Lu Yao said, "We have to win—not because we don’t want to cook, but honestly, the stuff we make is just too scary for anyone to eat."
Back in Yunya Village, every household had prepared dinners at so point.

He Qiming chid in, "That’s true! It was practically a limited edition. Only this show dares to have the illustrious President Gu roll up his sleeves and cook for everyone. Outside of this program, we’d never get to taste anything like that in our lifeti."
Gong Xue’er smiled and said, "Do you really think President Gu was cooking for all of you? Yangyang’s favorite dish just happens to be braised pork. I’m guessing President Gu was cooking for his beloved wife, don’t you think?"
As soon as Gong Xue’er said that, everyone started booing playfully.
Tang Rufeng said, "No wonder that day when everyone casually ntioned cooking, Mr. Gu insisted on making braised pork. He even went out of his way to have two pounds of at swapped from a farr’s house. Turns out Mrs. Gu was craving it. But hey, we sure benefited from Mrs. Gu’s indulgence!"
Everyone laughed and teased.
Gong Xue’er’s gaze shifted toward Lu Haotian.
Sure enough, Lu Haotian’s expression didn’t look too good.
His eyes on Xia Yangyang seed to hold a trace of gloom.
Lu Haotian was so easily provoked; this ought to get interesting.

Xia Yangyang partnered up with Li Wenwen, while Gong Xue’er tead up with Lu Yao.
Xia Yangyang let out a breath of relief when seeing the team arrangent.
She didn’t want to be grouped with Gong Xue’er and Lu Haotian.

Xia Yangyang still preferred to keep a safe distance.
Back when Gong Xue’er was in school, she excelled in volleyball, and Lu Haotian was naturally a sports ace.
Facing Lu Yao and Tang Rufeng as opponents, it seed unlikely for them to lose.
The competition rules were that the losing team in the two matches would face off for the final elimination.
As long as Gong Xue’er’s team won, Xia Yangyang’s pair—win or lose—wouldn’t have to compete against Gong Xue’er.
Though Xia Yangyang wasn’t bad at sports either.

Still, the process was thrilling and exhilarating.

Then Gong Xue’er and Lu Yao’s team stepped up.
Watching them, Xia Yangyang couldn’t help but notice Gong Xue’er repeatedly underperford.
Lu Yao and Tang Rufeng were diocre at best—they were lucky to even qualify as amateur-level.
But Gong Xue’er kept making mistakes.
In the end, their team lost.
When the island host announced the results, Xia Yangyang sighed inwardly.
There’s sothing funny about Murphy’s Law—that the more you fear sothing, the more likely it is to happen.
By the ti the two rounds had wrapped up, it was already noon.
The island host said, "The show crew has prepared lunch for everyone. The final match this afternoon will be Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu against Miss Gong and Mr. Lu. Let’s enjoy lunch first, then continue the competition afterward. Everyone must double their efforts for the afternoon match—rember, whoever loses will have to prepare dinner for four families!
