When she returned to the living room, Chi Jiao saw Quan Jue putting on his coat.
“Are you leaving?” Chi Jiao walked up to Quan Jue and looked up at him.
“It’s already very late.” Quan Jue pointed at the clock. It was already nine in the evening.
“Then, I’ll be alone at home tonight.” Chi Jiao sighed in disappointment.
Quan Jue found her sigh adorable. He couldn’t help but poke her cheek with his finger. “Didn’t your dad say that the butler and Auntie Liu are also home?”
“But I’m not familiar with them. They all like Chi Yan instead of me,” Chi Jiao said.
All the servants in the house watched Chi Yan grow up.
Hence, they were very close to her.

Quan Jue wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her into his embrace.
His other hand held the back of her head and pressed her face against his chest.
“Don’t cry anymore. I’m the one who should feel lucky.” The young man’s voice was hoarse and his heart ached.
He didn’t know why she suddenly started crying.
However, it was obvious that the reason for her crying was not as important as how to not make her cry or be upset.
She was his light.
Initially, he thought that he would only hide in the dark and live a rotten and smelly life. However, Jiaojiao was like a ray of light, making him realize the meaning of his life.
Hence, meeting Jiaojiao was Quan Jue’s blessing.
He would do anything for her, even if it meant sacrificing his own life. All he wanted was for her to be a carefree and delicate girl for the rest of her life.
Chi Jiao buried her face in Quan Jue’s chest. She could feel his strong heartbeat as she hugged his waist tightly.

“Don’t go,” she whispered.
“I’m not leaving.” Quan Jue gently patted the back of the girl in his arms.
The two of them stood in the living room and hugged each other for a while. When Chi Jiao heard footsteps behind her, she abruptly let go of him.
Butler Zhou didn’t expect to see Chi Jiao and Quan Jue hugging in the living room. He looked at him as if he was a thief. “Quan Jue, who let you in?”
When Quan Jue, Chi Mingwei, and Chi Jiao came back together earlier, he was instructing the servants to clean up the garden.
So, he didn’t know how Quan Jue got in.
He only knew that Zhu Limin had told him to chase this ingrate out if he ever returned.
