As soon as those words were spoken, Yan Xinxin instantly felt the temperature around her drop sharply.
Before she could react, it was as if a cold wind suddenly swept past her. She raised her eyes and saw Mo Chuxi’s austere, all-black figure heading straight to the office.

The office door was open, and it seed like Mu Qianshui was waiting for Mo Chuxi.

She had thought that once this so-called "elder sister" disappeared, Mu Qianshui could beco the Mu family’s one and only cherished pearl, and also the only one in Mo Chuxi’s eyes. But, as it turned out, none of that was reality.

Mo Chuxi’s icy voice rang out behind Mu Qianshui.
She raised her almond-shaped eyes and, from where Mo Chuxi couldn’t see, adjusted her expression into what she thought was her most perfect mask, then turned to face him.
"Chuxi."
She called softly, her gaze glistening with unshed tears.
Even though, the mont she saw Mo Chuxi’s dark and oppressive eyes, her heart already trembled.
"I know I’ve made a grave mistake, one that cannot be undone. I only hope... that you can acknowledge Xixi and give her a complete family."
Yan Xinxin had just arrived at the office door when she clearly heard Mu Qianshui saying those words.
But soon, she also heard Mo Chuxi’s cold, mocking laugh.
"Just looking at you now disgusts . Let make this clear—you will have nothing to do with Chenxi from here on. She’ll have a mother, but it won’t be you."
Mu Qianshui’s heart skipped a beat.
"Chuxi... Are you planning to let Xixi acknowledge Yan Xinxin as her mother?"
Her instincts were sharp.
"I don’t owe you an explanation. Get out."
Mo Chuxi turned away in disdain, even opening the ventilation window, as though trying to dispel the scent of Mu Qianshui’s perfu.
That simple action naturally made Mu Qianshui feel embarrassed and uncomfortable.

"Chuxi, Xixi is my precious daughter!"
Mu Qianshui rushed to stand behind Mo Chuxi, her expression a perfect performance of sorrow.
"No matter what, I will never let Xixi acknowledge another woman as her mother!"
"A mother who hasn’t acknowledged her child in five years? What gives you the right to be Chenxi’s mom? Precious daughter?"
Mo Chuxi’s voice was chilling as he countered, his icy gaze striking her like daggers.
"If it weren’t for you thinking Yan Xinxin’s appearance might threaten your future place as Mrs. Mo, would you even care about Chenxi? You’re just exploiting that child, aren’t you?"
"I’m not! Chuxi, I swear I’ve never thought that way—Xixi is my biological daughter. How could I possibly exploit her..."
"Mu Qianshui, you did!"
Mu Qianshui’s tear-filled performance of a caring mother was abruptly interrupted by Yan Xinxin’s unhesitating, sharp voice, cutting through her lodrama without ceremony.
Mo Chuxi lifted his gaze, fixing on the figure who was now walking in with poise and confidence.
Mu Qianshui’s face slightly darkened, and in the instant she looked at Yan Xinxin, her expression brimd with hostility—but in the very next mont, she quickly shifted to an air of fragility.
"Lady Yan, it’s you. Why do you keep slandering again and again?"
"Do I even need to slander you?"
Yan Xinxin stepped closer to her.
"You exploiting Chenxi is a fact. Threatening , warning —also facts. A movie queen like Miss Mu, who can morize lines flawlessly, wouldn’t forget the words she said to —would she? You told , when I was pregnant, to be careful whenever I stepped outside. Don’t you rember?"
