Yan Xinxin froze abruptly.
"Mo Chuxi, what did you just say?"
*Swoosh—*
She suddenly looked up, but before she realized it, her footing slipped, and her body lost balance, pressing tightly into his chest.
Mo Chuxi instinctively tightened his hold on Yan Xinxin. With a loud "splash," water splattered everywhere.
His back slamd against the cold, hard bathtub. It hurt—quite a bit—but fortunately, Yan Xinxin hadn’t suffered even a hint of pain.
Both of them were drenched from head to toe. Yan Xinxin slowly climbed up from Mo Chuxi’s body, her hips inadvertently seated on his abs.
*Cough, cough.*
She coughed lightly and raised her hand to swipe the water off her face.
"Mo Chuxi, you bastard!"
Yan Xinxin shouted angrily.
"Have you forgotten that I’m carrying your child in my belly? Are you trying to tell you don’t want a daughter anymore?!"
Mo Chuxi sat up straight, cupping Yan Xinxin’s flushed, scornful face with both hands.
His deep-set eyes locked onto hers, which flashed with bla and indignation.
"Yan Xinxin, let be clear with you. At that mont just now, the only thing I wanted... was you."
"Cut the act! You, Young Master Mo, have probably seen every kind of woman there is. How long have you even known ? Do you think I’d believe you actually like ? Like enough to marry and make your wife?"
"So, are you saying you think our marriage certificate is fake?"
His words left her montarily stunned.
Mo Chuxi leaned in closer, his strikingly handso face re inches from hers.
"Listen closely, Yan Xinxin. I desire you, with no pretense."
"You..."
"Sure, the world is filled with beautiful won. But for , you are the only one whose beauty I can truly admire."
"How fascinating. Not only is Young Master Mo skilled in business, but he’s also quite adept at charming won. I wonder, am I the first woman you’ve praised like this, or rely one of many?"
Yan Xinxin curved her pink lips into a smile, then got up from his body.
Under Mo Chuxi’s watchful gaze, Yan Xinxin slipped off her gown, casually picking up a bathrobe and wrapping it around herself.
She glanced back at him briefly, her eyebrows furrowing suddenly, then turned and left without looking back.
A strong sense of defeat swept over Mo Chuxi’s entire being.
He glanced at the bloodstained bandage and rembered Yan Xinxin’s earlier rciless actions—it compounded the restless unease he felt.
Mo Chuxi replaced the wet towel around his waist with a fresh one before heading to the study. Just as he was about to change his bandage, he saw Yan Xinxin walk in with a dical kit in hand.
Mo Chuxi was slightly surprised as he took in her delicate, frost-cold face. He couldn’t help but curl his thin lips into a grin.
"I almost thought my wife was really that ruthless."
He opened his lips to tease her as he sat down on the recliner.
Yan Xinxin ignored him, walked straight to the recliner, and sat down beside him, thodically preparing the tools to treat the wound.
She said nothing, with her face still icy, as she carefully reached out to remove the blood-soaked bandage. Once undone, she saw the gash on his skin and furrowed her delicate brows slightly.
"Regretting how harsh you were with earlier? Feeling guilty now?"
Yan Xinxin raised her beautiful eyes to et Mo Chuxi’s deep gaze.
"You think too much. I was just wondering if I should’ve been even harsher!"
Mo Chuxi frowned deeply, swiftly reaching out to grab Yan Xinxin’s hand holding the cotton swab.
"Yan Xinxin, do you really want to know why I disturbed Chun’s peace?"
