What, what!
Mom!
Mrs. Mo called this old lady Mom!
Ye Wei’er was completely shell-shocked! Dumbfounded! Her mind was an utter ss!
The old lady glanced at Lin Yuan’ai with a slight smile, then directed her loving gaze at the adorable dragon-and-phoenix twin siblings.
"You’re Xi, and you... are Chun."
She looked at the two little ones with a kind expression, confirming their nas.
"Mmm, mmm!"
Little Chenxi blinked her crystal-clear cat-like eyes, which looked almost identical to Yan Xinxin’s, as she nodded her little head.
"But Chun used to be called Xixi, you know! Later, Daddy said Xixi would be called Mo Zhichun. Chun... um... Chun really likes the na Daddy gave ."
" too! I used to be called Yan Chenxi, but now I’m Mo Chenxi!"
Young Yan Chenxi imdiately followed with his self-introduction, his little face filled with pride.
The old lady smiled warmly and nodded.
"Such good kids."
She said this, then took out two large red envelopes from her pocket.
"These are eting gifts from your great-grandmother."
She smiled as she handed the two red envelopes over.
The siblings, completely unaware of social niceties, curiously opened the envelopes handed over to them, and each pulled out a piece of paper.
"What’s this?"
"No idea."
Xi and Chun looked genuinely puzzled.
Ye Wei’er lowered her head for a closer look, and her eyes widened in an instant, gasping audibly!
Holy crap!
Each was a check for five million!
Real, authentic checks!
Not props!
Ye Wei’er’s heart burned with anxiety, regret, and panic. She genuinely wished she could turn back ti by just ten minutes!
Just ten minutes!
If she had brought this old lady back and expressed so token concern, her chances of getting closer to Mo Chuxi would’ve increased dramatically!
Yan Xinxin walked out of the pantry, holding a cup of tea. When she saw Lin Yuan’ai hurriedly rushing downstairs from the third floor, she was slightly puzzled but still smiled warmly.
"Mom."
"Yes!"
Lin Yuan’ai responded and quickened her steps.
Yan Xinxin carried the cup over to the elderly lady.
"Old lady, please have so water first. Your foot seems fine now, so take a rest. Later, when my husband cos back, I’ll have him arrange for soone to drive you ho."
"Alright."
The old lady nodded, reached out to take the water cup Yan Xinxin handed her, and gazed at her with a gentle look.
"With a mother as beautiful and kindhearted as you, no wonder the two kids are so sweet. They care about strangers in need and show kindness—very good, very good."
She praised her.
Then she looked up at Ye Wei’er and cast a glance at the tea cup in her hand.
"Unlike so people—neither beautiful nor kindhearted. I don’t even know how such a person ended up in my Mo family!"
"... Huh?"
In my Mo family?
Yan Xinxin originally thought the old lady was criticizing Ye Wei’er, but hearing that last sentence left her stunned.
Ye Wei’er gritted her teeth, then flashed a smile on her face.
"Old lady, you’ve misunderstood , actually."
She walked over and placed the tea cup on the coffee table.
"I really had sothing important to do earlier, which is why I ca off as a bit rude. Actually, I was just..."
"You don’t need to explain."
The old lady cut her off decisively and rcilessly, without leaving any room for excuses.
"This sort of utterly awkward reasoning—don’t you feel ashad listening to yourself? A young lady so blatantly lying, isn’t that embarrassing?"
"..."
Ye Wei’er was stunned, cursing the old lady in her heart. This damned old woman’s tongue was vicious!
"Mom!"
Lin Yuan’ai’s voice rang out again as she quickly walked into the living room.
Yan Xinxin was surprised—this "Mom" was directed at whom?
"Mom, when did you arrive? Do you know Xinxin?"
"Mom?"
Yan Xinxin finally understood, but she also felt utterly shocked!
So Lin Yuan’ai’s "Mom" was addressed to this old lady!
"Mom, this is..."
"Xinxin! This is Chuxi’s grandmother, and she’s your grandmother, too!"
