Yan Xinxin’s startled voice brought her son out of the room where he had been doing his howork.
"Little Chenxi!"
Yan Chenxi, seeing little Chenxi in Mo Chuxi’s arms, imdiately broke into an excited smile.
"Brother Xi!"
Little Chenxi was equally elated.
"Daddy, Daddy! Put down! I want to play with Brother Xi!"
Mo Chuxi remained silent but obliged, lowering her as she wished.
Little Chenxi hurriedly ran over to Yan Chenxi, and the two children quickly bonded and began playing together harmoniously.
Mo Chuxi glanced at the two little ones before turning to look at Yan Xinxin, who seed bewildered.
"Follow ,"
he said, grabbing Yan Xinxin’s hand and heading toward the spiral staircase.
Yan Xinxin glanced back at the two children, happily interacting, and then followed Mo Chuxi upstairs.
The evening sky was bathed in vibrant hues, the sunset casting its splendor over the garden filled with hydrangeas.
Yan Xinxin stepped out onto the rooftop and saw Mo Chuxi standing by the railing, his tall figure clad in austere black, radiating a cold and arrogant aura.
"Mo Chuxi, what’s wrong?"
Looking at his back, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of concern.
"Chenxi—Is she really your daughter?"
Mo Chuxi furrowed his dark brows, his deep eyes iced over as he gazed down at the bustling city below, bathed in twilight.
Earlier, when Yan Xinxin had comnted that Chenxi resembled him, he hadn’t given it much thought, certain that he had never been intimate with any woman other than Yan Xinxin.
But now, he understood—for five years, Mu Qianshui had orchestrated a deception against him.
And as he looked more closely at Chenxi’s little features, her facial outline bore an increasing resemblance with his. He already had a premonition about what the paternity test results would reveal.
"Chenxi is truly adorable and well-behaved. If she really is your daughter, I think that would be a stroke of good fortune."

The man in front of her suddenly turned around.
"Yan Xinxin, I don’t want to deceive you."
His voice, filled with guilt, left Yan Xinxin startled.

Mo Chuxi spoke with extre hatred and disdain, the cold smile tugging at the corners of his lips embodying his deepest scorn.
Yan Xinxin had never seen Mo Chuxi this agitated before.
Her heart sank with a feeling of loss, yet there was also a pang of inexplicable sympathy.
She could strongly sense Mo Chuxi’s turmoil.
But at the sa ti, she felt an unexpected hint of solace because he was baring his true emotions before her without reserve, a sign of his trust.

He parted his lips, speaking with deliberate clarity, unwilling to mislead or conceal anything from her.
Yan Xinxin froze in place.
"Did Mu Qianshui do sothing to you?"
"That vile woman drugged ."
"Mu Qianshui drugged you?" Yan Xinxin found it completely incomprehensible.
"This is the biggest stain on my life."
He chuckled bitterly under his breath, and Yan Xinxin felt a sharp pang in her chest. She never imagined she could empathize so deeply with Mo Chuxi’s emotions.
Lost in thought, she was startled when Mo Chuxi suddenly cupped her face with his hands, his handso features drawing closer.
"That very night, at the Universal Star International Hotel—Yan Xinxin, why wasn’t it you? I would rather have been that despicable man who forced you that night. If it were you, I think I would feel happiness instead."
