, all influential players.

Feng Jun really had no idea what exactly had happened, but what angered him was the approach of the people from Shinra: You seek my help and don’t co to first but go to the Official Governnt?

To be fair, even if the people from Shinra ca to him first, he would just reject them.

But isn’t there a difference between being refused and then turning to the governnt, and not saying a word and going straight to the governnt?

So you’re using the governnt to press right from the start? Feng Jun was extrely annoyed inside. He clearly stated, “We at Luohua Manor are in the business of afforestation. Planting trees is fine, but a vegetative person…how does one plant that?”

The one on the phone was still Secretary Shen.

Because of Zhang Caixin, he really couldn’t stand Feng Jun, and no one knew that, in the previous clash with the Chaoyang people, he had intentionally or unintentionally sent multiple misleading signals, leading Governor Zang to beco a thorn in the side of the Yuan Family.

Hearing what Feng Jun said, he casually remarked, “This is what the city wants. President Feng, you did cure Elder Yuan, and there’s no need to deny that, right?”

However, Feng Jun, known to be an academic prodigy, wasn’t one to be intimidated by such a petty situation.

“Are you implying that if I left Huaxia and went, let’s say… to rrick, I wouldn’t be able to make it?”

After hearing this, Secretary Shen knew he had been led by the nose, so he coughed lightly and said, “Governor Zang is taking this matter very seriously.”

But Feng Jun nonchalantly shot back, “I’m not a doctor. Your demand is excessive. If Governor Zang ca, I’d say the sa thing…”

Then, the voice of Governor Zang sounded on the other side of the phone, “Xiao Ma, this matter concerns our city’s efforts to attract investnt and promote economic developnt.”

This Secretary Shen, truly despicable! Feng Jun realized too late he had been betrayed. Do I have a grudge with this guy?

But by that point, it was too late to say anything else, so he could only smile and ask, “Governor Zang, I don’t have a license to practice dicine. What if I end up killing the patient… whose responsibility is that?”

With the conversation grinding to a halt, Governor Zang silently ended the call.

Feng Jun thought the matter would now be settled. After hanging up, he pondered, Is this the sa person Zhou Xiaotong told about? The vegetative patient from Shinra?

Yet, to his genuine surprise, two days later, a coach arrived at the manor’s gate, with that very vegetative patient on board.
