"Smack!"
Yan Xinxin threw the small dical kit in her hand down by his feet.
She didn’t look at him, and turned around as soon as she finished.
Mo Chuxi endured the pain spreading in his chest and reached out to grab Yan Xinxin’s hand, but just as he touched her, she flung it away.
"Don’t touch again!"
Yan Xinxin coldly rejected him with a warning, the wounds in her heart spreading inch by inch, dripping with blood.
Mo Chuxi ignored his injury and suddenly got up.
"Yan Xinxin, you promised that no matter what happens in the future, you wouldn’t leave ."
Hearing his words, tears welled up in the corners of Yan Xinxin’s eyes as she turned back to him with a sarcastic smile.
"Yes, I did promise, but I made that promise to a man I believed was worthy of entrusting my life to, not to you—a hypocrite hiding behind a polished facade!"
Her sharp words were like an invisible sword piercing straight through his chest.
"You’ve known all along, yet you kept it from . I even asked you tentatively before, and you still said nothing. Now the wedding’s ruined, the baby’s gone, are you satisfied?"
She looked at him, her gaze heavy with bla and pain, her eyes shimring with tears.
After finishing her words, Yan Xinxin turned decisively and walked out the door.
Mo Chuxi wanted to chase after her, but his wound was still bleeding and he had to deal with it first.
Even though it wasn’t a deep stab, it had still pierced into flesh and blood.
Yan Xinxin went to Xi’s room.
Under the moonlight, gazing at the sleeping little one, her eyes quickly grew red and wet again.
She gently lay down on the other side of the bed and raised a hand to softly caress the sleeping child’s face.
His brows, his features—at this mont she could see it more and more—he resembled Mo Chuxi.
Yan Xinxin closed her eyes, trying to calm herself and reflect on that night five years ago, but no matter how hard she tried, it was impossible.
The hatred she’d carried for these five years couldn’t simply vanish in one mont.
This man—she still hated him, hated him down to her very bones!
Just thinking about it brought a searing pain from skin to flesh.

The night passed restlessly.
Mo Chuxi woke up early, changed the dressing on his wound, refreshed himself, and walked quietly toward Yan Chenxi’s room.
He knew Yan Xinxin must have slept in their son’s room last night.
But as he reached the staircase, he heard Lin Yuan’ai’s complaints coming from downstairs.
"That Yan Xinxin is completely shaless—leaving the house early in the morning without saying a word, walking out so brazenly. Does she seriously think she’s the mistress of this house?"
"Mom, can you stop being so critical first thing in the morning? Saozi married my brother, so of course she’s now the mistress of this house. If she went out, she must have had sothing important to do. Stop saying things you shouldn’t; what if my brother hears and gets upset again?"
Mo Qingning defended Yan Xinxin.
Mo Chuxi slightly frowned, feeling a sharp sting in his wound.

Mu Qianshui sat leaning against the hospital bed, her heart still lingering with fear as she recalled the scene from yesterday.

If the doctor hadn’t said that the bullet had narrowly passed through her calf without striking the bone, she truly might have ended up crippled!
"Qianshui!"
Mira burst into the room in a hurried and worried rush.
"Qianshui honey, are you okay?"
She rushed to the bedside and, seeing the thick bandages wrapped around Mu Qianshui’s right leg, imdiately showed an expression of distress.
"Stop pretending."
Mu Qianshui shot Mira an annoyed glance.
"I need you to go sowhere imdiately and get sothing for ."
