Mo Chuxi’s steps ca to an uncontrollable halt when he heard the two words Yan Xinxin had called out.
Her soft, warm hand gently tugged at his palm, the close contact causing his heartbeat to jump.
Yan Xinxin lifted her gaze to look at Mo Chuxi’s emotionless, handso face, and she smiled faintly but composedly. Holding his hand, she leaned intimately close to his side.
"Husband, where are you going?"
She asked, and when the fair-skinned, beautiful, long-legged young woman glanced her way, Yan Xinxin smiled generously.
"Hello, I’m Chuxi’s fiancée. My na is Yan Xinxin."
"So you’re Lady Yan, the famous Yan Xinxin."
The woman smiled warmly.
"I’m Chuxi’s university classmate, Wen Xin."
"Wen Xin?"
Yan Xinxin thought the na sounded familiar but couldn’t recall where she’d heard it before.
"Lady Yan is even more beautiful and youthful than I imagined. No wonder you managed to win the heart of S University’s top campus crush."
Wen Xin teased, then shook the invitation in her hand.
"I’ve received the wedding invitation. I’ll definitely attend your wedding on ti, and I hope Lady Yan likes the gift I’ve prepared for you."
A gift?
Could this be another person Mo Chuxi invited to give a present?
Yan Xinxin nodded politely to express her thanks.
"Thank you, Lady Wen."
Seeing Yan Xinxin holding onto Mo Chuxi’s arm, Wen Xin smiled and turned toward the elevator.
"No need to see off, Mo Shao. I won’t disturb your ti together."
"Goodbye."
Yan Xinxin lifted her hand and waved lightly toward Wen Xin.
Mo Chuxi remained silent throughout, only lowering his gaze slightly to glance at the woman holding his arm and smiling softly.
Once Wen Xin entered the elevator, Yan Xinxin quickly let go.
Mo Chuxi’s face darkened.
"Co with ."
"Fine, I’ll go inside. Do you think I’m scared of you?"
Yan Xinxin muttered softly before turning to follow Mo Chuxi’s free and easy stride.
Upon entering the office, Mo Chuxi sat coldly behind his desk.
"Was it fun?"
He parted his lips, his voice icy.
Yan Xinxin froze montarily.
"What are you talking about?"
She feigned ignorance, blinking innocently as she placed the cake box she held onto the desk.
"I just ca back from the factory with Master and picked up afternoon tea for you on the way—sea salt cake, your favorite."
The cold, hard lines on Mo Chuxi’s handso face softened slightly.
Yan Xinxin, watching the distant and silent Mo Chuxi, smiled and moved closer to him.
"Just now, did you deliberately pretend not to see —and smile at Lady Wen?"
"..."
"Did you find out I went out with Master and get jealous again?"
Yan Xinxin asked straightforwardly, leaning toward him with deliberate teasing.
But whenever Yan Xinxin took the initiative to tease him, Mo Chuxi would reflexively beco uncomfortable, making his expression seem even colder.
"I hate sour things."
Mo Chuxi responded indifferently.
Yan Xinxin pursed her lips and smiled sweetly.
"I know. My husband likes sweet things."
As she spoke, she opened the cake box and took out the sea salt cake inside.
Then, picking up a spoon, she scooped up a dollop of cream and brought it to Mo Chuxi’s lips.
"Let feed you."
