Lu Xian stared at Quan Jue in a daze.
Especially when she saw the injuries on his face, she felt heartache.
This heartache seemed to be subconsciously ing from the bottom of her heart, and it was pletely out of her control.
Why was that?
This was clearly the first time she had seen this young man.
Quan Jue looked at Lu Xian indifferently as he walked to the counter.
His thin lips moved as he spat out.
“A cup of hot coffee, please,” Quan Jue said indifferently.
Only then did Lu Xian return to her senses. She hurriedly replied, “Wait a moment.”
Then, she turned around and got back to work.
The coffee in the convenience store was instant coffee. All they needed to do was add hot water to the instant coffee powder.
Quan Jue watched as Lu Xian busied herself making coffee for him. His eyes were as deep as whirlpools with no end in sight.
He was now pletely certain that this woman before him was his mother.
How ironic.
She didn’t seem to know him anymore.
After Lu Xian had made the coffee, she closed the cup with a lid and placed it on the counter. She said, “Dear customer, the coffee is a little hot. You have to be careful not to get scalded.”
Quan Jue nodded indifferently. After placing the money for the coffee on the counter, he picked up the coffee and turned to walk towards the rest area by the window.
However, he had just taken two steps when Lu Xian’s voice was heard from behind him.
“Um, customer, please wait a moment.”
Quan Jue stopped in his tracks and turned to look at her.
“Can I ask about the wounds on your face? Did someone bully you?” Lu Xian frowned as she looked at Quan Jue.
She didn’t know why she had asked such a question. It was pletely unintentional.
Looking at the young man in front of her, who was at most eighteen or nineteen years old, she thought of how there were student unions who were currently suffering from campus violence.
Lu Xian was a little upset at the thought that this young man might have suffered from it.
She felt ridiculous, but she just couldn’t control herself.
“Do we know each other?” Quan Jue asked indifferently.
Lu Xian’s face turned red as she shook her head. “No, we don’t.”
“Then don’t poke your nose into other people’s business.” With that, Quan Jue turned around.
He quickened his steps to the resting area and sat on the high stool.
Lu Xian looked at Quan Jue, and her face turned as red as a tomato.
She also knew that her question earlier seemed too nosy, so she felt very embarrassed.
Just then, the wind chime rang again.
“Xiao Xian.” A gentle male voice was heard.
Quan Jue had just placed the coffee cup to his thin lips. Before he could take a sip, he placed the cup back on the table and turned to look at the door.
A man in his thirties walked into the convenience store with a smile.
He had a refined appearance and a gentle aura. He also had a thin physique.
It was the man Quan Jue had seen in the photos.
“Hubby!” Lu Xian’s eyes lit up when she saw him.
“It’s about time you get off work, right?” Ye Yichen walked to the counter and looked at her gently. “I’ve made your favorite pork trotter soup.”
It was almost time for lunch.
Lu Xian was on the morning shift, so someone would e to take over at noon.
“It’s snowing outside, so the person taking over might be late,” Lu Xian said.
“Alright, then. Take your medicine first.” Ye Yichen placed the convenience bag on the counter. “I just saw that it was snowing and was worried that you wouldn’t be able to get off work normally, so I brought the medicine over.”
