Mo Chuxi furrowed his brows and asked, but no one answered.
Could it be Xinxin?
He speculated, and of course, he secretly hoped it would be Yan Xinxin knocking on the door.
Ever since their unexpected night together, he’d gotten used to holding her in his arms to sleep every night.
He didn’t like sleeping in the study at all.
With that thought, he got up and went to open the door.
But as the door opened, the face that greeted him wasn’t the one he longed to see.
"Young Master Mo."
Ye Wei’er called softly, holding a cup of tea in her hands.
"Young Master Mo, I thought you might still be reviewing docunts in the study tonight, so I specially brewed so..."
"Do you think your looks are enough to soday replace Yan Xinxin and beco the Mo family’s young madam?"
"..."
The smile on Ye Wei’er’s face froze instantly.
She had imagined countless ways Young Master Mo might reject her, but she never anticipated he would be so direct, leaving her utterly embarrassed!
"Young Master Mo, you’ve misunderstood. I just saw..."
"Saw getting kicked out by my wife, so you assud there’s an opportunity for you?"
"..."
Ye Wei’er’s face turned even redder.
She truly hadn’t expected this supposedly composed Young Master Mo to have such a venomous side!
"After tomorrow, I don’t want to see you in this house again."
Mo Chuxi finished coldly, then shut the door on her without a hint of warmth.
Ye Wei’er stood at the doorway, holding the tea cup, utterly dumbfounded!
She had rely wanted to use the chance to approach Mo Chuxi, to gain a little favor. It would’ve been acceptable if he wasn’t interested in her!
But never in her wildest dreams did she think he’d outright tell her to pack up and leave?
Ye Wei’er’s face paled. She quickly turned and hurried downstairs to discuss her next move with her mother.

Yan Xinxin woke up again the following day at noon.
Her fever was gone, her spirits much improved, though her body still felt a bit weak.
She freshened up, tied her hair, and casually put on a white T-shirt and a pair of loose pants before heading downstairs.
The two little ones were, of course, at kindergarten, so that man...he should be at work at this hour.
Last night’s events...
"You’re awake. You look better—should be fine now, right?"
Yan Xinxin was still a bit distracted when she heard Lin Yuan’ai’s voice.
She turned her head to see Lin Yuan’ai approaching with a smile, followed closely by Sister Lin.
"Good afternoon, young madam."
Sister Lin greeted her cheerfully.
"Your body is recovering, so I’ll go make so bird’s nest soup for you. It’ll be ready soon."
"Thank you."
"No need to thank , young madam! It’s what I should do!"
With a smile, Sister Lin turned and walked away.
Lin Yuan’ai glanced at the departing Sister Lin before speaking.
"Did you and Chuxi have a fight?"
"..."
"He didn’t look good today, but he rarely loses his temper over work. Other than you, I can’t think of another reason."
Yan Xinxin suddenly realized how sharp Lin Yuan’ai could be.
"It’s nothing serious, just so minor disagreents between husband and wife."
She gave a faint smile and gestured toward the yard.
"I’m going for a walk in the garden for so fresh air."
Lin Yuan’ai nodded slightly, watching Yan Xinxin’s retreating figure, and then followed her outside.
The late-sumr sun was no longer scorching, and a cool breeze blew gently.
Yan Xinxin noticed the hydrangeas in the garden still standing tall.
Because of Mo Chuxi’s childhood obsession with her, the entire yard was filled with hydrangeas—and so was the Mu family’s.
Feeling moved, she walked over to the flower bed, bent over slightly, and leaned down to sniff them.
Trailing not far behind her, Lin Yuan’ai watched Yan Xinxin’s movents. Initially, she didn’t think much of it, but then her gaze fell on the skin of Yan Xinxin’s lower back, exposed as she bent down.
Under the dazzling sunlight, Lin Yuan’ai clearly saw the small, distinct red heart mark on Yan Xinxin’s lower back!
Lin Yuan’ai’s heart raced. She quickly stepped forward and grabbed Yan Xinxin’s hand.
Yan Xinxin was startled and confused, only to see Lin Yuan’ai looking at her with an anxious, almost desperate expression.
"...Mom, what’s wrong?"
"Yuan! You’re Yuan! You really are Mu Qianyuan!"
