He suddenly spoke harshly to stop her.
Yan Xinxin paused in her steps, a little startled by Mo Chuxi’s sudden cold voice.
"President Mo, I’m just a small employee who doesn’t have ti to chat idly with soone like you. I need to go down..."
"Why did it go missing?"
Before Yan Xinxin could finish her words, Mo Chuxi’s questioning voice followed imdiately.
His movents were so quick—at so point, he was already standing in front of her, reaching out to grip her tightly clenched left hand.
"Our wedding ring. Where is it? Hmm?"
His gaze was profoundly heavy as he looked at her, with added fury in his eyes.
Yan Xinxin frowned, trying to withdraw her hand, but her efforts were futile.
"Mo Chuxi, let go!"
"Answer my question."
He stepped closer to her, his oppressive deanor and intense gaze surrounding her completely.
Yan Xinxin looked directly at him, biting her lip lightly.
"I threw it away."
"What did you say?"
"I said I threw it away!"
Yan Xinxin shouted loudly.
Mo Chuxi felt a sharp pain strike his heart.
His brows furrowed tightly, his deep, anger-fueled eyes locked onto her.
"I personally put that ring on your finger, and you threw it away?"
"So what if you personally put it on ?"
Yan Xinxin retorted, suddenly letting out a small laugh.
"The wedding was ruined, the baby is gone—what’s the point of keeping it?"
"I can give you another wedding, and we can have another child. Do you really have to hold onto your hatred for for a lifeti?"
"Yes! I hate you!"
Fearlessly, Yan Xinxin confronted Mo Chuxi’s icy rage-filled eyes, though tears had already begun to glisten in her eyes.
"Young Master Mo, do you know how I’ve lived these past five years?"
Her words made his heartbeat falter.
"Do you know what it feels like for Xi to be called a burden and a bastard every single day since he’s been born?"
"Do you know what it feels like to endure the judgnt and scorn of one’s own family every day?"
"Do you even understand the arduous process soone with depression has to go through just to step out of the shadows?"
Yan Xinxin questioned him, tears uncontrollably streaming down her face.
"Young Master Mo, you don’t know."
She answered for him.
"You disregarded my wishes and hurt , ignoring it all as if nothing happened. And now, you’ve suddenly developed a conscience and want to make ands? Sorry, it’s too late."
As her final words fell, Yan Xinxin used all her strength to wrench her hand free from Mo Chuxi’s grip.
Turning swiftly, she walked away.
Watching Yan Xinxin’s retreating figure, Mo Chuxi stood motionless, like an ancient Greek sculpture.
Every word she had just said pierced his heart like needles.
At an age that should have been bright and full of hope, he had given her an unshakable nightmare.
Indeed, it was hateful. It was unforgivable!
After leaving Mo Chuxi’s office, Yan Xinxin imdiately ran to the restroom and splashed her face with water.
She hadn’t expected that she would say those words to Mo Chuxi—and she hadn’t expected that their relationship would co to this point.
Looking at herself in the mirror, thinking of her 18-year-old self, Yan Xinxin clenched her fists, trapped in a fierce conflict between love and hate...
Once her eyes were no longer red, Yan Xinxin returned to the departnt on the 16th floor.
As she reached the door, she noticed a lively atmosphere in the office.
A female figure she found sowhat familiar stood not far away.
"Hello, everyone! It’s my first day here, and I’m asking for your guidance. I’ll make sure to learn well!"
The young woman spoke politely and respectfully, then suddenly turned her head.
"Hi! Xinxin! We et again!"
