She wants to confess to him?
Mo Chuxi’s heartbeat paused slightly, and he lifted his piercing gaze to et Yan Xinxin’s clear and beautiful star-like eyes.
The clarity in her gaze was unlike his own, always so deep and unfathomably mysterious.
He held her, seated on his lap, his arm gently wrapped around her slender waist.
"Mrs. Mo wants to confess sothing to ? Did you do sothing to betray ?"
"Well, I think this could be considered letting my husband down."
Yan Xinxin gave a faint smile, but upon hearing her words, Mo Chuxi’s expression instantly changed.
"It’s about what happened five years ago."
She spoke, her soft voice catching him before his expression darkened completely.
Mo Chuxi froze, his gaze and deanor becoming even more intense than monts before.
Yan Xinxin looked at him, her bright eyes dimming slightly but remaining composed.
"Five years ago, I had just turned 18. That night, I went to attend a classmate’s birthday party. The whole class was invited, and I went too."
She reminisced.
Mo Chuxi’s handso features stayed frozen.
Listening to Yan Xinxin recalling and describing that year, that night, an overwhelming sense of guilt enveloped him inescapably.
"That day was a Friday. I was the duty student, so I finished my schoolwork and chores before heading to the hotel—your Di Jue-owned Universal Star International Hotel on No.1 Street."
He gazed at the elegant curve of her side profile, his thin lips parting gently.
"And then?"
"Then I arrived a bit late, probably around 9 p.m.? Everyone was still having fun. I didn’t have ti to change clothes, so I went to the hotel in my school uniform, but..."
Yan Xinxin paused, her small hand gently tightening into a fist.
"But I went to the wrong place. I was supposed to head to the restaurant area, but sohow I ended up in the hotel’s guest room section."
As she reached this part of her story, Mo Chuxi’s heart clenched piece by piece, invisibly and painfully.
"I couldn’t find my way. I wanted to locate the exit, but as I turned a corner past a guest room, the door suddenly opened..."
Yan Xinxin’s voice grew quieter and quieter. Mo Chuxi noticed her gaze drop and her soft brows knit themselves lightly.
"Yan Xinxin..."
"That man was so strong. He pulled into the room, and I couldn’t break free. The room was dark, and I only slled a faint fragrance in the air—but I couldn’t see anything."
Yan Xinxin recalled the mont deeply.
"His body was so hot at first I thought he was sick and needed help, but I was wrong. He only wanted a target to vent his desires on, and I just happened to beco his prey."
"I scread for help, begged him, but it was useless. He... tornted all night. I vaguely recall hearing him say sothing by my ear, but I was in so much pain, so miserable. I don’t rember anything, nor do I want to recall the details of his cruelty. When I woke up after fainting, I just left."
Returning from the weighty mories, Yan Xinxin raised her delicate face with a faint smile to look at the stunned Mo Chuxi.
"Later, I discovered I was pregnant with Xi and Chun. And then, my mom told that Chun was born with heart failure and passed away shortly after."
She sighed softly, her eyes reddening, but she quickly lifted her lips into a smile and wrapped her arms around Mo Chuxi’s neck.
"But now I see hope. Mo Chuxi, you must find out the truth quickly. As long as Chun is still alive, I have nothing more to ask for."
She smiled tearfully, holding him and leaning into his embrace.
As she inhaled the faint orchid-like scent emanating from him, her heart steadied.
Mo Chuxi stayed dazed, his hold tightening around Yan Xinxin bit by bit as he felt her soft warmth in his arms. His finely shaped brows etched with guilt and heartfelt ache.
"I’m sorry, Yan Xinxin. It was I who hurt you."
